Hey Twiggy,

Yeah, I cheat too. But basically just plopping lots of things. Growing gets boring to me because usually after a while, you just get random collaborations of the same buildings which, in my opinion, looks a bit ridiculous. When you see that about a Japanese site that Zel found, you reminded me that there are a lot of Japanese castle BATs out there but like I said earlier, they don't seem to capture the massive scale of the buildings as you would feel in real life. And yes, I am quite fascinated with Japan. I'm a big fan of the Japanese cinema (mainly Godzilla, and other kaiju [giant monster]), and I collect several Japanese toys, etc. Very interesting. Probably surprising to you, but hey you find out something new about someone each day, eh?

I, too, wish there were buttons for such things in Sim City 4.

Now, on the update; I like that you used Jacky's Cabin at the edge of your city to sort of transition into the rural areas. It's a nice simple touch that I find really stands out. On the second pic, nice little row of W2W (Wall-to-Wall) buildings you've got there. Pretty interesting idea of combining the Mediterranean buildings with the other European style buildings. You've got to love Frogface's work and Odd_from_Sweden's. I love the Newville Hospital BAT as well. That's one of my favorites from APTX (a Japanese BATer . . . What a coincidence? lol). The shot with Glenni's restaurant reminded of that commercial with the father and son that go to Norway and order some sort of "special" meat and are shoving the plate with it back and forth like they don't want to eat it. Nice little European styled atmosphere you have in that picture as well. A little bit of a transition from the last few pictures that bring me a little bit more of an American or Canadian city vibe.

Ok, no more guides for a while. There may be one coming out on a holiday soon…it happens to involve hearts, candy, and lurve ()…but I’m not guaranteeing anything. Anyway, here is the update.

Despite its lack of creative nomenclature, Newville has many oddities to ponder upon.

First, we observe the most randomly placed minigolf course ever:

A park celebrating a small, pink butterfly? Residents of Newville have yet to figure this one out.

Traffic is a bit congested here thanks to tourists slowing down and peering at this mysterious monument.  No one knows the meaning of the symbol in the middle: are they just too stupid to figure it out, or is there really some profound revelation attached to it?

There was nothing really weird about this picture, I just liked all the colorful housing.

Looks like Farmer Bob made an oopsie. And why does he have so many people grouped in threes working in his fields?

Hey Twiggy,

Nice update once again!  I like the realistic addition of the soundwalls around the park.  I don't know if you've been catching up with my BAT career ( ) but as I've been driving around on the highways and such throughout the Dayton region, I've been really liking those types of walls and think we could always use some more especially with nice suburban textures.  I really like the second picture which features the walls again but with the rowhomes behind them, that looks like yet another nice little urban community.  You may be stereotyping on my name but it's about right!  I've also always liked Chinese dragons and such (I wish I was born on the year of the dragon, though, lol . . . . ).  Oh and I noticed you had a few triangular blocks with houses and such that have empty green spaces showing, have you thought about adding Prepo's diagonal parks instead there?

Since this is February, I am starting a four-part story about…you guessed it…love. The last part will be on Valentine’s Day, if everything goes according to plan lol.

Hope it doesn’t bore you to death, I am not the greatest at writing short stories.

By the way, it’s intentionally supposed to be cheesy (you know I can’t write any other way! )

And no one makes fun of my artwork !!

Senor Sim's mansion is really nice, but that car in the driveway sure doesn't show it! Well, it could be some kind of priceless vintage car. Nice artwork, it's great to see it again! I can't wait for more of this story.
