Thank you! I like your suggested version - it seems to read better. Also, if you want to do the brush work and post it here I would be happy to use it on the building, otherwise I will try to make my mouse-painted version as legible as possible. Can you give me Pinyin  on 'fire star' and astronaut? These are words that will probably be common speech on Mars and I may use them in other building names. Also I need character for 'proceed' as in 'continue' or 'move forward'.

I have a question off-topic - how will astrology change when we are on a planet with two moons! What will be the role of the real Earth planet when the 'Earth' of our astrological forecasts (the ground under our feet) is Mars? You don't have to answer; I just thought it was a curious question and one that I have wondered about for several years. Even farther off topic - how will astrology change when we reach new planets circling other stars?

Qinbenjiaren - It is the explanation for a building design dedicated to an American singer. Music will always be/is the first and truest audible language of mankind.

edit:

Here is a picture - what do you think? Is it readable? Does it seem to make sense? What should we do for the lot to help feng shui?

About the astrology....

I think most stars will stay near to the position as we see them on Earth, since the axis of Mars is similar to Earth and most stars are so far away.

And we will have two moons, with a smaller sun.

for pin-yin....

We don't use pin-yin in Taiwan, so I don't know how to spell them. Maybe chinbenjaren can. I will do the brush writing after I finish my work later >W<

Well, if you need pronounciation....

Mars = Hwo3 Shin1 (hwo similar to whoa) ..... hope you heard the 5 tones of chinese mandarin.

Astronaut = Tai4 kon1 ren2

Interesting response. Were we being cursed?

Chinaman88 - Is that your opinion of speculative language studies in general or of our banner in particular?

So, Hwo Shin Taikon Ren? What would be a good (funny) name for a bar where the taikon ren hang out when they are 'dirt-side'? That 'doubleplus ungood' line is pretty sweet. But I think that would apply to the whole neighborhood around the spaceport; it probably ought to be a street sign or grafitti.

Here are two forms of brush writing of the words you requested for the building.

A bar for astronauts  may not be "astronaut bar" but "space bar" instead in chinese. What about the space bar on keyboard? Well, those are different words =p So it might be "Taikon Bar".

About FongShui... hmmm

FongShui in Chinese is "wind water", which means "Fortune Telling Geographics". For a normal house in northern hemisphere, opening your door facing south is considered as good FongShui, since letting the sun radiation in would kill virus and good for your health. So FongShui is actually about location and facing, which could improve the health of the residents in daily life.

Large windows letting the sun in may be good FongShui... Less square interior design to prevent accident of hitting something in nights may be good FongShui... so you may think more about these resident-friendly designs for applying good FongShui.

No, I don't. I don't think that changing the language makes much sense. If we do actually do something with language, how about Mars Standard, instead?

I agree, but why bother, language doesn't change much at all in just 100 years, although it might 500-1000.
