I like the story around your city journal, but even more I like your cities, the building style you use.
While reading the CJ you can really jump into the story.

gurrugkud: Thanks, I did. I'm the #1 ranked junior at our golf course, and in a qualifying match for the junior club championship, I shot 88 for the #1 seed, so I'm pretty happy. And don't worry, I'm back with an update!

CHAPTER 23-A FRESH START IN PAWTUCKET

Well, Carlea and I have a new home, a palatial manor in the village of Pawtucket. Parker Manor is right near downtown, but also feels secluded, probably because of the forest surrounding our street on all sides.


Pawtucket, population 3,300, is home to the rich and famous of Western Ontario. There's a beautiful town hall, where the town council meets to discuss the future of the area every week:


The local mall, Kingston Market, named after the town's founder, Joshua Kingston, containing 65 shops and services, including Blockbuster, Reitmans, Sears, and Electronics Boutique:


Delilah Square, where all the flower vendors congregate to hawk their wares, and do a roaring trade on the weekends:


The accompanying Delilah Greenhouse, where the vendors store their grown delights before they're ready for display on Saturday:


And, the Blackbeard distillery, where Blackbeard the pirate makes his famous alcoholic amber treat.


You can't forget St. Marc-Antoine's Parish, the only church in town, where the Lord is praised every Sunday morning, followed by coffee and donuts in the lunch hall after services!


This overview of the town, somewhat outdated, is charming nonetheless. However, next time I get back to you, it will look like a different town. This picture was taken before many of the buildings shown before were constructed, and I apologize for the mishap on my part.


The industrial base is quite profound here, with HP, Toyota/Lexus, and Bridgestone all having complexes in Pawtucket.


This picture of downtown, also a little bit outdated, still looks good. However, now you can find multi-story buildings downtown, which are much more interesting. Nonetheless, enjoy the picture.


There are more buildings being constructed than you can count in Pawtucket, and for one reason only-amalgamation. Recently, almost all of Western Ontario, from Kenora to Thunder Bay, was amalgamated into the Thunder Bay Metropolitan Area. This has vaulted Thunder Bay's population to 185,000, and the provincial and federal government both hope that Thunder Bay could grow to become like a mini-metropolis, like a northern London, or an eastern Saskatoon. Besides, if that was to happen, only good things would come for Winnipeg...

Anyways, a little bit off-topic there, but that's OK. Here's the picture, where you can see 7 buildings under construction.


This lovely stream is right behind the industrial park, and developers were trying to get a house built on the island, but there wasn't enough room. Once again, nature prevails, and I'm glad that it did, because this area is stunning.


And, once again outdated, the city at night. Not much to behold with the exception of the industrial park, but still emitting that small-town charm.


Pawtucket is one of the nicest places I've been, and although I prefer Moon River, I find that Pawtucket holds more potential. I've also made a decision: no more architecture for me. Now, I've moved into the field of photography full-time. It features more flexible hours, and more time to spend with that little fluffbundle Carlea, so it was the right choice.

That has happened to me. I've tried to discipline myself to save regularly. It would be nice if the game had an automatic save reminder for those of us who get so caught up in building we forget to hit the save button.

Yep, it does have that small town charm, but maybe deviate from the grid a little bit?

SA: Don't worry, the grid is just for what will become the city core. Sprawl has begun to take shape, and with the help of the cul-de-sac mod, there is no more griddiness, for the most part, in the expansion near the greenhouse to the southeast, and the Kingston Market to the northeast. CHAPTER 24-PLENTY OF PAWTUCKET

Well, due to the amalgamation, Pawtucket has kept growing in the month since we last talked, swelling to a population of over 5,100. I even have my own new offices, the first headquarters of Parker Photography.


My new offices are in the commercial area of Laurier, a new neighbourhood south of the greenhouse. There are plenty of caf

Excellent! I love the rural feel, even though in the end this will probably become a city, rural towns will always be better in my mind... but i wont worry because i know that there are many more towns to come, all beginning with the good old rural feel...
