Cool teaser. I like the depth of field effect. I assume you photoshopped it. If so, then could you tell me how you did it?

Can't wait for the "Industry City" update! 4.gif

dralin321 Smokey indeed! I certainly wouldn't want to breathe that air...

ccecill Thanks, I really like that effect to... I sat staring at that pic pretty much all day at work yesterday, haha... It is a photoshop trick, basically I just used the blur tool to blur the stuff up close and far away. Not too difficult, but has a really neat effect.

Shadow_Assassin SA! Good to see you back in these parts. Haha, indeed, much has transpired in your stead. Hey, you've still got a big property in the burbs that needs developing, if you wait too much longer the city will expropriate it. Thanks for the comments!

penguin007 Thanks, more industry to come... I dont think I've done any industrial updates... haha. There's no better time than the present to start eh?

    26_title_block.jpg

Ok, so. I was thinking, and what major city didn't start off as a dense clump of housing and industry? Nemonos didn't so I wanted to rectify the situation.

Meet, Madison (yes, thats of Madison county see previous update... oh and there are bridges too!2.gif). This will, I hope, become a more realisticly grown city.

I'll start off with a nice overview mosaic.

    middle_1a.jpg

    middle_1c.jpg

    middle_1e.jpg

    middle_1f.jpg

    bottom_1.jpg

What a thoroughly disgusting place! Air pollution is a very serious problem. So much so it actually blocks out most of the daylight, hence why its so dark.

Industry and housing co-mingle, especially in the south shore. This was very common in the industrial era as people needed to live close to work.

    night_1.jpg

The baseball diamond in the above pic is the only park in the entire city. The government feels industrial growth is more important that greenspace, another industrial era ideal.

    night_2.jpg

Here's another pic of industry belching acrid smoke onto housing.

    top_2.jpg

    middle_2.jpg

    bottom_2.jpg

Along the main street there are numerous large public housing projects. People gotta live somewhere right?

    chemical_housing.jpg

This neighbourhood is one of the least attractive in the city. Housing is directly abutting toxic chemical plants. During this time period few knew of the dangers of chemicals and so waste was dumped into the streets and waterways. As with all areas in the Industrial City, crime here is extremely high.

Beautiful stuff. The industrial city is awesome, and on your previous pictures, the parks and trees are just great. Enjoyable to look at. I don't know how I've missed this journal for so long. Kudos!

Giligone! Long time no talk. This latest update (slums, factories, pollution) caters to my building taste. Frankly, you've given me some ideas on how to build a nice dilapidated area for my CJ. 19.gif

Very low class! And such a horrible environment for children, if there are any at all! But the mosaics are fantastic!

Indeed, it's very depressing. The sound wall's for a gated community, isn't it?

As for that block of land, er, can you refresh my memory? 3.gif

Wow, impressive! You really get a feeling for Madison with the way you've photoshopped the pics, and the night time effects. Some great use of custom content too to fit the city perfectly. Really nice attention to transit running through these neighborhoods as well! The whole city reminds me of a slice out of the south Bronx. Excellent work! 4.gif

It's funny, cause I live in Madison County, Mississippi... and the city of Madison is the complete opposite of a lifeless, industrial city...

    Cool update. *opens up photoshop*

    Congratulations.

I've looked back at the lot that's yet to be developed. It's around Cairn, on Highway 2, isn't it?

In any case, I'd like to build a logistics centre (with warehouses and whatnot) there for Savannah Coffee. I suggest you make your own lot using cogeo's logistics centres. 3.gif Also, I'd like to build a office complex next to the facility (away from the highway, on the main road, mind!), using the Civic Centre on the SC4DLEX by mattb25.

Sc4_cewl Thanks so much for stopping by, I'm glad you like my work. Hope to see you around here more often.

Benedict That's the aim of the game, haha. Thanks.

SpecialEddie Haha, long time indeed. I went MIA there for a couple months. I've been wanting to do some serious ghettos for a long time now, I recently just aquired a set of bats that really made it possible. 9.gif Ooo, ideas... I look forward to some more grit in gotham. haha.

dralin321 Haha, very horrible indeed. I suspect there are a few kicking around. The city has no schools so... send them to the factories!38.gif haha.

    Dsrwhat316 Thank you.

Simfan34 Haha, isn't it though?! How awful would it be to live in a place like this...

Shadow_Assassin Mmmmm, good eye. Its sort of a gated community...

Mikeaut1 Thank you. No doubt NY has influences in this, it was afterall an Industrial city once too.

ccecill Haha, **checks google maps** yea... this is nothing like your Madison. Haha, will I be seeing some new photoshop effects in Alton/Upton soon?

    penguin007 Thanks, and thanks 9.gif

GreekMan Haha, you should have been watching more closely. Maybe for 2000 I'll get the post? haha. Its onnnnn!!!  oh... and thanks.

Schulmanator Thank yee, and thank yee. 16.gif

redhed55 Thanks, thats pretty much what I was aiming for, haha. The street mod? I... ummm.. something by jeronjj I think.

ccecill Thank you, you're too kind.43.gif

LegoMyDego28 Thank you for your support 4.gif

Godzillaman Haha, ahh yes, that does kind of give it away, but not totally, **laughs mischeviously**. They very well do, poor suckers who live there though, haha. 11.gif Thanks for stopping by my CJ, come back again.

Shadow_Assassin Thanks, actually... thats the first property you bought, that one you turned into a hotel district. This is the one that remains undeveloped. Its just on the west side of the large forest in the middle of Nemonos County (see previous regional update maps)

    com-res_sold.jpg

Do you still want a logistics centre?

Inusion X Very dark indeed, thanks.

    suplado! Thanks. 4.gif

Wow! You know normally I'm greedy and post in my CJ last so it's at the top, but definitely not for Nemonos. I'm just kidding I don't but even if I did this would be the last one I post in because this is my favorite cj and I am going to nominate you again this year for a Trixie and YOU WILL WIN! That city of Madison...oh yuck that is so disgusting 3.gif...yet at the same time I can't stop looking at it. I love it. Though I don't want to live there. It's amazing how it's the total opposite from downtown Nemonos. And the maps--yes the region maps--nice idea of splitting them into counties! Creative. Overall AWESOME as always and congrats on the 1000 posts! I'm at...what...160? 3.gif

IDS2 Haha, thanks for your long standing support of my cj. 9.gif I'm glad you like Madison so much. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Haha, you are right... its really the opposite of the downtown... I guess I've got both extremes covered now! haha. 1000 posts indeed, well. Nemonos is almost 1 year old so... just be patient and you can get that high in posts too. Thanks again.
