How would you rate your parallel parking skills form 1-10? For me who live in a city where people rarely parallel park, I rate myself as a 8.

^^^

lol

i would rate myself a 5.... just enough to not bump the other cars lol

I dont have to parallel park much, there is only one part of my town where you have to do it, and there I usually park in a parking garage and walk. This is because the public one in my town is free for the first hour, versus the parking meters which need change regardless. Since I am in that part of town usually not very long just stopping inside a place to eat usually then its free

Even if was better at it I would still avoid it. I drive really old buick which is built like a tank and drives like one too3.gif

10 I'm quite good at parallel parking my bike.quote>

haha lol. Actually Ive done it 2 times in my life, once in Drivers Ed, once on my road test. The road test I did it between 2 cars and the examniner told me she has never seen anyone do it so perfectly before.43.gif

And since that day I vow to myself that I will never do it again.

I have to brag, im really good at parallel parking. I drive a hatchback, and I can cram it into the smallest spaces, no problem. Just zip right in there, not too close or too far from the curb.. Even when I occationaly get boxed in, with only a few inches on either end, I can get out.

My best friend on the other hand, I have to get out and direct him.

I'm as good as I need to be. Though I think I'm capable of it, however, I still wouldn't try to parellel park bewteen two cars- if there's one on front or one behind, ok, but not both.

I'm alright, but I always end up slightly askew, and the wheels are turned one way or another. Then the guy behind me is usually screwed because I've backed up too far. Meh.

Parallel parking was invented by the devil.

I use city buses. Much simpler.

I'd give myself an 8. My station wagon has no blindspots and it is really easy to tell how close to the other vehicles it is because it is a rectangle on wheels. I have also been able to successfully parallel park my 1970 Toronado which comes in at a hair under 18 feet in length. Most of the on-street parking in Fargo in parallel and I had a lot of practice from towns back home also. I really screwed it up on my driver's test, but still passed.

When I was still driving, I think I was a 9 or 10.  Never any problems, and slick as grease.

These days, without a right eye, and limited ability to rotate my head, I don't drive except in dire emergencies.

8... I never seem to be close enough to the curb when I get out... but im still to crash while parking, so far so good.

Acctually, when I was learning to drive I accidently let off the handbrake and hit a parked Van... snapping the registration plate, lol. I sped away before somebody noticed.

I'd give myself  a 7. I do fairly well at parallel parking with my 1997 Honda CRV. Like El Burro, I also never get close enough to the curb. In high school, I backed into two cars (at different times) in the parking lot with the 1986 Isuzu Trooper that I drove. My dad installed sensors on the back bumper of my '97 CRV that I got in 2003. Parallel parking is a bit easier for me since I can tell the distance between me and the car behind me. The fact I have an "assist" is the justification of the score I give myself.

I'd say I'm about an 6/10 don't really do it that much except on the road test and one other time.

I assume you're talking about the Lexus LS460.  Mercedes-Benz has one also (CLK I believe), though theirs isn't as advanced as Lexus'.  It's quite impressive, though I think you need something like 6 feet of space behind the car to have it park itself.  Not really practical, but something fun to show off  nonetheless.

I've only parallel parked once, on the test for my license.  I barely passed, and haven't done it since, though I'm not sure I've had the oppotunity since then.
