My Highways Are A Disgrace!

Afraid to say my highways are a complete disgrace - no exaggeration. When a evalated highway ends I simply leave it high and dry without linking it to something, my ground level highway links to a road but I can't get bridges to go over the top of it and in general they are in a mess - any tips?

I tend to use sunken highways now, more than elevated highways. But when I do use the elevated ones I may start and end them by putting in an elevated to ground highway transition, a few tiles of ground highway to an avenue. I usually also decorate my elevated highways with trees and parks along the edges to hide any ugly bits.

The NAM may give more options too, for example with the NAM highway pieces you could probably make a nice transition to your aveues or roads. The NAM mod may be found here: https://www.simtropolis.com/modding/index.cfm?page=1&view=all

Where can I find that highway to avenue transition? I searched through everything (at least I think so) and couldn't find it 15.gif And yea, I have NAM installed.

Normally if you make an elevate highway and then drag a ground highway up to join the end of it, you will get the transition automatically.

If you have the NAM additional highway pieces installed you should have an option for puzzle pieces in your highway menu. After clicking the puzzle pieces button, the TAB key can be used to cycle through the various options. Among them there are start and end pieces, as well as over road/rail/avenue pieces.

To take Sam's above comment one step further, if you then drag an avenue to/from the ground highway, you'll have your transition. It also usually works if you drag the highway to a perpendicular avenue. (T Intersection)

There's a threeway avenue cloverleaf in the NAM.

Also to save space you can just do a Elevated Highway to avenue.
