Im terrible at mapping but I need a detailed map of The southwest of Australia, From Bunbury to Albany. Preferably a very large map in detail.

Don't know if this has been already requested but a search of forums didn't turn it up.

I'm wanting maps of the Melbourne, AUS region, in particular just the Yarra River flowing through it. If elevation info isn't readily available, I don't mind if it's flat - it'll make building cities a lot easier (so often I am told the slope is too steep to make an intersection!).

the map im looking for is of the West Coast of Tasmania =)

ie, Queenstown/strahan/zeehan/roseberry area =)

it most likely wont be easy to make however, and it be even harder to build =)

but i would love ya forever and ever if some1 could pull it off =)

especially if it was detailed enough and to scale (very rugged area... and beutifull at the same time)

I'll take a look and see if the USGS data's any good for the area. In the meantime, rough Lat/long coords wouldn't hurt (and would speed me up). Tasmania must be an awesome place to live. It looks interesting on a map. The Hobart terrain was a wonderful sight to behold when it was all rendered.

Hi all

I tried to create something that seems this region, using the Shuttle topography data (not very detailed but covering almost the entire world surface).

I absolutely ignore the aspect of this land, and the view on Google Earth does not helps so much. This post is nothing more than a preview and i'm sure it's full of errors (expecially concerning rivers)...

JPG is optimized for use with SC4 terraformer, with standard parameters. Region is 6x8 big cities wide.

I wait for your impressions and suggestions.

I was hoping someone could make a map of the Austin Texas area. I was going to experiment and do it myself, but microdem locks up whenever I try to import any images.

Also there is already a map of Austin on here, but it's very unrealistic. The river on it is way out of proportion, and there are mountains in it. There are no mountains here. I want something that's to scale.

I don't know if anyone still checks this thread every once and awhile to take requests, but...I would like someone to make a map of the entire region of Schleswig-Holstein. For those who don't know, it is the northern-most county of Germany. I would like for the map to not be surrounded by water on all sides, and therefore would have to include areas of Denmark in the north and Niedersachsen/Mecklenburg Vorpommern in the south.

This would be greatly appreciated.

I'm wondering if anyone would create regions of both Miami-Dade and Broward Counties in Florida. There's a Miami map in the STEX, but as best I can tell it doesn't include any city limits, it's just one huge city. As for Fort Lauderdale and Broward County, I haven't found anything in the STEX. If someone would like to create Miami-Dade County as one region complete with city limits and another region constituting Broward County with city limits, I would very much appreciate it.

By the way, I realize the city limits in both counties are not at all square, and so rough approximation of city limits and sizes will have to do. I also realize that there are many unincorporated areas that have names but aren't officially cities, therefore have no real boundaries. Wikipedia has pretty much everything you need to make calls in both of those respects, though since I'm from the area myself, I'd be glad to give you all the help I can.

I live near the Sault, and have contemplated doing a map of SSM, however I would be dealing with a major problem:

Two different data sets using different points of measure.

The US (USGS) data shows canada as "Missing Data", while Canadian data (www.geobase.ca) does the same for US.

They can't be merged through my experience, as one is 30m SRTM, and the other is 10m DEM.

If you think of some answer to this dilemma, let me know. But as it stands, it is definitely problematic. Also, the US data would have 3x the elevation relief and clarity then the CDN one.

i would really appreciate someone making a map of Hilton Head Island, SC. I only need the island and just a tiny itsy bitsy part of the mainland so i can make the bridge. i would like it scaled accurately and with all medium tiles. thanks to whoever would be willing to do this!!
