any chance to get a map of michigan, or more specifically kalamazoo michigan.  very interesting terrain if you check it out.  big vally with lots of hills and sadly a very polluted river.  lots of paper companies would dump waste water right in to the kalamazoo river and the chemicals are there still today.  anyhow its my home town, accualy im from just south, portage, and i would love to have a region map of kalamazoo so i can make downtown and the suburban areas. only one large square in the center if at all possible at least check it out.  thanks if you can and thanks if you just look into it,  i know at least one other person is interested.

p.s. yes there really is a kalamazoo =)

Hi everybody!

I'd be very glad, if you make a region about Budapest (Hungary) and a bit of it's surroundings (maybe 5-10 km from the cityborder). Any other not totally equal solutions would be good too, if those are easier to make (I mean a bit smaller, bigger, etc. region).

My request: a map with 2 large main cities in the middle, touching each other in an east-west fasion, with 2 rivers running through them and joining in the south. The river ends in the south, forming a Mississipi-style delta on the beach that runs along the southern edge of the map. The central strip, where the twin rivers flow, will be a completely flat floodplain, and toward the edges, mountains rise up, starting as small hills and ending in something like the Hymalayas. Thanks!

P.S. why am I describing this map so well? I know exactly what I want except that I have no time and I can't make a decent map with mountains if my life depended on it.

The problem with making accurate scale maps of ANY area is making the map big enough to get enough detail in it. To quote an extreme example, the maps of THE WORLD on the STEX are quite large, but if you place just ONE hospital, school, police station, or whatever, it totally obliterates half of Europe - this is NOT realistic is it ???

What is the point of having an expertly made scale map of your home area, when if you play it and simulate building a new residential area in YOUR backyard as it were - your houses will effectively be of gigantic proportions and cover an area of perhaps 500,000 sq Kms - I don't see as how this is any way realistic

 

SC4 is a GAME - it is therefore a fantasy world, and building a GIGANTIC house on a scale map is fantasy to the extreme

 

I hasten to add that I applaud the talent and hours of work spent by my colleagues who make these kind of maps, but I really don't see as how they are realistic in terms of SC4

I'd really like to see a more realistic and to scale map of Bergen, Norway. The one currently in the STEX is based on a topographical map, and as such very inaccurate in terms of terrain formations (though it's quite good considering the source).

The problem is Bergen lies at 60

Unfortunately - there are very few people who have the time or indeed the skill, to make accurate scale maps. Mallow the cloud is a little busy with other things, but I am sure he will read your posts and reply to it - be patient

Hi. Total newbie. I have been working on downloading various mods. Cool stuff. However, I have been dying to use the bridges in various ways and I just found the covered bridge...yup total newbie.

Any chance, someone could create a map of Greene County, PA (Waynesburg, PA) or even the southwestern part of PA. Maybe the mountains of that area? That would be awesome. Now, if I could just get a much cooler looking coal mine made....

Okay, I'll be patient. I know that making a map is a lot of days, I asked it again only because I thought if somebody is interested in this, then will answer in max. two days before making the map (or I don't understand well the rules?). So after two days passed I thought either not enough people read my message, then it's another chance to read or nobody is interested, than I accept it.
I hope nobody thought my message offensive, I'm really glad to have at least the option to request a map.
(And sorry for my not perfect english.)

hi, newb here, when i first found this site i was really surprised to find all the wisconsin maps on this site (lacross, wausau, hudson, madison, door county) being that these are rather small cities. but i would like to see an Eau claire/chippewa falls map as well. Hi. Can anyone please make a scale map of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada?  Thank you.  And I want it all large maps.  Here are some terrain details: The Red/Assiniboine/Seine rivers, a few small hills, mostly flat land, no mountains.  I really hope this will be easy and will come soon.

P.S. If anyone knows about the Perimeter Highway, the beltway around Winnipeg, then include all the area inside that and go out another 1 km, including Selkirk, Lockport, Headingley, St. Norbert, and the Red River Floodway (Outside the Perimeter Highway). And please inform me via PM if a Map Squadder starts this map.
