    Edmonton December 15th...

I've done some further work on the city center airport map. Trying to get the Calder rail yards together aswell as some industrial buildings in the area. I still have alot of work to do to get it to the accuracy I want. But heres another small update to show progress in the area along with a small google comparison.

Where do you get all those beautiful Edmonton photos you use to start off each page? I'm amazed at how well the city has been photographed.

I'm in awe at how long you have been working on this and when your estimated finish time is. This is a great project you have going on.

    Palmgurl, Jasperdeman.nl, Justin82 : Thank You...

Quito : For the pictures at the top of each page I get alot of them from the internet. And some of them are pictures I have taken from around the city. I like to try and show people different pictures and angles of Edmonton to give people who have never been here a feeling fo the city. I am thinking of showing some of Edmontons mundane or average areas in upcoming pictures. This will show everyday Edmonton.

Ajs1, Chocolatmax285, Jacqulina, Cjah, Mr Beer : Thanks for noticing the Calder Railyard. Its not finished but its getting there. It didn't help having to totaly redo everything becuase the map I was using just doesnt match up to google pictures. I'm a little if on other errors I have found on this map now. With most of them coming with rail. For anyone who knows the Calgary Trail area I have found alot of errors with the rail in that part of Edmonton.

ChapmanOSU1 : Yeah once I start something I like to finsh it. Especialy when it means something to me. There are times when i surpries myself at how much work I do and how fast. Then there are other times I don't work on it for a month or so. But its always on the table.

As long as I keep to my two goals...
    -Finish it...
-Make it as accurate as I can without going crazy...

23.gifIt all looks a very nice CJ, but why put so much time and effort into making a city that already exists? surely the idea of simcity was to make new cities with new concepts? When you start making cities using money cheats and ploppable buildings, then your just making a picture and you might aswell use a pen and paper where you don't need to worry about streets that don't go diagonal.

    nice cj tho

could have put the 2 years time and effort into something productive tho, whatever floats ur boat...

ah- does this count as off topic?

Well, he's better than me. I would go stir crazy trying to recreate St. Louis. We have way too many streets in the City, that could be reaslistically shown, and the County is a bit of an urban disaster area. Very curvy streets.

So, TheJerseyDevil73 is doing great on this CJ. I'm enjoying it, and I'll try not to gripe about how bad the St. Louis Blues are playing. 2.gif

When you lower your highways and line the slopes with concrete where can I find those concrete walls you placed?

And can you put up some pictures of Yellowhead, Mayfield, Westmont, and St. Albert Trail I'm curious how you were able to get a strong industrial base going over there.
    Is it all manufacturing?
Is there any dirty industrial in any part of your city of Edmonton?
Where is all the garbage going? I haven't seen any landfills.
Does each city have is own power plant and water facilities?
Can you show the facilities for the above listed cities?
If you tax the rich, which I'm thinking you did so that the houses don't merge to form large estates, does that allow the little middle class homes to remain as they are?
Where are all the rich people?
If you build several parks in any given city will that keep desirability high and the buildings will never be abandoned?

a belated congrats on your Trixies, TJD - they are both very well deserved. to have gone for two plus years at this project shows a lot of persistence and dedication i admire. and the addition of the google map pics in the corner are perfect.
i am glad to see this project has continued, and keep up the great work.
