Froggy, you've made an impressive CJ so far.

Very nice usage of the oriental buildings and your own bats!

I just love the Emirate towers and that big mosque.

I have two questions for you. Where does the royal family reside? Apart from the palace quite some pages back I have not seen any residence. Secondly, Gulf is getting more and more popular, why not in Khaled?

Keep this great CJ going please.

Only a short update today but a lot of info 4.gif

    govtcopy.jpg

    Sorry for lack of updates

Hopefully I intend to finish Khaled City soon so I can move onto the other regions of the Emirate!

    Replies:

Giligone:Thanks, is that a hint for next update 2.gif

jayo:THanks, no not anymore as i'm currently staying in my hometown of Eastbourne

    penguin007:Thanks!

djlee1999:Thanks, yes construction sites are a vital part of any booming Middle Eastern city 3.gif

Yoman3:Thanks, I must say I was inspired by the idea when looking at pictures of Riyadh 3.gif

turned out quite well in the end though, I like the marrast underpasses. I just hope I can keep the CJ going long enough to beat my previous longest ; Thames!

panthersimcity4:Thanks, underpasses you mean since it goes under lol

Dsrwhat316:Thanks, glad you like it 2.gif

skyscraper:Thanks, I guess you liked this one from your username 3.gif

Nik-nik:Thanks, glad you enjoyed the update. To answer your question the royal family lives on a guarded complex in Khaled City near the airbase, there's a shot of it in this update but its much bigger and i'll do an update on it soon. There's also a smaller palace in Khobar which I think i've shown.

Also good question, the difference is that while other Gulf countries are opening up for tourism Khaled is more reluctant and prefers to concentrate on building up education, resarch and finance, also I guess that due to some instability in Khaled this makes it a less attractive destination than neighbouring countries. But if Khaled goes down the tourism route they will be looking for some rich tourists than some backpacker types 2.gif

thanks for asking questions, it is always interesting to answer them!

suplado!:Thanks, the layout is quite griddy and for a non grid person it was kind of a challenge to get back into the style 3.gif also good luck with your new region

Sky Guy:Thanks, for the forseeable future I can imagine Khaled City being the capital but is someting coming? well we will have to wait2.gif

Interesting update! So the royal family rules, and the clerical council helps... What if the emir dies? I think then his son will be the new emir, but how much power does the clerical body have?

And how religious is the whole state? I think Khobar is less religious than the Khaled region. Also, have to ask, that if Khaled has weaker stability, then why does the western investment coming? I understand that one reason should be the oil, but else?

And if it is such a religious country, then how good is the education?

Your new update raises so much question. But it is good! 2.gif

Good ol' Liberty Islands! Someday, I'll repost my old CJ.
