Once again, this cj is coming together really well. I like the setup of that schoolyard.

I agree with lennon801208, This city is great, I'm making my home town too,
The Kansas City MO/Kansas area, I've only finished lenexa, Olathe, and Overland Park.
Anyways, keep up the good work dude.9.gif

I edited my original post, guess you didn't notice.

The area I am wondering is the capilano mall area and just to the north (101st Ave, 62st).

For Pizza Steve I will take a snap shot of that area zoomed in. Its a small map so won't be the most exciting pic. I should have it within an hour or so.

And for X-man I'm not sure by what you mean.....The region (whole) pic is done by a program called Region Census with this you can take whole views of the region at one time or even cities. Its handy for large images like the last one I posted. Or if you mean is it possible to get a pic to create the region for yourself.....Which can't be done....I made the region by hand...that alone took several months to get it to be this accurate. Only major regret I have is the Valley is much to deep which makes some areas very hard to recreate. For anyone PM me and I'll give you my MSN so you can DL the region (blank) from me. Also my email is listed somewhere far back in the journal.

Thanks again to everyone for keeping up with this long going CJ. I have had a couple thousand views just in the last 2 weeks.....Its everyones interest that keeps me plugging away with the region.
And again any request or ideas dont be afraid to ask. This CJ is for everyone. 11.gif

Vigo: For the Edmonton Queen (River Boat) I was thinking of using a passander ferry for it. It has a small dock just across the river from downtown. So if I placed that there and the boat went up and down the river in that area it would be the closest thing I can think of to recreating that feature....I may have that placed in the next week...I'm building near that area. Huge complex intersection for 2 bridges leading into 3 major roads in that area....plus the Mutart Conservatory....(4 Pyramids full of flora)

And as promised for Pizza Steve here is a picture of that intersection. Not the mall is just east of this pic on the next map which is a small map. And Gold Bar is the map just N.E. from this pic. I can take a few pictures of those areas if you want.....Not much to see on the Capilano map not many roads there plus...empty areas where buildings go...
In this picture there are a few tall Appartments just south of this intersection. I don't know the area down to many details so I hope this is ok from what I have in my head and the map I use 11.gif.

Nope this is exactly the area I wanted a screen of, now I can see what a pain all those curved roads are.  I actually live on the corner of that small road just left of the mini mall.  Thanks a lot really cool.

I'm impressed that your naming your schools.  It's pretty impressive to see all the detail that you are putting into this city.

I have only lived in edmonton for about 7 years now and only 1 year at my current residence.  The rest of time in Edmonton I lived in the university area. I am courious on how you plan doing the uvinversity area.

Well keep up the good work.

    -June 18th Update-

Just a small update. Actually alot of work but doesn't show much. Again more curved roads that take alot of measuring. Also....I accidently unpaused the game downtown.....power kicked in and a few people moved in when I wasn't looking....So I have 598 people out of nearly 1million. 11.gif

I was thinking of using the realistic water mod for it....Since the river is brown from the silt in it a dark blue would be better then such a light blue.

And for Riverbend and Callingwood I will most likely make them then ask for help by showing pictures of areas you would like to see. Then you can point out the differences. 11.gif Should have another small update later tonight.

I love the way that you created the Fulton Ravine on the previous page. I will have similar ravines in my Toronto region.

I enjoy very much to have some photos of the real city in a city recreation journal.  This is an enormously challenging project, and your precision and persistance is incredible. This will definitely be one - if not the - best recreation once we see the buildings grow.

    Cheers!

Wow, this city is highly realistic. This is the exact replica of Edmonton! Wow great work TheJerseyDevil73! It also looks like you've been working on this for nearly a year now and still no development now that's hardwork.

Having been to West Edmonton Mall a few times I was wondering where the main airport is in relation to it?

the main airport (Edmonton International) is located about 30 Minutes south of the city...Gateway Blvd. on the map connects to CAlgary Trail, which in turn takes you straight south to the Airport, and about Three hours to The City of Calgary.

The City Center Airoport is mainly used for...
    1. Rich people in Private Jets
    2. Charter Planes
    3. Planes coming in from Northern Canada (Edmonton is known as the Gateway to the North)
    4. Air-Ambulances

Dannato - I'm looking forward to the buildings too. Just want to finish the road network first. Plus I have issues to work out with a few things aswell.
Vlad - I have been working on it for nearly a year. But many months where Terraforming and at times I took a few weeks off at a time. This last month has shown alot of work.
wraith90 - West Edmonton Mall is atleat a half hour from the main Airport and from the City Center Airport that brett described a 20minute drive. The government has put alot into the international airport so sadly the city center is rarely used. This week in the news is a debate if the land should be redeveloped but alot of small companies that use the strategic airport are not happy about that.
beebs - For SW Edmonton I will need the most help. For the little things. I never go SW theres nothing there but residents. Nice area that will be hard to emulate. The other day while Mt Biking I got stuck going around Terwilegar Drive and then past Fort Edmonton couldnt find any more paths to continue SW. If I knew the area I could have made it to Devon. Maybe next time lol 11.gif
