just one question, i dont know weather u have answered it on previous pages

u have a 'grassy area' surrounding the baseball fields and the high school building how did u get that, i can say that it is definately not the default grass lawn lot and if its a ploppable thing, if it is under what name is it there on STEX?42.gif

City of Edmonton.... Is still in progress but I'm taking another break for a bit while I play UCS and get the larger UCS under way. This is always my main region so when it goes quite for a while...no worries....
As for those park lots they are costum made and available on the STEX Edmonton Trail Pack

The view from above is from the Capilano Bridge at night facing downtown to the west.

    Edmonton - June 16th

Since I've been really busy with USC1 and UCS2 I haven't had time to work on Edmonton. This region is my no.1 and will continue to grow as always.... But for now its been a little slow....

...So while out today I took a few pictures on my from the ballgame and at the game. By the way we beat Calgary 8-1 and a few a few homers. It was my sons forst baseball game.

By the way.... This is Edmonton after 10pm at night in the summer. You can usually see light on the horizon threw the whole night.

Watching the baseball game brings back memories. I used to watch the Trappers play when I lived in Edmonton. That was great fun. But it's two years since I moved, and in Denmark there's no such thing as baseball. So what's the new team called, and what league do they play in?

BTW, TheJerseyDevil73, your CJ is so great. Do you have any idea when you'll start working on the Bonnie Doon Mall and McNally High areas? That was my old school when I lived there, so I'm really looking forward to seeing that.

Don't rub it in or anything. 18.gif Uhh...at least we got 1! So there!

Late summer nights are another reason I love Calgary. The sun sets just a few minutes before 10 here as well. Love those long evenings! BTW why is your team called the Cracker Cats?

    Question regarding this image:

Why couldn't you have just put in angle roads?

Well, it's because they're supposed to be low-speed residential streets. It keeps the traffic from using them as shortcuts, since roads are better. terisu (that's not spelled right I know) is working on a mod that will make those zig-zag streets LOOK like true diagonals, so eventually It'll look better.

Behind the scenes I've been on a quest to make some lots to give cities a feel of realism for the rails. And I've run into many problems. Plus it doesn't help I don't know how to transit enable lots and edit there abilities.
    What I need :
    -A 1x7 Lot (Rail)
    -Transit Enabled
    -Under the Rail Menu
-Appear on Transit view of region as rail
-No need to be beside a road
-And to have the props stay there (not appear and dissapear)
-No need for power or water
    So far I have :
    -A 1x7 lot with props
-And all the other goals not met
This picture below is a zoomed in example of what I'm aiming for. I just don't have the means to do it. If anyone can help please post on this CJ.
When I'm have a working lot I want to make 5 or more lots that could be placed with rail. This will give cities a busy and realistic look aswell as something missing from the game.

jesped8 : They are called the Cracker Cats. Maybe the worst name ever. The Trappers where very successful here. But the turn out for the Cats isn't to good. They go out of there way for the fans. And it was good baseball. I hope they make it.

assim45 : Edmonton is far north. The nights are very short in the summer. And extremely long in the winter. This is one reason why are seasons change so much. We can have anything from 37C to -53C.

Rendar : I don't use diagonal roads because they are small streets. And I don't use the diagonal street mod for half the houses wouldnt grow.

abcd : I never did find anyone who could transit enable those. So they are on the shelf.

I went Mountain Biking today on this nice 28C day. The river here has flooded so I will have pics of it soon to show. It was crazy to see how high it was.

Pretty Much all Canadian Cities in the summer can have light till atleast 11:00pm (sometimes longer) in the Northwest territories the sun never sets in the summer, just goes down a bit then back up, funny huh?

Anyway great job Dan and keep crackin'

Edmonton - Mountain Biking around the flooded river

Some trails in the river valley where closed today with many police officers monitering the valley including the tactical unit in one area as a hub to keep control on people. The river valley is the largest stretch of park in any North American city. With it being 28C the park system was really busy.

Due to the North Saskatchewan river being in such a deep valley there wasn't much damage to the city unlike southern Alberta. The river is flowing at over 3 times its normal flow.

Here are some pictures of my mountain biking trip and the river in areas. The picture of the boat is the Edmonton Queen. A paddle boat that had its dock washed away and is now tied to a moring and some trees lol.

Yeah the height of the river was crazy..Luckily most of the city is above the river valley..the river would probably have to rise 100m ish probably more to get to where i live..which i don;t think will happen anytime soon..i hope. haha

Anyways, i love all of the light we are getting..its midnight and i can still see light out..it makes the days seem so mych lojnger cause i wake up earlier and go to bed later..

but speaking of going to bed i am EXTREMELY tired

    gnight all

nice to post again..havent in too long haha

yeah i'm in calgary and the floods are nuts
we have a huge water restriction going on now too.
filtration plants can't keep up with demand so alota the car washes and stuff liek that are closed.
whent he rivers reached there peak the bow rive which usually flows at around 250 cubic meters/second (i think) was flowing at 2000 cubic meters/second. alota roads were closed and stuff.the glenmore dam (major dam in calgary) was to capacity with flood gates completely open and water was still flowing over top of it. a buncha the city parks are closed because they are either destroyed by water or you can't see the benches. we're still expecting rain later on this week and next so the rivers are still gonna go up.

here are some picture of pretty much south calgary and near the zoo.

It's interesting to see the flooding issues there - we're currently experiencing a DROUGHT here in Sydney.
