It's a good thing you weren't building when the computer crashed! Who knows what you could have lost, a great row of W2W buildings, a shopping district, or even a park. I hope you had a great Christmas, Twiggy. Can't wait for another update!

Hey all!  I just had a wonderful day of shopping with Christmas money, and it reminded me of this update I needed to post lol.  Here, for your convenience, is a very handy guide to shopping in Tierra de la Oscuridad.  It is by no means an exhaustive list.  Oh, and my apologies to Shanna; I promised her a house in this update!!  I totally forgot though, and so will showcase it in the next.  9.gif

The Richland Building has a variety of small stores for everyone.

    353bba7c.jpg

Border’s is a good place to get…how did you guess?…books and music!

    de86dce7.jpg

I love these small Mediterranean shops and cafés in an older section of town.

    64026ddd.jpg

Fry’s has the latest computers, games, music, TVs, and other various electronics. (It also sells this game called SimCity Societies!)

    a5fd2343.jpg

Trend Fashions carries all the latest in-vogue Tierran apparel.

    a6abb49f.jpg

Can’t afford Trend Fashions? Le Pointe Boutique sells the exact same items, only at much lower prices. (Hmmm…2.gif  However, there is no picture of this store available, mostly because of a most inconvenient computer crash.  (27.gif

    Hey Twiggy,

Excellent urban shopping area!  It very much reminds me a lot of the suburbs around the Indianapolis area close to where I live.  I'm glad that you used nofunk's Borders in that area instead of SimGoober's because his is much more urban looking where SimGoober's is more meant for a small, less cramped area!  I've never heard of Fry's Electronics.  Do you know what region has those type of stores?  3.gif

    Looking forward to more,

    DragonAnime/Chris

I should've known than an update like this was coming! 3.gif

Nice work, Twiggy! Great descriptions of the various shops around the region. I liked the small B&W images you provided for some of the shops, they looked pretty cool. Great use of spa's buildings; lately I've been using them quite a bit in my cities. What's that power plant doing by the Fry's store? Maybe it needed its own personal generator to power all of the electronics in that sprawling building, lol. Anyways, keep it up, I'm looking foward for more!

No twiggy, just no, you just simply don't buy books at a suburban box store, that is as classy as living in a trailer with a girl named John.17.gif

    Nice update though3.gif

Hey DA! (Chris?)  Lol, really? I don’t know what style of citybuiding I have… Although Im glad to know it looks somewhat realistic.  So you live near Indy?  Actually, I don’t think I’ve seen SimGoober’s Borders, and it probably has too many dependencies anyway! 3.gif Rofl, according to Wiki, Fry’s has stores in a lot of States. 3.gif See ya!

Thanks!  That was a good idea, I hope the result (in this update) isn’t too hideous.  I’ve never worked with Asian architecture before.  The castle I downloaded (by ragutaro) looks really good, even though it’s from like 2004, lol.  Thanks, glad you liked the Photoshopping!  I saw it done in a journal one time and thought it was a cool way to highlight a building.

Of course!  In the update I have included a house for you, if you’d like it.  4.gif

It was inevitable I’d do one on shopping. 3.gif I use Spa’s buildings probably way too much lol.  They’re very nice BATs though. LOL, I don’t know why the powerplant is there, but that’s a pretty good explanation! 3.gif Thanks for your comments, Kyle!

Hey, hot dogs!  Yeah, I saw your use of the med. buildings, I liked how you incorporated them in the farms.  Way better than what I do (plop, add streets, take picture 3.gif)  Thanks for the comment!
