Well, I just finished all the Brazil Capitals, and I should be back to making maps (there's a nice long list I have to get working on). However, I'm on vacation starting in a half an hour... all the way through at least Tuesday. So... I'll be gone for a little while.

I'm not sure where to post this but, has anyone ever thought of making some type of program that would allow maps to be made with the real existing road and transit networks included in the rendering process? I think that would be a great leap forward for the game in general, since people would be able to start off with the accurate roads and highways already in place, and could instead concentrate on the build of the cities instead.

Just imagine, Los Angeles County -- with all transit networks already in place!!! talk about realism.

that's a great idea midtownFreak20 i think it's impossible though, but it would be nice not having to go in and out of cities placing the roads, rails, ect the way you need them for the region your working on if your going for like you said LA or heck even NYC TO,because it would be done for you.

not really that impossible. I mean if SC4 renders land from gray pixels, then a similar process could be used.

Using a normal online road map, one could make the rendering software recognize a certain color and paint it as a road, highway, or street.

a good program/mod to do it with well maybe someone can.

That does sound like a really good idea but i think i have to agree with Mallow, it'd be pretty much impossible! If someone gets it going though, tell me!!

For my map request, even though its not in US, Id really love an accurate map of the Santiago, Chile region. Its a really nice location, an hour from skifields....Any takers???

hey, can anyone create the Los Angeles metro-area? the area includes Ventura in the West, Moreno Valley in the East, Catalina Island and San Clemente in the South, and extend to the southern part of Palmdale in the North of the map. i would really like it if it were an accurate scale map too. obviously it is a huge map, bigger than any other Los Angeles map for SimCity 4. but my computer can handle it.

Hello,

I am requesting a map of Loudoun County, Virginia. The county includes the cities of Leesburg and Sterling and also Washington-Dulles International Airport. It would be great if someone could create a map of the entire county, but if not, I've attached a map of the area I want the most.

Ketchikan, Saxman, Gravina, Revilla, Pennock, a region of islands and towns in extreme SE Alaska. I've tried to recreate this place several times, but always come up far short.

Just made news recently; they're building a huge bridge from Ketchikan, over Pennock Is, to the airport at Gravina Is. I'd like to make it before they do.

Wow..nice to see all the requests coming in. Please do not expect these to be complete immediately, the Mapp Squads and Map Makers of Simtropolis will be able to complete requests on their own time.

This is just a fair statement..please don't expect them to take on a request immediately. As for me, I'm very busy right now trying to sort this out for high school. Could we possibly slow down the requests for a little bit. Give are hard working Map Makers a rest.

a greater cincinnati metro are map would be great. it there already two that are good, but one isn't to scale and the other looks akward and crooked. A map that would need to be to scale and encompass the city from Hamilton in the north to florence,ky in the south and from lawrenceburg, in in the west to western cleremont county in the east. Here are some pics to give you some ideas.
