Wow! Took me forever to churn out an update! Damned christmas shoppers!

Anywho, like I mentioned before, all Simlympic updates will be simulcasted in HD (essentially 1024x768). All you have to do is click on the picture, and you'll be taken to a larger, crisper version of that picture. This update will not be a Simlympics update, but most likely will be the last update before the Simlympics.

Which brings us to the replies:

    Everyone before RON-E: See teaser...

RON-E: Thanks! It was a gerat surprise, and I thank everyone else that bid for putitng up a great fight!

ky72x: Vacation went great. Got stuck on the plane home for over an hour and a half.... home now and glad to be here! Thanks for the reply!

    Skram: Thanks!

And now, to the very long delayed update!!!

    ------------------------------------------------

... with highs being in the lower 20s tomorrow and possibly light flurries in the late evening. Will be bringing you the 10 day forecast at the of the program.

    update81zo4.jpg

Our top story tonight, Simlympics preparations continue across the city.

The scene earlier today, eastbound traffic on Ruewin Bridge early this morning as crews prepare the area for the Simlympic torch running. Ruewin Bridge, the area's biggest and quickest route to Signal Park, will be housing the torch and lighting ceremony.

Officials expect an estimated 40,000 people to either be on the bridge or along the route as the still undesignated torch runner makes their trip across the bridge on the final leg of the run. Sources with the committee have leaked that the runner may possibly be from one of the nations competing along with Windsor park's bid, and will be announced within the next week.

    update82wz1.jpg

Area hotels and shops have now added more employees and increased their operating hours in hope of being able to keep up with the huge increase in tourists and for the upcoming holiday season.

Plaza Point, the crown jewel of shopping in the city, expects business to boom an estimated 97% over the next few weeks. Also, are hotels are expecting over 90% of their rooms to be occupied by the time the Simlympics begins.

With tourism expected to take place, Roadlink and Metro Transportation will be running educational bus routes and priority shuttles accross the city to help both athletes and visitors reach their destinations and fully take in the history of Windsor Park. Estimated cost for the educational bus tous is 25 cents per ride.

    update83xb4.jpg

Officials have announce that they have finalized plans for the Simlympic torch, and will be constructing it in Signal Park.

Located across the street from the Signal Park Stadium, this torch is expected to be finished before the beginning of the Simlympics. Insiders with the design say that the artist is still unknown at this time.

The statue, estimated to cost approximately $250,000, is expected to be constructed by the end of the week.

    update84fn8.jpg

Time for another round of update.... and guess what?

    It's Simlympics time!!!

But first... a word for our commenters....

bbfan02: Well, expect more... cause that's how the Simlympics are displayed! 3.gif

The Big Z: Thanks! Have to individually paint every tree by hand too!

Mike the Mayor: THanks! Your's are pretty nifty too!

connorc24: Well, the wait is over! Let me know what you think of it!

ky72x: Yeah..... but it is winter right now.... its not exactly a tropical paradise. Thanks for the comment!

suplado!: Thanks! Had to squeeze another update in before the beginning of the games!

dralin321: Yeah... its gonna be worse that Black Friday with free stuff....

hamsterTK: Yeah.... it was a nightmare to make.... and I'm so not going to delete it....

zelgadis: Yeah.... I like mileage.... it saves on gas 3.gif

    Skram: Thanks!

ccecill: Well, its starting... and I hope to really raise the bar and put on the best Simlympics I can!

bokrif: There should be more time... go to the Simlympics thread and click on the link Slacker has to go to the Simlympics site...

jacqulina: Hope you enjoy you're first cameo in Windsor Park... expect another very soon!

Well.... I now present.... the December 2007 Simlympics at Windsor Park...

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    update91rl5.jpg

....as we near the final leg of the torch running. The torch is being carried by Lt. Jacqulina, a detective on the Windsor Park Police Dept.

Lt. Jacqulina, known for her work with inner-city youths and her work on tracking down the fugitive responsible for the January attacks of the city including the Interlink Building, was voted for by the city to light the torch. She's now at the base of the fountain.... and she has now started the flame on the base... and we now are happy to bring you news that the Simlympics are officially ready to begin!

The fountain is based on the torch runner of ancient Greek design, and expected to be another wonderful place to visit during the Simlympics events.

    update92nd4.jpg

We now go live on scene near Ruewin Tower, where the festivities have started.

This year's pyrotechnics display is being conducted by Windsor-based Incidema Pyrotechnics, and being paid for by various corporate sponsors. The display is expected to last until 11pm tonight, and we urge all visitors and citizens to join in on the festvities!

    update93qy9.jpg

After talks with the International Simlympics Committee, games will begin on Wednesday, allowing for various nations to practice and take in the different events, historical sppots, and even shopping, as well as adjust to the cold weather in the area.

The events schedule for the event will be posted soon on the ISC site.

    update94fd7.jpg

Tonight at Interlink, Movian pop singer, London Ritz, will be making her American debut, as thousands of Movian nationals visiting the city swarm the arena. Already sold out as of 6am this morning, the event is likely to be a standing room only concert.

Sorry it took so long to post the next update.... been setting up my new iPod Touch... Christmas shopping.... working double shifts at work....

So, to get a move on it, the replies...

KingTitan: Thanks! Yeah.... it may have come from Chicago.... kinda just stole if from a tv site....

zelgadis: Lol! You crazy rest of the world and your logical metricness.... shame on you 3.gif

dralin321: Thanks! It's a slightly old BAT, but its still great and serves it's purpose! 4.gif

jacqulina: Trust me, you have another spot coming up! It's going to be a shocker!

suplado!: Thanks! Lol... chaotic? Me?? BTW, congrats on the Trixie!

bbfan02: Thanks! It took a lot of PS there, but I think it came out fairly well!

Shingure: Yet... thats the keyword... Thanks for the visit!

CarmieHilton: Heh.... yep... Way I feel, it's time to make the Simlympics a unified event. Thus why I'm going to try and feature every CJ competeing that I can! Obviously though, Movia and Turion get special spotlight on it!

ky72x: Yeah... that one was hard to work out, but I think it came out rather well!

Skram: Thanks! Yep... its just overlay with a slight transparency....

Well, now to the update, much overdue!

After on field glitches this morning with the track lighting, warm ups will again be scheduled. The glitch, caused by a faulty timer code, sent athlete's warming up in complete darkness this morning.

Fortunately, no athlete's were injured when this happened, and Simlympics officials state that the issue has been resolved.

Excitement has finally died down after today's competition at Riverside Stadium after the Middle Distance competitions.

Phoenioa lead the event, running for gold, after a narrow win against Normandy. Also making highlights is the photofinish between Olympus and Normandy that took nearly 20 mins to verify.

    update103gy6.jpg

Also taking place today, Polo at Qualtiy Hill. The country of Solomon also placed gold in the unusually warm weather this afternoon. However, it nearly lost its medal in a tough fight with Silesia.
