I agree John, I'd say the Pern books are among the best Sci-Fi/Fantasy books going, but there is no sign of those books being made into movies anytime soon, so....

Believe it or not folks, I am reading the circle trilogy by Nora Roberts.  Good guys vs. the Vampires in a multiple world universe.  Some hot sex, but mostly good fantasy.

N_O_Body: wow, *visiting amazon to buy Nora Roberts's books* 9.gif

edit: BTW, I have read both Prelude to Founation and Foundation by Asimov, and I must say those were some VERY interesting books! I really enjoyed the quality, it's also a type of book that I can go back to later and read again, and it would still surprise me!

I also read "Infinity Beach" by Jack McDevitt and I can only say positive things about that book too, Incredible Sci-Fi book about humanity's first encounter with an alien species. A must!

take care,

ExiL3:  Watch our for Nora Roberts.  Some of here stuff is no better than a Harlequin Romance.  If you like police procedurals set 50 years in the future though, try the J.D. Robb "Death ..." series (Nora's alternate pen name).

You should read the rest of the foundation trilogy "Foundation and Empire" and "Second Foundation" as well as the two mystery novels "Caves of Steel" and "The Naked Sun".  Asimov was one of the greatest.

And for something a little different, try Robert A Heinlein's "Methusala's Children".  You will really like the Howard Families saga.

N_O_Body: Cool, thanks mate. I'll have to buy some new books soon, it's not like 5 to 10 dollars is going to set me back a lot. A good book is worth way more than it's paper 2.gif

Well, today I exercised by Chapters/Indigo gift cards and picked up some books.  In particular I got The Grantville Gazette, Volumes II and III.

For those of you who have not read Eric Flint's 1632 series about a West Virginia mining town being injected into the Thirty Years' War, you have missed a hilarious take on historical fiction.

idk if it was mentioned, but has anyone read any of the Honor Harrington books by David Weber? Great space opera fun, I really like them. I agree, the Foundation series is a must read.
