RushHourFreak    Right now, unfortunately, Schulmania is still isolated from the rest of the world. But, the time will come where they will discover new places out there. When they do, I am sure they will have visa applications available. Perhaps I should go ahead and reserve the website www.schulmania.sch for when that day comes!

Asturianu   Gracias! I am glad you like the newspaper. A fishy newspaper, fit to wrap fish in once read! There are a few hints about the upcoming Schulmania holidays in it too. BTW, a few updates from now you will find something with a familiar name in it!

RushHourFreak     Fear not! A new catalog of Busscastle chocolates for Schulman Day will be out soon!

Asturianu       Indeed! Busscastle chocolates come from Busscastle, one of the four original Schulminion settlements on Schulmanicus island. That's where they grow the cacao. It is one of many chocolate production centers in Schulmania, but is the largest and best known. Be sure to save your schulmonetas and purrs for the new catalog coming soon! Tienes hambre?

    sc4portugal    Thanks!

Jacqulina     Thanks! The poster is from the chocolate company's promotional materials. And, a new catalog is coming soon!

Archangel9     Glad you like it! A new year's treat!

    Hester     Glad you like them!

Jacqulina     Thanks! I love the Mickebear buildings and will have them in a few more places before the next stage in Schulmania begins. Of course, there will be plenty of reprises as well! And, you are welcome for the ice cream!

Asturianu     I am glad you enjoy Schulminion cuisine! You have to wonder how they stay healthy will all of those treats... a good reason to be a sim rather than a human - all cyber-calories!

RushHourFreak     Thanks! I tried to have plenty of "Schul" prefixes for roads and last parts being derivatives of Latin American places, in keeping with the Spanish-Mediterranean feel of the place. Hence, Schulmanagua, Schulmanero and so forth. It also keeps with my continuous proclamations of designs of world conquest. I tell my wary friends that all will be renamed in my honor; this is just a prelude!

Fallon144   Glad you enjoyed the snack. This particular dish is the "Mount Creamicus" - a mountain of vanilla ice cream, the summit of which is in the whipped cream clouds and has a planted cherry flag on top. Rocks of butter glazed pecans flow down rivers of caramel and chocolate.

Curious... I am getting very hungry.....

Nanumea    Thanks! It is difficult to keep an old look when the game is designed for cars and sprawl, but I have been able to do a decent job of it. The NAM has helped a lot with keeping vehicles out and without the STEX there would be nothing ancient or old at all!

Spotlight on Schulminion Culture: Schulman Day

    schulmanday2007fu8.jpg

The official logo for Schulman Day '07

Schulman Day is one of the most important observances in Schulmania. It is observed on 01/14, the fourteenth day of Schulmanuary (the month resumes being January after Schulman Day). It is the date of birth of the mythological founder of Schulmania, Schulmanicus Rex. This event is marked with great celebrations, parties, gift exchanges and feasts. It is similar in scale to Christmas celebrations. Other major Schulminion holidays include Wirdle Day (02 April) and Day of Schulmania (01 July).

There are many legends and traditions that go along with this holiday. Much like the rich and varied local traditions revolving around Christmas, different versions of gift giving and holiday cheer have developed over time and grown as part of Schulminion culture. Some of the key characters in the Schulman Day tale are the Holiday Hawk, bringer of glad tidings, and Belle, the vulture who brings woe to those who displease her. Cultural anthropologists see similarities between these two and Santa Claus' "naughty or nice" lists with gifts of toys or lumps of coal. Another, different type of character is Ambassador Robert Fox. He delivers tasty treats to those who have been good neighbors and friends. As the run-up to Schulman Day continues, each of these principals will be explored in greater detail.

So, for now, as they say in Schulmania: "Happy Schulman Day... Celebrate your Schulmanity!"

    Hello schulmanator,

since you were so kind to visit my cj and leave a message i think it is only fair to grant you the pleasure as well. I really love the way you let your civilization evolve, there for your cities are really filled history and make them more real. You have a very very very different playing and building style then me, but i gotta say that i really respect what you have done! I couldnt do it to play with such patience, i want those skyscrapers as fast as possible, but i guess you have totally different goals 9.gif

keep up the good work, i will check back regularly to follow your civilizations progress!

    sincerly yours

Spotlight on Schulminion Culture: Schulman Day

    Legend of the Holiday Hawk

You see, the holiday hawk lives far up in the north. No one is quite sure where as no one has been able to follow him home. He has state of the art monitoring equipment to check up on everyone so he'll always know who deserves a present in Schulmania. You can't pull a fast one on him, no sir-ree bob. He even cross-references his lists with Belle to make sure that only the right people get a gift. After all, it takes a lot of money to buy materials and a lot of time to make things if you only have talons and a beak. So never complain if what you get is a little bit scratched or torn or else end up on Belle's list and it will be liver and onions for a month for you!

So with a mighty cheer he flies out with gifts in tow ready to spread happiness and joy wherever he goes. So if you've been good you might want to look out the window into the trees and see if the holiday hawk has left something for you.

Asturianu Gracias! I will be happy to provide you with yummy Schulmania treats as payment for that fine house in Ontario you got me. I love the lake!

infinitum19 Thanks! The crowds are biggest right around the time of the big Schulman Day parade - it winds its way across Schulmanicus from Busscastle to Wanda to Stell to Smightower - the grandest procession in the nation!

Benedict Thanks! It was a pain to get the triangle right. I must have bad depth perception- I did it like 10x and each time it was offset by 1. Then, FINALLY, I got it! Whew, what a relief!

Jacqulina The new catalog will be coming soon- as one of the BSC Advent inspired Schulmania Holi-daze SD07 updates!

Narya Thank you for coming by. I am glad you like it and look forward to your coming back to see more!

Benedict Thanks! It took me forever to come up with an old looking logo!

Raptor5ix That's ok... dogs are welcome, too, as long as they recognize the alpha cat as the leader of their pack!

Mkwetters Thank you for coming by. Schulmania is always happy to have new guests and we hope you will come back and check up on us periodically. This style of building is new to me as well. Up until a short while ago, I was trying to top 2.5 million in a city tile. Then, I decided I was ready for something different. 1.2 gigs of STEX later and here we are!

Cowcorn Thanks and glad you like it. Hope the Holiday Hawk will bring you something good!

RushHourFreak Thanks! Glad this put you in the holiday spirit!

tbone04044 If you have been good, the Holiday Hawk may be bringing you something nice!!

Zipme17 Thanks! He will be sure to drop something nice off at your house!

Jacqulina Thanks! The Holiday Hawk, by the way, was photographed by my brother in the woods near our house. He inspired us to develop the legend. And then the others came about in roughly the same way. Isn't he a good photographer?

    Holiday hawk? Now that's new.

I'll echo zelgadis: Bartender! Get me a double shot of whatever Schulmanator is having.

I work for the US Army. I go places, visit mean people, and kill them.

Winston Churchill is generall credited for saying something to the effect of: "People sleep soundly in their beds because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf". That about sums up my life, besides the "rough men" part.

Oh, great logos as always, man. Great. Oh, you are very welcome, my friend. The house in Ontario is a bit cold in winter, no? But I think you use it only in summer, no?

Gracias. Muy bonito diario de ciudad.

You don't have to pay the house, man, but yummy Schulmania trats sounds cool. Sounds like I'm hungry again. No, no, really, sounds interesting.
