Fabulous 1.gif Theres nothing else to say 1.gif I must admit i'm a bit jealous, as being a bit of a train nut myself, if i knew how, i'd do loads of different train paint jobs myself... One thing that i've often thought that would be good would be fewer mixed freight trains and some block freight trains, ie consisting of all the same cars..
On the paint front, i like this Atlanta & St Andrews Bay scheme...

I took that photo in Panama City, FL, and i just found it on a website...which i wouldnt mind if there was a credit on it 7.gif Oh well....

p.s. On one of your boxcars trolca, i noticed the graffiti "Killroy was here"....i was just wondering is that after the song of the same name by The Move? 1.gif

The saying came from American GI's during World War II.

Could you make one of these? I just thought you could cobble a fairly good one together out of two standard passenger engines end to end perhaps with a boxcar in the middle to give the change of profile on the front...that is if it works in the same way regarding overlaying props as the lot editor..23.gif
If you've never seen one like this before, they were built for use in britain in the 60s and based upon a sucessful german design, the latter lasting well into the 90s.

This can be done but it wouldn't be a matter of linking multiple units together. I would have to refashion the passenger engine. The length might be a problem. Most likely the mod would be shorter.

Another freight engine modification with the Right Rail paint scheme. This one has an ID of 10AA06. That makes the range of IDs for this series to be 10AA00 to 10AA06, a total of seven different engines.

I am going to try focusing on some of the requests. I might not be able to do some because of limitations but I'll see what happens.

Very good work Trolca! Your freight engines are cool.
Could you create a red-yellow skin pack? Like these engines. The CP Rail also looks good.

Or if you could make longer passenger cars, there is a passenger train.

Trolca, keep up the great work!  Just thought I'd ask, are you going to ever actually change any of the engine/car MODELS?  That would be amazingly cool.  Do you have any experience and/or the nessecary tools, even?

I guess I'm confused about what you are asking. All of my Right Rail engines are the result of changes to the original.

    These six engines...

I was wondering if you could change the passenger train into a German ICE (InterCity Express). There's already a new, more streamlined model, but the old one looks almost exactly like the one in SimCity.

I'll add it to my request list. I haven't been able to get past the car length limitations though.

For now, here are two new engines, both are the same model.

Please let me know what you think about the Conrail engine. I plan on doing a few other models with the Conrail logo and color scheme before moving on.

Very nice trolca...i'm gonna go with the rightrail one to match the other rightrail engines you've done..
The front/windows aren't quite right, but it's more than good enough for me 2.gif
When making a new engine like this, is it a case of using the standard freight engine and altering it in a paint/graphics program?

Here's an addition to the Conrail line. I'm showing the two engines I have so far.
    /idealbb/files/FECR07_01.jpg/idealbb/files/FECR05_01.jpg

Because these engines have the same ID numbers (10AA05 and 10AA07) as the Right Rail engines of the same models, they can't be used at the same time.

I'm not very good at researching. I get a basic idea and go with it. I do like the way the front of the engine in your picture. I might try to get closer to that look. When I create a new model I'll try to create that look. One thing to consider though is that there are many different models, some very simular except for minor differences.

I do make changes to the skin with Paint Shop Pro but I also change the frame as well. I do that with the ilive reader.

    For now, another Conrail engine.

    /idealbb/files/FECR101.jpg

    /idealbb/files/FECR102.jpg

I'm going to make a Conrail box car set before moving on.

Something I forgot to state before is that in almost all cases a engine or car with an ID ending with 00 will over ride the orginial. In this case the newest engine replaces the original yellow/black one.

I didn't know that. After doing some looking I did find a few images of blue ones, but most are brown. I'll recolor 4 of the five set to brown. Thanks for the information.

Looking back, I should of numbered the cars. Maybe I'll do it after Rush Hour.

I thought I was going to move on but now I'm thinking something has to be done about that caboose. I plan on redesigning it and adding the Right Rail and Conrail logos/color schemes.

Here is my first attempt at a new caboose. I didn't realize I would end up putting so much time into it. Nearly 24 hours total. For all that time I wish it turned out a little better but I can still tweak it later.

I take that back 1.gif With all the Conrail stuff thats appearing, I'm gonna go for that over Right Rail. Is it just me or looking at the screenshots, do the railroads look more and more realistic with every mod? 1.gif This thread has definately got to be the best kept secret of Simtropolis 1.gif Its a pity I found out about it only after they'd closed the Golden Llama voting...
