Summer isn't over. Day is still longer than night, most of the leaves are still green, and it went up to 33C/91F today.

But I agree, school does suck.

Summer ended over 3 weeks ago for me.

The leaves are changing colors! Yes!

I started school again yesterday... So "summer" is over for me...

Leaves are already starting to fall and change colour, though the weather is unseasonably sunny and warm. 1.gif

The report of the death of summer is greatly exaggerated.  Officially, it is supposed to suspend itself for 9 months starting on the 21st of September.  The fact that some of you are now enjoying your school experiences, once again, has little to do with the seasons.

Some schools are trimestered.  This means there are three sessions with one to two week breaks in  between.

Of course, being retired, I don't consider summer ended until the first snow fall.

Well it definitely does not look like the end of summer here, it is as hot and humid as ever, so its a shame that I have had to go back to school, but we must get our education some how. 1.gif

I consider the summer over when the swimming pools close.  and that happened last weekend.  15.gif

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

Ugh, the most depressing part of the year for me! 15.gif

Today was my first day of school.. and it was quite cool today too, low 70's.

Swimming pools are still open around here though... they might close up by next weekend.

Summer isn't over until the leaves have 90% changed colour and are starting to fall. We got our first snow a few weeks ago so we can't use that rule here.

I would consider today to be the last day of summer for Fargo, ND, as the current temperature is 83°, leaves are just starting to change color, and the high tomorrow is 62°. Oh, this is also the third week of classes. This is the last day I burn alive in my south-facing, un-air-conditioned dorm room, so I am not sorry to see summer go. Bring on the snow!
