First look:

Okay the first round of getting "more" from the game than you thought possible is here. The Extra Cheats DLL file is now primed and ready! Put in your regular plugins dir

Open up a city, hit "Ctrl+X" and right click the box. You should now see a list of "cheats".

DrawPaths does the above, HidePaths... duh...

"Moolah #" add funds into your city. :-)

I'll post a complete list of cause/effect cheats when I have it all compiled.

Where do I put the plugin file. And will the "Moolah" code work then? I'm sick of writing weaknesspays 4 ever with no profit....

Where do I put the plugin file.

In your Plugins folder in My Documents. If it doesn't work there, try placing it in the one in Program Files.

Yes, all you have to do is enter Moolah, then a space, then the amount you want to have in your treasury.

The extra cheats dll file needs to be directly under your Plugins folder with no sub-folders. Works just fine for me, and I am on Linux.

Depending on what link you used (and there are a bunch), it may have been an old one that doesn't work any more. This one should be working.

Um, does the DLL have a population cheat? I tried the cheat "population increase" to see if it'd add 1 million people to a city like it says on some websites. It didn't. I'm not saying I need a cheat like that, I'm just asking out of curiosity if the DLL has any pop. cheats...

You can see a complete list of commands by right clicking in the dialog box.

Absolutely epic! First time I loaded the .dll file via a folder called cheats at the TOP of my plugins folder... Didn't work but I didn't give up yet.

Next, I tried putting the extracheats.dll file at the TOP of the parent directory, plugins, without putting it in a subfolder like I had before. WORKS!

Now I am going to work on making realistic suburbs! Thanks for all the help and solutions on the first 5 pages of the thread!

You simply put the .dll file into you My documents/ simcity/ plugins. Make sure that it isn't in another folder.

you then go into simcity, press control + X, and a grey box will appear in the upper left. Then by right (or is it left?) clicking on the right side of the box, a dropdown will appear with all the cheats. Select one, and then press enter for it to go.

Just a slight amendment. Some of the commands have operands. If there is one, it is separated from the command by a space. If the operand has spaces in it (a city name) it must be enclosed in quotes. Examples:

moolah 500000

whererufrom "Over the Hill"

It isn't quite so simple, and you need to understand this. Generally, if the operand is a string of characters and not a number put it in quotes.

I've tryed twice to get it to work. It won't bring up the window to do it. Its a nice try though. Some people seem to not have luck. PM me with ideas to get it to work

Have you tried rebooting your computer after adding the file to your plugins folder?

I am running Vista, and when I first put the SimCity 4 Extra Cheats Plugin.dll in my plugins folder I was able to call up the 'Cheat Window' but was not able to use any cheats until I shut down and restarted my pc.

Say rather that it has unlocked the debugging commands in the program. The word "cheat" is a misnomer for undocumented features that work as opposed to bugs, which are undocumented features that don't work.

You should have started your own thread, because this request is surely off topic. I hope some nice moderator will move it.

1. You use the camera to take a snap of your screen. If you don't know how, try CTRL+Shift+s.
2. Close the game.
3. Navigate to C:\<user>\Documents\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Albums\<your city name> folder
4. In this folder you will find at least one .png image that you can then post to a web site, for example photobucket.
5. Upload your picture(s) to photobucket, and with this site still open
6. Open the Simtropolis forum you want to post your image into in another tab.
7. Start a post.
8. On the tool bar, there is a happy face icon which turns on smileys. Two icons to the right of that there is an icon that, if you hover your mouse over it say "insert image'. Click on this icon then switch to the tab containing your photos.
9. In the photo site find the URL of the photo you want, copy it (CTRL+c), switch to the Simtropolis tab and paste (CTRL+v) the URL in the space provided when you opening the insert image icon.
10. Click on the Insert Image button on the drop down window.
11. Done.

This will insert a PNG image the same size as your screen. The site will automatically resize it.

Finish your post and push the Add Reply button.

I don't remember hearing if it requires Deluxe or not. I believe the original file pre-dates Deluxe, but who knows...

Did you try to place the .dll file in the C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\Plugins (if SC4 even has one - I don't remember)? It works for me in either Plugins folder, but I have read that some find that it works in one but not the other. Just a thought...
