Dalton: Hmm.. Not too sure. I would post in the main RHW thread for a better response to this.

Personally, I have had problems with neighbour connections, but I usually downgrade the RHW into a ave or updrade into a standard highway to establish a connection.

for a even better response from the RHW veterans, I suggest posting here: (RHW: Questions, Errors, and Testing)

can someone help me? i installed RHW and all the dependencies and I still can't find the highway itself in any of the menus. everything else (the ramps, stack interchanges, rail tunnel etc.) appears in the game, but not the rural highway segments. please help me because i really want to build a highway with an express/collectors system similar to Hwy. 401. =(

Did you look in the Highway menu?

uv411: Welcome to Simtropolis! In answer to your question, you have to download the Network Addon Mod in order to use the RHW. You can find that in the Modds and downloads section of the site. Once that is downloaded, you have to download the NAM: Essentials file found on the Simtropolis exchange (search for NAM). Finially, download the RHW and it should be placed into the Network Addon mod's folder. In-game, the RHW will be found in the highway menu's top icon. Follow the instructions carefully on how to create the network, and then follow my giude to make it into the multi-RHW.

I hope that wasn't too wordy.

Once again, welcome to Simtropolis! 9.gif

I finally figured out the problem. I forget to check off certain files to download 5.gif. I have 1 question, how do you make ramps, overpasses, elevated sections, tunnels, transitions, crossovers, interchanges and other ways to connect the freeway to the rest of the road network in the city?

uc411: You just have to be creative!  use the NAM overpasses for elevated sections and the RHW-4/One way roads for ramps.

A little bird told me that there is going to be a modular interchange system (MIS) released for the RHW network.  If/when its out, you will be able to make custom interchanges and crossovers with ease.  Until that time though, I find that one way roads work the best for interchanges.

While I am here I may as well post a couple more pictures... This time showing the darker asphalt texture for the RHW.  What is does is it darkens the asphalt texture so that the RHW network matches the black asphalt of the other networks in SC4 better.

Click on the Images for FULL RESOLUTION (1440 x 900 px)

    The image

The Multi-RHW with the darker asphalt texture (cars removed to show texture)

    The image

Formation/ending of the Multi-RHW showing the improved curves and one-way road transitions (cars and buildings removed to show junction).

This texture is now available for downloading on the STEX.  Follow the link in my signature.

A big thanks to Shadow_Assassin for uploading this and for all those who contributed to this texture!

    Very nice work, Haljackey! 3.gif

You're probably the only person that I've seen that has created a multi-lane RHW properly (in the current state of the overrides). Every time I've done one, it stuffs up the road directions in my RHW... 3.gif

Swamper77:  The links I post usially work, but there are currently problems with the STEX searching.  Sorry about the errors, its something that I didn't do on purpose!  Thanks for pointing them out!

How can you properly post the file link with the STEX's current condition?  Would you be able to do it for nickplusten?  Thanks!

Shadow_Assassin: The ONLY person?  I'm sure there are others who have done it using my guide that just haven't posted pictures.  (cough cough .. Tarkus stated that he found another way to do it on the first page.)

It does take a lot of work and dedication to get it to function properly.  Practice makes perfect though!  Once you get the network to work properly, adding interchanges and even overpasses can turn your functional network into a mess again!  You just have to be patient and get a feel for how the RHW network works, for in the Multi RHW, the network is a living organism.  It can change drastically if you disturb it.

On a personal note, I just wanted to thank you for the darker asphalt RHW texture.  As requested in the main RHW forum, if you could release another version with the left white line changed to yellow, it would perfectly match the road textures in Canada (and maybe with the USA/Mexico too).  That way both Europeans and North Americans will be overjoyed with your texture!

Swamper77: Oh!  Okay, I get it now!  Thanks a lot for that, very helpful indeed!

Heres the link for the medians now:

https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=1444 It SHOULD work this time 6.gif

And there is no zoning next to the network, because have you ever seen a business on a highway? (Well, it depends on how "highway" is defined in your country LOL)

    Hey everyone,

I have a new picture to show you, Its a RHW-8-C network without the collector/express system of the Multi RHW (RHW-8).  (The "C" in RHW-8-C stands for compact).

On top of that, the network is only 3 tiles wide!  The multi-RHW is 4 or 5 tiles wide, or even wider, so this will save you some space!

    rhw8previewoi6.jpg

(Credit goes to Shadow_Assassin for the image and to Tarkus for design)

This is part of the new RHW/NWM (network widening mod) project.  There is no confirmed release date yet, and I am not sure if this will be included with the first release.  Just be patient, and with time, the RHW will be reborn!

hmm i see you have turning lanes.

in NAM install i selected full install include both avenaue and road but i have arrows for turning only for road.

but for UDI i need arrows for avenaue ...

and what diffrent from avenaue to this RHW?

you going to add to the RHW a open paved? trees? and how you build so big nice city?

when i start zoning i use with radical super oridance and doing radical effect on ind/co/cs but the resendial grow veryy slow.

I order to have turning lanes for the avenue, you must create a full, straight, intersection. The avenue must be AT LEAST 3 tiles straight in each direction leading up to the intersection with no other intersections between it for AT LEAST 2 tiles.

Try experimenting with the network, and when all else fails, READ THE README included in the NAM. If you still have no luck, I recommend that you remove ALL of your plugins and reinstall the NAM.

The radical super oridance mod only affects commercial and industrial zones, not residential. If you have a lot of wealthy jobs available, and the conditions are right (low taxes, good location and access to transportation), your residential demand will skyrocket too.

I hope that answers your questions Danny_K_B.

actually, when i have high com/ind demand the resendial its big too.

but some times its grow slow. some time fast.

and today one city that its full zone(4 half: com/ind/farm/res and i got skyscraper and that big buildings.

but still not like you in pictures.. i need a mod that do big building , skyscraper and big traffic like in you pics.

and do you going to release RHW fast? cause now there bugs with RHW .. like when i want to do curve..

    nevermind ...

there any mod that do when i Zoning its zone with ROAD and Not STREET? cause its very annoying to do roads myself...

and much times i hear unpossible things that its a 'EXE" Controlled.. but i think the EXE its a launcher/loader that load .DAT files etc...

This is how I see the EXE I'm not sure if it's right though. The EXE is the game and the dat files files addon to the game, we can only modify the dats, and not the EXE as it is supposedly illegal. If you can't change it in the dats you can't change it anywhere.

CowboySean: Know that these members who are dedicating themselves to these projects do this in their free time. Because of this, they have to deal with other issues in their lives and work on their projects whenever they can. That is why there is no release date for the projects here at Simtropolis, so you will just have to be patient.

For the time being, you can use the Multi-RHW to make wider highway networks. If and when new versions are released, you will be able to convert the Multi-RHW into a RHW 8, or 10.

RHW needs to be turned into avenue or one ways to appropriately interchange at this point, yth.

Interchange pieces and offramps are apparently next release...
