Boobster : The intersection in the last picture is made with a lot thats on the Stex...very usefull.
Quito : I'll most likely use a blend of both blended and gaps for rail pending on the area it is.

Every Canada Day (July 1st), Edmonton turns on the High Level Bridge water fall which is 27 feet higher then Niagra Falls. At 11pm they have fire works over the river valley in Downtown.

I'm from Calgary, and I can still appreciate your CJ. It's probly the best I've ever seen. I definetly prefer Calgary over Edmonton though, and I've lived in both. Calgary is warmer, that does it for me.9.gif Again great job on the CJ.

Just another region pic. You can see hot the St.Albert area has grown. I don't like how the avenues overwelm the view of the area. I may take one down to a street to free up the cluster of roads look. Plus with it being on a large slope it over shadows the actual shape of the road. I should take a pic of the ingame map for comparison soon.

Not bad. A little presumptuous, but preety neat. almost as good as Dolfans. Good job.

Again, i disagree with you. this is much better than Dolfans CJ. TJD has done an absolutely amazing job of recreating Northamericas northernmost metro of over 1 million, and after 27 pages, it shows. This is one of the best CJs out there.

I just logged in to see whats up. I see Sooner&RiceGrad has spammed half the CJ's on the first page of the city journals with odd advice for most?. He is intitle to his opinions as is everyone. I don't think Sooner knows the point of this City Journal or that Edmonton is a real city. Aswell the efforts put into accuracy. And I'm not sure whats presumptious about this CJ?
Dolfan's CJ has had a great start and is new. I'm looking forward to seeing more of it. Alot of new CJ's have new ideas that take the game to different levels. Personally I have a CJ to show my work not compete or compare to other City Journals. I'll be the first to list off tons of great CJ's that make this section of the forums the only one I often look threw.

I have a few busy days off coming up but I'll probably play around with the region for a bit. I've done some road work and residential developement lately which I'll show soon. Plus I went on a long drive to distant areas of the city....places where I can put some more detail into now that I'm refreshed on the areas.

    Updates soon.....
            .....any request?

I'd like to see you pressure more people into recreating more building from Edmonton. I know a few people that would like a recreation of Station Lands. At this point, the actual thing will be done before the BAT model!18.gif

Station Lands was in Edmonton right?

    That is aMAzing!
Thank you for showing that the Earth at Night map, and here I was thinking Edmonton was an Eastern City. Shows me, don't it?
What's funny is, in another 20 years or so, all those lights for the Northeast of the USA will be one solid block. Unless everyone moves out to the relatively unsettled west.
You've done a good job with your CJ so far. Keep up the good work.

than you see how dead northern canada is..no one lives there lol

Its neat in BC where you see the relativley unsettled interior except for the okanagan.. There is a world map like that too..its neat..now that i look at it i can pick out  a bunch of larger cities..vancouver, seattle, portland, SF and LA on the west coast alone.

    Southwest Edmonton update :
    /idealbb/files/Edmonton

Mayor of Tempest Lake : The University of Alberta. Thats a great request and an area I'm looking forward to recreating. The Hub mall will be a challenge. I just need to find a building that will look good placed end to end for a few blocks. As for doing the University area I need to make a whole set of custom lots or find old style school buildings. The UofA being built in the early 1900's has many nice old style buildings. Its just finding the right mix to place for the proper look. I have some good maps of the areas aswell as some good arial pics that should help. I think later today I will go to the area and begin preping it. Since it has some commercial areas around it I can build up the areas residential aswell. I'm also going to ass the LRT stations aswell since over the next few years the rail will be expanding in that area. Keep posted and thanks for the request. This is what keeps the CJ going.
