I'm not sure, just supposing, but usually when these new packs asks you to delete older ones is because they already have those included. Check the txt file in it for that info, it might say exactly that, but as I said, just supposing. 2.gifquote>

ROFL, I did it again, and quoted the wrong post. That was mented to quote soldyne about the diffrent versions updates (CPT7 for the 8 and 9) and ended up quoting the wrong guy. It's not the first time I do it and surely won't be the last. 26.gif32.gif43.gif

Nevertheless, Jeronij just have answered what I was just presuming. 2.gif

Love those trees, will we get them one day?quote>

As jeronij already pointed out, this is a pic from my upcoming mod, using Cycledogg's trees. I'm using his exemplar files as a template, so you should be able to mix the DATs, however there might be some unwanted side-effects, since I've modded certain zone type properties to fit my needs better. Since the mod is not final, I can't tell what else will change, though. I won't be at home for the next few days, so the mod won't be released before end of may/beginning of june, but I'll try to weed out the remaining issues, create a readme file etc. as soon as possible.

As mentioned above, it is almost imposible to make a mod like this that satisfies everybody :-(. But Andreas is working in the one you are asking for ;-D

Also, depending on how Andreas finally releases his mods, you could choose to have one mod or another one for each density/wealth level. Remember this mod has a folder for each density/wealth level so if Andreas´s mod comes the same way ( which I guess it will) you could mix the mods, always using only one for each density/wealth level.

I hope it sounds not too confusing....quote>

lol, I know jeronij that you live in Spain and I also know that there are Eucalyptus trees growing there and anywhere else where it is warm enough for them, but what I was trying to say is that seeing that you have a folder in your mod called *JRJ Street trees*, maybe you had in mind to have these trees in the picture above to replace the southern trees, and I was wondering if a replacement is in the making, when I saw that picture.

You see , there are probably more northern people playing this game, then southern ones simply because the northern half is more populated and ......anyways, let's not get into the details please. What I am trying to say is that the majority of ST members are not  from a place where Eucalyptus trees grow . It would've been more logical, but then again, you live in Spain and and for you it is best to have these trees. I would have done the same.

I know that it is hard to please anyone. I didn't ask for a mod or addon like this to please me, I only made a statement. No harm wanted. ( maybe I should've just shut-up)

If Andreas is making something like this, then I will wait for it (da ist keine Eile, Andreas) , if not, well it will not stop me from using it anyways. This is a great mod and should find its place beside CD's Terrain mod and the NAM. Thank you both and all!

I was wondering if I just delete all the JRJ Street MOD files from the Plugins folder and open up my city with the mod installed previously, will it crash? I am trying to uninstall it for a special part of my region.

Hi Andreas , hi Jeronij ! 35.gif

I havent download this mod yet , but after i saw the pictures of the mod in the Stex i will download it pretty soon. Just a question (that may be the stupidiest question in this thread but since i didnt see it written here or in the stex download text i still have to ask it, so forgive me for asking it)12.gif.
So here it is :

So the props at the sides of street only appears at the streets that come automatically with the "zoneing" or also with the streets i make with the regular streets tool ?

This is probably a stupid question cause i think the street side mod works with both , right? It works with automatically zoned streets and with the regular streets tool build streets.

Ive red through the thread but didnt really found an answer.

Thanks a lot.

ruhlcore

PS. Ive seen a lot of your bats andreas and i like them all, a shot question, so i guess you are from germany too . Is there one link you can direct me too where i should go if i would like to start batting too. (like an tutorial in german). Thanks a lot

@ruhlcore: The mod will work for both the streets that you can build with the street tool and for those that show up automatically when you use the zoning tools.

Regarding your second question (I think it's easier to answer in German 2.gif ):

Ja, ich komme aus Deutschland, und selbstverständlich gibt es auch ein BAT-Tutorial auf deutsch. Komme am besten einfach mal auf unsere Seite, die SimsZone, bzw. das angegliederte SimForum. Dort findest Du alles, was Du wissen mußt.

Ahh thanks Andreas. Yeah i thought it would work with both. Another stupid question that i forgot to ask before. And thats also somehow not really answered in this thread (in my opinion).

When i install the street side mod and i continue to play a city that i already played (before installed the mod). The streets dont update automatically. I have to relay them, right ? Means i just have to build roads over them again (by Alt+R) or clicking on the icon...no problem.

I think its probably answered in the stex download text. But iam not sure. A simply yes or no is enough. 2.gif

EDIT : My question was indeed stupid , its all written clear in the download describtion :

How to use the mod?¿:

Quite simple. When you build new residential or commercia areas, the streets will be constructed as the zones develop, and will change as the wealth or density in the zone changes.

If you want to update an existing zone, simply choose the street tool ( Alt+R) and click once on the street you want to update. You will see as it magically changes.

If you dont like the layout

that appears, simply click with the street tool again, and it will change. Click until you get the desired layout."

Sorry.

Thanks.

ps. Andreas , auf der Simzone.de Seite war ich schonmal aber bin noch nicht registriert , das werde ich nachholen und mich mal mit dem deutschen tutorial vertraut machen. Danke für die Antwort und den street side mod von dir und jeronij.44.gif

Well, I just tested installing the Street Side mod.  Here is the result applying it to one of my medium wealth suburbs:

streettrees8lv.jpg

Two questions for you.  First, is there supposed to be that grassy area between the sidewalk and the road?  I'm not sure I saw that on other screenshots.

Secondly, do you think it will ever be possible to put these trees on diagonal street?  I use them extensively, and it would be nice to see them there.

Thanks for making this fantastic mod!  I'm looking forward to further efforts in this area.

If I'm abusing this threat by posting this problem here, I apologise, but I didn't know where else to go.

I've installed the NAM (PC version) with all the plug ins. I created the one way round about (the one that is 3x3), but noticed that traffic is avoiding it. Only pedestrians are moving through it. I remember the original Rush Hour had the same bug for certain kinds of junctions, but fortunatly the patch resolved those issues.

I'm wondering if anyone else found this bug, or whether I'm missing something

Thanks

@Battlecat: Low density zones always have that grass strip, even in the original game. The only thing that has changed is the sidewalk texture, the additional trees and some other props, such as the parked cars. It is possible to create a mod for the diagonal streets as well, but creating these is a lot of work, so it will take some time. Your request has been noted. 2.gif

@Hanno: As JoeMeister pointed out, please refer to the NAM and/or roundabout threads in the Modding - Transportation forums. Your problem is not related to the street side mod, that's for sure.

Almost 12 midnight here and I am sleepy as hell. Have read through the thread and don't see my specific problem showing up. I am getting most things to show up but at each intersection there is a grass cut out exactly on each corner. At a T intersection there is what appears to be a grass parking cut out. The corner cut outs do have street signs but no sidewalks. Also not seeing lamp posts or signals in my downtown area (fairly new still having only $ and $$ lots).

I know my problem is probably caused by conflicting files but I have removed (what I think) are all street mod including seasonal trees. I did have Swamper77's Uni-Density and Sidewalk mods in but I remove those too and still am having problems. I will have to relearn how to post an image tomorrow but wanted to get this posted tonight, in case someone else has experienced this and has a quick fix, that might be waiting for me when I get up tomorrow.

Good Night from L.A. area California

Now it's 2:45AM and after going to bed and lying there for awhile thinking "what the hell did I do or didn't do", I attacked my problem again.  To the point, PROBLEM SOLVED AND EVERYTHING IS WORKING AS IT SHOULD.  I won't go into details as to what was happening but let just say I was very sloppy with several of my installed files.

Sorry I wasted all your space here.

Good thing I'm retired and don't have a RL to worry about tomorrow.  Just have a little grand daughter that won't let me sleep in.

Errm... I downloaded the mod, but all it did was change the sidewalks. It didn't put the trees in or the car parks. I have the dependency files though. I have no idea what is wrong. Any help?

Nerd_Guy : The trees and parking bays appear on the light grey textured streets only. Not on the dark grey/black textured roads, since  they are to broad. Also you have to relay your streets.

hope that helped.

Hi !

Great mod Andreas. I like it a lot. Biggest diffrences to jeronijs street side mod ,in my opinion is that there are many options about what trees you want to add and you can choose all the diffrences in the install menue. Really comfortable. 5.gif

Also i like that there are many more parked cars at the sides like in jeronijs street side mod (while his street side mode is cool aswell,of course)

Biggest visual diffrences to jeronijs mod are the diffrent trees (i use the maxis trees and palms cause i like them) and the main visual diffrence are the sidewalks that arent affected here in andreas mod (am i right on this one ? i think i am ).

Which is something i really liked in jeronijs mod, the diversity of the diffrent sidewalks depending on the density of the buildings next to it. Sometimes it looked a little bit too much diversity especially in areas with a lot diffrent densities.

Also i really liked the patterned style of the sidewalk that came along with jeronijs mod. Is there a way i can combine jeronijs sidewalks

with andreas street mod ?

Just want to show a little picture of parking bays :

@ruhlcore: If jeronij's sidewalk textures work as a replacement for the in-game ones (i. e. if they have the same IDs), it should be possible to install them along with my mod - but it's not possible to install my street mod DATs together with others. However, if some people want to have jeronij's trees together with my mod, I can whip up some new tree style DATs. Feel free to post requests for other tree models here (and if possible, provide a link to the download), then I'll make an add-on pack. I'm also planning to release a seasonal tree version of my mod, but it will take some time until it's ready.

thanks Andreas for the reply. I think i will keep on playing with your mod i couldnt get along with the trees in jeronijs mod they were a bit too much , i still like the idea of having diffrent looking sidewalks for each density though , but you cant have it all . 2.gif

good mod , keep up the good work.

Hi to all, just a clearance, you can use ONLY the sidewalks of my mod if you want ( so they are compatible with Andreas Mod. You only need to make sure that the folder "JRJ Sidewalks_OPTIONAL_MODULAR" from my strees side mod is installed in you rplugins folder. You can also use the alternative sidewalks mod found attached to a post in this thread for the same purpose. But use only one of them !!!

@topcliff: Please double-check if you have installed the files listed in the readme - for Cycledogg's trees you need all four that are mentioned. You don't need the tree controllers that come with the Columbus Terrain Mod, but the prop DAT files are essential. In addition, make sure that the CP_Street_TreeModels.dat has been installed into the \Tree Models folder when you select one of Cycledogg's trees. This file contains some updated tree props that were rendered specifically for this mod.

First off, many thanks to both Jeronij and Andreas. Both the mods work and look great. I'm torn on which one to use - I like the greater density of trees and the sidewalks of Jeronij's mod but I like that Andreas' applies the trees to roads and one-way streets, as well as farming areas. Also prefer the cycledog trees of Andreas' version.

Jeronij, I know some people have complained that your mod has too many trees, but I wanted to let you know that I love it that there are so many. The real European cities I know have a very high density of street trees, so that they actually look like rooftops rising out of a forest when viewed from above.

Anyway, I wonder if I might suggest a tropical tree set, perhaps using Jeronij's log trees.

Goldiva's tropical trees are good too but I seem to have some sort of conflict with some of them, which causes them show as... well... not as trees at certain zooms and angles.

    Thanks again, guys!

Maybe Jeronij could come up with a road mod. I sort of liked those streets but my cities always complain about commute so I need to upgrade those streets to roads. And then I never get to see my beautiful streets again.

I am having a slight problem. I can't see any trees on the roadside. What could be the problem? There are no mods, mentioned in the readme, which could clash with the Street Side Mod.

Well, the mod is suposed to show trees on the STREET sides only 2.gif

kaploosh, roads are wider than streets and the available space for aditional stuff is more limited that the available for the streets. Maybe I´ll have a look to this in the future....maybe not....

    Hi guys,

Love the mod except one problem

When ever there is a street, all is fine until the buildingd around it are built. Then when it becomes populated at Night I see a giant brown box with 'SIMCITY.NET" on it

I'll try to get a pic
