bourneid:I really like that picture. The flora and rocks are perfectly placed and the sea is full of boats and such making this even more real. The peir/marina is one of my favorite bats!

9.1/10!

Sparks1176:Hmm....nice suburbs and the whole area is all maxis...very interesting....I like the rocks and the beach area...maybe get some bats or something....also space out the houses just a bit....

6.91/10!

Okay now here is something that I did very early on.It was one of my first park systems and it is rather old....early 05 and was shown in my CJ Bostalk....

Oh man, I need to know where you got that custom Highway overpass Cjah, it looks sweet. As for the picture, 7/10. I really love all the underground transit in the shot. The park that the highway runs under is really nice as well. What brings it down is a lot of the buildings are the same and that really steep cliff at the top seems wierd near a city like this. I wouldn't want to have a room for the first 15 stories on some of those buildings near the cliff, cause you'd open up the windows and see rock.

bourneid.. That pic looks great...I never realized the mangroves plopped underwater...makes sense though. Great job! 9.5/10

Sparks1176.. Your beaches look good, but I feel like something is missing. Good work, though. 6.5/10

Cjah.. Nice downtown. I especially like the overpass/tunnel transition.  I have to deduct for repetitious buildings and that one way arrow...i never did like that arrow. Overall, very nice. 8/10

Here's a scene from My CJ, Smoggy Fields.  The Sim State Aquarium just celebrated their grand opening in Greendro.  It's always quite busy as seen by this morning shot.

Sparks1176 1: 7.5/10 I think the parking looks much better now, even though you're right that all of the handicap parking spots look a little unrealistic.

Cjah 1:  6/10 I like the urban high school, but everything else is just too plain and/or generic.

BarbyW 1:  8.5/10 That's certainly a very lively waterfront, with great use of custom lots, and a very original look.

BarbyW 2:  9/10  I love the Venician look with the canal and Mediterranian row houses, but as the others have said, the other suburban houses don't really fit in with the theme.  Still if you take that away, and only look at the canal section, the picture is quite beatiful looking.

Cjah 2: 8/10 Much more interesting picture than your last one, the canal looks great along with the trail system.

bourneid:  10/10  That is the best picture I have seen in this thread and the only one that I've given a perfect ten.  The underwater flora looks excellent, and with your superb photoshopping skills this picture really achieves an incredible high level of realism.  Awesome work!

Sparks1176 2:  7/10  Nice looking waterfront nieghborhood, but it could use something to liven it up a bit.  I'd suggest checking out jeronij's street mod, it'll add some better textures to your streets along with some really great trees.  It would certainly make this neighborhood much more asthetically pleasing and interesting.

(Note:  This is just my suggestion, and if you prefer the way it looks now, than that's just fine.)

Cjah 3:  8.5/10  Very nice looking downtown and park!  I also like the underwater highway tunnel, pretty creative.

sanantonio:  9.5/10 Excellent beach sanatonio, it has a very lively and energetic feel to it, especially with all of the people runnin around.  Nice looking flora too, great work!

Camron: Sparks1176: Good beaches and street layout, 7/10.

Sanantonio: Sparks1176.. Your beaches look good, but I feel like something is missing. Good work, though. 6.5/10

I wouldn't have posted it if I didn't want pure honesty or constructive criticism. 4.gif  I felt like I am getting better, but only realizing I still have a long way to go. I did have that street mod, but wasn't crazy about cycledogg's trees.  I'll play around with it.  Abbeville is a working class town, not really made to be "beautiful" but it is near the beach so could use some color.   I will be back with a new improved South Shore!  Thanks for the comments guys!

BarbyW: first of all welcome to my thread, its my pleasure to welcome you. that picture is really nice, my only concern is they water front, i think it may be the same concern as anubis89, perhaps its the beach, the transition between the water and the park doesn't look very realistic, par example, the grass is in a straight line perhaps there should be a beach to park lot or something because the beach look very small and very slopped quickly perhaps a boat jetty? i give it 7/10

Venice: this is a nice picture but until those building on the left and right are gone it doesn't remind me of Venice also perhaps some bridges over the rivers? until its finished 6/10

T Wrecks: OK well sorry i have no real idea where they came from i was just commenting on the style of architecture.

Cjah: nice picture, nice medium density housing and nice water front the one way grid is a little ugly perhaps downloading the traffic light mod where u can tweak desirability of roads and u can alter the amount of traffic on the roads and edit the speed limit of the roads to decrease commute time. i give it 8/10 btw nice shoreline!!

bourneid: wtf is that massive green blobs on the screen? its a nice dock but Wat the hell is those green things, they have to be the most unrealistic things ever! 4/10

Sparks1176: that's nice if your whole city looks like this i bet the region view is awesome. perhaps one screenshot of that would be nice to see? i give it 8/10 not all images have to be heavily modded to be nice.

Cjah: the high rise style isn't really my style but some of the towers are pretty realistic, the park in the middle has thrown me a bit, not sure of the temple looking thing or the large wooden things the motorway junction is nice also. i give in 7/10

sanantonio: ahhhhhh the green bubbles are taking over! help is it just me or do those look as realistic as giant marbles? nice layout nice car park nice transit bit of a texture glitch at the bottom of the image and its a bit weird how its right on the water without any side graphs or small walls. anyway its a GREAT image only for the green bubbles so i give it 7/10 it could of been 9/10!!!!! they look so plastic!

well over all most people seem to like the giant green bubbles, so obviously I'm the only one that doesn't like them. let my try something, stare and a small section of them for 5 seconds and try to imagine what they would look like in real life and what they are based on in real life? also try and compare colours? are they really that green in real life????

Thanks guys tho for posting my thread and its always a pleasure to here from you, i must welcome all new posters too i hope this thread is inspiring you to do more, and the ideas other people make help you in your future simcity life. I must say don't take any of this in a bad way everyone has their own way of playing simcity.

    Enjoy!

Accually...with Cjah's picture....other then the arrows..., it accually is pretty realistic. It reminds me of many of the HUD projects you see around.

Often times cities who have flooding problems along a creek or small river like that, will want to build dikes to control the water. That can be a pretty exspencive project for a city to take on...so often times they will try to get State and Federal HUD loans...build low cost "projects" on that land and be given the money to build the dikes as part of the deal...

this looks mighty good - but of course, in the real thing in Italy, there are no rowhouses like in UK (or some other angosaxon countries), but it is a real chaos...

Cjah: Good but again, I would recommend you increase your variety of buildings, 7/10.

sanantonio: A busy picture, good effort, 8/10.

    BarbyW: Lovely and realistic, 9/10.

    sepsis: Nice fighters, 8/10.

Mickebear: A realistic theme, good, 9/10.

BarbyW 1: 8/10  Quite a beautiful night shot of the canal, with a pretty interesting bus station.

BarbyW 2: 9/10 I prefer this shot to your first since there's a larger view, that really gives the picture a much greater Vencian city feel.

sepsis: 6/10 Nothing really wrong with the picture, and I like the jets, but there's just not enough interesting things in that shot.

Mickebear: 9.5/10 I think this picture really captures that chaotic look and feel of real world Italien/European villages.  Nice looking church and photo effects too.

Cjah: 9/10  Awesome looking farmland, and I love the row trees placed between the farms.  Nice railroad at the bottum of the pic, too.

cityhawk: 8.5/10 Great looking residential neighborhood, and bike path.  The flora/trees look quite nice and peaceful also.

Weird howso? Like I said, it was just an experiment.

also if u didnt notice the street leading into the avenue is a dust road, which isnt realisitic lol!!!!quote>

Some of us are too lazy to exit the game, which takes about 5 minutes to happen; go and take the dirty streets mod out of the plugins folder; and then go back into the game back to the city you were in, which takes about 10 minutes. I have very little patience if you know what I mean!

Cjah: Nice railway set up and lovely fields, 9/10.

cityhawk: Good residential area. I would recommend you make that bit of street which is dirt street in the lower left hand corner tarmac street, so to add to realism.

Hmmm I actaully like the image....

Well the houses so close to the Arena are too small...maybe if they were all midrise or maybe like 4 to 5 stories or something...

9/10 cuz of the sweet tree action!

Well, I do like the use of MSG, but the homes are too small. maybe if they were all Stage 4 or 5 it would work better. Also, am I the only one who noticed chopped textures in the turning lanes? It certainly took from the picture for me. 6.5/10 TopCliff
