Fort Folley was reviewed by RushHourFreak not too long ago. Here are some snippets:

...when you look at the next pic, a great gateway entrance to the city welcomes you. Excellent idea 1dera3...
...
just like you're traveling by car between cities...
...
canal gives the city an artistical and pleasant ambient, and you feel like being there...
...
looking each pic closely, you'll find a world of details...
...it
has an excellent transportation network...
...
this CJ is one of the most realistic and detailed... quote>

Thanks for the review, it was excellent! I'm glad you like Fort Folley! 48.gif

For this CJ, I'll be using a map about 3 large cities wide and 8 long. The big blue river runs throughout it, which was made in the 3D region terraformer thing (which is incredibly awesome!). I'm using the RCI Income mod, a bunch of Jeronij's walls and road stuff, the BSC canal stuff, the NAM (duh), a few sprinkles of the Plop Mod, and one hell of a lot of ploppable seasonal woods, both jeronij's and pegasus'. Enjoy this new CJ by me!

This is a picture of Fort Folley. It is a small community with farms to the northwest; they are the only ones that remain after everything else has been developed. Its population is only about 10,000 now, but it is quickly growing. There is already a vast monorail network and an advanced avenue system throughout the county. It only has a few skyscrapers, none of them more than 20 or so stories. Here are a bunch of more or less random pictures:

One of the main entrances via avenue to the county.

Here's one of the biggest neighborhoods on the North Side.

img002yx1.jpg
One of three roundabouts near the Shedd Jr. Aquarium.

img003ss2.jpg
A strip of the monorail cutting through the Middle Woods.

img004hi5.jpg
More of the big neighborhood on the North Side.

img005ut8.jpg
A roundabout in the C19-FFRR corridoor.

img006lp9.jpgLake Folley, outside of the Shedd Jr. Aquarium, along Lake Folley Drive.

img007ic7.jpg
An office building just outside the Middle Woods.

img008pt0.jpg
Detail of the avenue and monorail system on the North Side. This is the more developed part of town.

That's all for this first update of a brand new CJ! I hope my HD won't crash in the middle of this one!

Great start. Could I just suggest to hit the G key while taking pics, it turns the grid off. Other than that this is an awsome City. I cant wait to see this expand!

I like how the roads are layed out around the houses and commercial buildings with lots of trees. Very nice "lake," and I will look forward to see where the monorail goes. I already look forward to more of this journal!

Interesting...seems very north American, but some of the last pictures make me think maybe Western Europe....

Either way your new CJ looks great and I'm sure it will do well!

Great start and good luck!

@All: Thanks a bunch for your comments! 2.gif If I don't get to you directly, please know that I still appriciate your replies.

@Yoman3: Yeah, I realized that I had the grid on right after I took the picture. I wanted to get the CJ out as soon as I could, so I didn't retake it.

@Michael1980: I use morifari's old embankment lots. I don't know if they're still on the STEX; morifari hasn't been around for a while.

@cjah: Hey, good to see you here! Of course it looks North American. That's where I live. 3.gif It's modeled a liitle bit after my town: avenues first, then roads, then sidestreets, then zones, then trees & parks, with no grid at all, except for downtown.

@guitarist4816: That neat little entrance thing is sone of pegasus' first MTP lots. Search for "peg MTP" on the STEX. It should still be there.

I should update in a few days. Be patient! I need to work on the city!

EDIT: Sorry, morifari. I spelled your username wrong.quote>

Let's knock on wood ... and I do hope you are going to make backups ... I do appreciate mine since I had permanent HD problems for months which is why I couldn't update my CJ for months .... 30.gif

Good start and great work with the trees! Monorail ... I used it last time in my pre ST pre Digby time .... but it looks nice. I am just not sure if these dams (Morifari's embankment) are adequate because afaik monorails are always like the standard ingame but then ... who cares ... it looks good!

My favourite one is u1-9, that single highrise in the woods is just great! 16.gif

Take care and make backups! 49.gif

    Nice CJ.

Nice work on that avenue junction and the elevated train, although I have to admit it is rather difficult to get to that train station, blocked by residential towers.

    The aquarium looks great!

Oh and yeah, your banner is top!
