Thanks for the link and the info MallowTheCloud. Yeah, I thought RHF was talking about the config.bmp, not the map itself. I can't wait to get the landscape designer, although I still greatly prefer hand terraforming my maps in the game. Still, I'd like to benefit the site and the community as much as I can and make some good, high quality maps for download.

Would someone here please do me the favor of making a real scale region of Guadalajara? I posted a site to Mexican data here at ST and a SCC called Mexico DEMs. i could also E-mail the files to anyone who is interested and will give credit to the MAPPer in my up coming CJ at SCC.

 

BTW, I am john at SCC, the founding member of the CBIO.

I'm sure we can find somebody to do that...in the meantime, I've decided you all can upload your own maps, I'll just make up the titles and write the captions.

Well... RHF... you didn't really have to use that image as your avatar. If you wanted to, that's great! But... if you don't want to you definately don't have to.

Edit: By reading my post, I noticed that I didn't really explain myself well. I mean, could someone tell what programs I need (the minimum, because my dad doesn't like it when I download crap), and how to make maps. Thanks alot!

Wow, Baazzoo, that looks awesome! So what are we going to do with it, guys? I'm thinking maybe have it placed in the bottom corner of all the screenshots? And MayorTim, thanks for supporting us, it's really appreciated, and I'm sure that one of our excellent mapmakers will get it done soon enough!

Yeah, we do...Greyveil pwned me on chat, where he said You really think you can compete with me? I have experience, blah blah blah... It sucked, he seemed very...snooty towards me. So I told him that no, I probably wasn't as good as him,(not you guys, me)and that I wished him luck. I don't know, I kind of find NDEX is stealing our thunder.....and why did Greyveil have to be so mean on chat?

Baazzoo, that looks great. And RHF, it looks like we have a problem there. Unless it was some kind of April Fools joke then that's pretty weird. We don't need competition here we're just making maps for fun and letting the community use them so greyveil, that kind of stuff is pretty pointless.

I think we should be open to requests at this point. It would help us and the purpose of a Mapp Squad would increase a lot. Hopefully I'll be able to make scale accurate real world terrains soon enough. How about it?

As of 11:23 AM today, the Mapp Squad has 233 downloads from 4 maps! I'll list our top maps and top members, I'll do this once in a while, so that everybody knows how we're doing.

Alright guys, make sure that if somebody requests a map and you are the first to make it, post it! We don't want anymore duplicate maps. For example, now that St. Augustine is out, let Mallow handle Palm Coast and then we'll get started again. I have yet to hear from TNS concerning a new thread/request thread, but when I do, you'll be the first to know. Great job on the latest maps guys, with all these new ones, I'll have to make a new list tomorrow!

Well... it's just hard to let all that work go to waste. I couldn't help posting mine too... Now people can have two different versions of St. Augustine.... if they want to... though I dunno why anybody would want that.

Palm Coast is finished

Great job on Palm Coast Mallow! I've decided the updated list will tonight, with 3 categories: Top Maps, Top Members, and Biggest Uploaders.

Top Maps: the most downloaded maps from the Mapp Squad, ranked. Once more of our maps are out, I'll only show the top 10, but PM me if you want more details.

Top Members: the members whose maps are most downloaded. Like with the maps, as we gain more members, this list will shrink to top 10, but it might be a while before that happens, I think.

Biggest Uploaders: the members who have uploaded the most maps to the STEX. This isn't regulated by downloads, unlike the other 2 lists.

Thanks for your support all, I look forward to seeing more maps from you all! We've helped to revive the map community at Simtrop, give yourselves a hand.
