New Official BAT Request Thread

Many people said that the old BAT request thread was too cumbersome to navigate and otherwise a jumbled mess.  Because of that, the old thread has been closed.  With this thread, we'll keep it clean and try to make things easier to navigate (to a degree).

A couple of tips for people posting requests.  First off, be as detailed as possible.  People who provide details stand a better chance of getting their request filled.  Second, providing pictures is extremely helpful, but make sure that they are 800*600 pixels.  Also, please host them off-site instead of attaching them to your post.  This helps save system resources.

With that said, have at it guys.

*clears throat, and practices new routine*

Please place ALL building requests into the NEW official BAT request thread! Thank you!

How's that, eh? 2.gif

SC4, Forevermore!

Currently preoccupied with architecture school...lurking with caution.

Glad to hear that you modified the routine to reflect the changes. 18.gif

That's a decision for the moderators of the Modding forums to make.

I see the merit behind such a system, but that would make too many request threads.  We've worked with one general request thread for over a year now, and since it still works, we'll continue to do that.

Even though you asked for specific requests, mine is a little more general (but for I good reason!).

I noticed a troubling void of new and creative industrial buildings when I went searching for some for my cities. More growables, (or anything for that matter) would brake up the reoccurring industrial zones. Now I'm not asking for more of the massive lots with a whole bunch of the same buildings thrown on, I just think more different buildings would be nice.

In other words...

CAN I GET A new FACTORY?

I hope I'm not missing some complication regarding the production of such buildings, if so let me know please.

p.s. btw, is there anyone else who has noticed this gap?

I would like to see the Parque Central towers (Caracas, Venezuela) in the game.

2 towers of 54 floors and 221 meters of height.

They are 2 offices towers built between 1976 and 1986. They're one of the tallest concrete buildings in latin america.

I can't tell anymore data about them now, not even Wikipedia has a decent article about them, but when I get them I'll edit this post.

Any image over 800*600 pixels will be deleted without warning. ~ VT

Hey guys, while they aren't an actual requirement, pictures are extremely helpful to BATters who may be interested in taking your requests on. Also, details are critical. You may not have any specific dimensions in mind when you are requesting a creation, but the more you can tell us about it (like type of building, general theme, possible suggestions) will only help.

Re-requesting....that issue should have been addressed. If said person requested it in the previous thread, then leave it at that and do not request it again here. We get the point. The old thread is visible to those who'd like to see it. Re-requesting will only make this thread as cluttered as the other, rendering it as tough to navigate as the other.

I'd like to see two New York City buildings: 500 5th Avenue and the Lincoln Building. Both are very typical for the early 30s NYC building style and wold be a great supplement for existing NYC building collection.

THE LINCOLN BUILDING

location: 60 E42nd St, Manhattan, New York City

style: Neo Gothic

construction: 53-storey, 205.5 m tall, brown stone exterior are the pointed, Gothic-style windows near the top.

500 5TH AVENUE

location: 500 5th Avenue at 42nd St., Manhattan, New York City

style: Art Deco

construction: 60-storey, 212.4 m tall, near the top. The facing is of buff-brick with terra-cotta detailling and spandrels on the vertical window stripes are of dark stone. The four-storey limestone base has black, metal-faced spandrels.

Why does everyone want towers? I want to see more military and government buildings such as the Pentagon, a new United Nations builidng, or new designed underground places like the Skull & Bones building at Yale University or Area 51, or deserted abandoned buildings near New Mexico where they were suppose to be tested for Nuclear testing purposes....

Also, a huge scale building of the Pentagon would be nice in Simcity 4, Id sure use it, a 20x20 scale version would be neat or building a building set of NASA space shuttle projects and such.9.gif

Sorry that I cant provide pictures guys, Im just lazy, then again, now I say that, my requests will probally not interest anybody, lol.

I have been thinking, and I think that it would be cool to do a BAT of the apple store in midtown, on the corner of 5th and 58th.  It would be pretty simple I suppose, since it is a cube.

Multiplaza Mall in San Salvador, El Salvador. It is a truly great mall with incredible architecture and use of color, and it was designed by the Mexican firm Legorreta+Legorreta. If anyone is interested I can go take some high quality pictures, it is not far away. multiplazaoutsidegm1.th.jpg data00160dscw0.th.jpg

First someone must figure out how to make it completely transparent, cars won't go green when passing by it, and so on. But if it is done, it's gonna be awesome. And if its not awesome, it can be rebranded as a SC3K Ice Cube.

I want more and bigger barges (the only ones available seem to be Pegs canal lots, and they're tiny).

Honestly, transparency isn't the biggest problem with this thing. It's the way the cube reflects and refracts light.

Car rental lots such as Avis, hertz, alamo, national, budget

Famous Factory Icon lots.

Bravo to the person who created the Domino Sugar plant

1) I can't find a decent picture yet but I'd like to see the Maxwell House plant formerly located in Hoboken NJ. It had a cup of coffee neon sign that couldn't be missed at night.

2) St. Louis Budweiser plant After all, who doesn't like beer???? Again looking for a decent picture

3) Hershey Chocolate

Please do not double post. ~ VT
