Its most likely punks who download the game.  Rather than pay $40, they sit there and enter random codes until one works.  I really dont know how EA can stop this, which is why I am against all this code crap.  I still havent gotten a decent reply from EA about my request

I have tried to register at Simcity4 After e-mail link all I get is the message you quote Contacting them is totally useless. Makes me wonder if Simcity 5 is released do I use a pirate version!!! No extra from buying it after my experance. Hope someone fron EA reads these post may get help then.

i think this is the right place to post this. simcity.com doesn't load, just the blue background and i can't get onto any other maxis site.

Problems for me:

1.Site registered, trying to now product register with different name, invalid code for game, mystery.

2. Sending e-mail to support doesn't work, it won't send, says somethings wrong with MY PC, BS.

3. What does registering for Technical Support do for you? serious Q. not being sarcastic.

I have a problem. I lost the serial number, but I looked it up through my computer's Registry Editor like the post suggested. But when I put that serial number in on my account at the Maxis website, it said my serial number isn't valid. I really want to get the special features!

Hello I live in argentina and i am poor, i bought a pirate copy of SC4 and SC4 RH, for 2 dollars, obviosly the serial has been already use hundres of times....so is there any way to get a user and pass for downloading stuff and more important the patch fot sc4 (so i dont get always those nasty brown boxes instead of the downloaded buildings)?
Could some one be some kind of sending me this patch or telling me his/her user pass so i can use it for a why?
please help me....

I bought this game last Thursday and within a couple of days I decided to reigster on this site. I got the usual, Invalidserial/this serial number has already been registered crap and got a tad angry. Later on (still Saturday) I decide to contact EA Tech Support, I get the auto reply and they say to expect a response within 24-48 hours. Good. We're now on Wednesday night and I'm edited off so I decide to do some investigating myself. I come across this site and your marvelous Troubleshooting threads which are a lot better than anything EA has to offer. Basically what I want to know is what do you think I should try now before I resort to breaking my Sim City disk in half and shoving it in the blender before taking a dump on it. Thanks for any help!

I bought a new copy of Sim City Deluxe Edition yesterday. It installed fine, and I was able to submit my cd key for regestration, and I recieved an email with a link to get confermation. When I click the link to confirm I get the invalad or already regestered cd key error. Im not amused.

With Macintosh serials, you cannot register at simcity.com. The serial numbers are invalid. The answer of a mail to EA games I sent was that EA games is and will not be responsible for the Macintosh version because it is a release of Aspyr und EA games will not support what the porting companies do. Aspyr has licensed the source code but not the service.

But if you wan't to use the Maxis tools on a virtual machine (legally for a few days), you can go to a library or video store which has also games to lend and borrow the windows version there for a day or two and register with this serial, but put the login data to simcity.com inside the booklet to allow the next temporary users too to login!

Although this doesn't seem to be on the same discussion, it bears mentioning as it is a registration problem experienced by me and I'm sure others.  I tried to register on the SimCity website so I could use the exchange and such.  However, I could never get Internet Explorer to load the page.  I'd fill in the info and click the enter key and the page would die.  I tried everything that the EA tech people said to do but I still couldn't register to use the exchange and such.  After exhausting all the options that the tech support gurus could think of, I finally asked if they would be willing to take a username given by me and register me and send me an email with the name and password.  They did and I am now registered.  However, before you try this method, try anything else they suggest because a lot a companies are skittish of this method of registering a person and if too many people request this treatment, EA may telling the tech people not to do it any more.  BTW, if it matters to anyone, I used a Yahoo email account for of these communications with EA tech support.

I tried the same thing as Schattenparker did, contacted them from the same site, using a Sim 2 category, don't seem to get any answers though. My problem is rather complicated.

I bought Sim City 4 some years ago, well, I long time ago at least. I registered at SimCity.com and it worked find. Now I have found back to the game, and start playing it again. But I can't remember my Screen Name, either my password, and the e-mail address I used back then, I don't have anymore. All I have is my orginal Sim City 4 CD with the CD key in it. What shall I do to get my account back?

Is there somewhere else I can send an e-mail to? I tried to send one to account@Support.Ea.Com, but received an auto-reply telling me:

This solution is no longer available.. I am not sure exactly when this changed, but I believe it to be quite recent.. certainly it is IN EFFECT RIGHT NOW... serial number issues of ANY SORT can only be solved by SNAILMAIL..  The response to ANY EMAIL is as follows:

I know this isn't the part of the forum for my problem, but it was the one most recently posted in. My problem is that I have a scratch on my CD of Sim City 4 and the only files I have not been able to get off of it are....SimCity_1.dat,SimCity_2.dat, SimCity_3.dat, SimCity_4.dat and SimCity_5.dat. I have all the rest of the stuff but those files. Im not sure why either. Can anyone help me? Thank you so much for all of your time and I do appologize for not being in the right part of forum for this.
