It was only a couple weeks before the first cartographer had mapped out the area and planned communities, which were already under construction.
    map4bx.jpg

Also reported was a flee. About 20 people ran with 5 settler bags and dissapeared into the woods.

George Huxley was going over the map. He decided that 2000 people would be a good start for the western community. He would send another 1000 to work at the mountain site, almost all of which would be employed mining the stone for concrete. The other 2 communities would get farmers, and wouldn't be very big. The potential for them was quite limited, especially the one isolate by the lake. The one beside the river would get good traffic, so it had some future potential.

He approved the road plans, and as soon as the conrete was being processed, he would have it mixed and road construction would begin.

Nice, and I wonder what will happen with the 20 people who ran away into the woods, will they from their own community somewhere, or will they just die out?

    Leech10 - We'll soon find out 2.gif

Brutally Honest - So apparently every CJ that takes place on a new planet is a Nexis of Genesis clone. Meaning every CJ that was ever made on a city is a clone of the first one of that. Meaning that they can have radically different storylines, but because their linked by the sole reason of taking place on another planet, it becomes a clone. Thats like me saying every guy is a clone of adam because they're all males, or all FPS games are clones of the first fps ever made.

You my friend have very linear thinking.

    rewright - Thanks!

hm. not sure how i managed to miss this one so far, but you are doing a very impressive job, ThePeoplePerson. very creative, very good story writing, and i like how you use lots for things other than intended - also a great show of creativity.

however, let me remind everyone to exhibit some patience...'tis nice for a journalist to get comments and such, but not so much for demands for updates. sometimes, updates take a while. other times, the journalist might not be in the mood, or a real life situation is more important at the time. we are not paying for this entertainment, so whe should be a bit patient.

Sorry for the lack of updates in a while. I've been very busy with work, school, and friends. With the nice weather that has finally come I haven't had enough time for Sim City 4 recently. I'm hoping to have some updates soon however! I'll make sure the next update is a big one though. We'll have more story, and will be looking at the communities that are starting up.

It has been 6 months since the initial construction began on Hermoso. Hermoso's foundation has firmly been laid, and everybody has home. Currently, Hermoso consists of 3 towns, and a few communities.

First stop is the town of Monsoon which was built at the base of the Monsoon cliffs, named after the first explorer to find them. Monsoon is the most vital town to Hermoso since Hermoso's beggining. Its mines were the first industries open, and are running 24-7. The demand for conrete for use on roads and buildings is extremely high. The hillside of Monsoon, in the north, is currently being terraformed into steppes for new housing for future residents.
    al1314dp.jpg

    al1321pq.jpg

Next we have the community of Cedar Lake. It has a population of approximately 100 people, almost all of whom are farmers provinding food for the entirity of Hermoso. It is the only community not connected directly by highway 1, and only has a low capacity road running to highway 1 currently. Not all the farms are located in Cedar lake. Cedar lake has about 70% of the total farms however. The rest are dispersed around highway 1.
    al1337ts.jpg

Finally we have the town of Lexington, which is just a little smaller the Vita. Huxley is very fond of the work done in Lexington, and believes that it will become the largest community on Hermoso for some time. The Holson bridge is a marvel for Hermoso, and was thought out well. It needed to be high enough to accomodate for ship traffic in the future when the area would have port support. Ships aren't planned for anytime soon, but they wanted it to be done right the first time.

    al1357pu.jpg

    al1363gf.jpg

Huxley, the founder of Hermoso is staged to be making his first big announcement since the very beggining of Hermoso tomorrow. Sources say that the speech will talk about what needs to be done next, and some suprises apparently.

dhoppeii - Thanks. I really liked how the bridge turned out myself. Thats the first time I've used the slope mod, and I must say it does give a much nicer look to inclines.

Leech10 - Most of the construction lots/ dirt I've made in the lot editor for my own use. However if you're talking about how the dirt has irregular shapes, thats photo editing. I find that having all my dirt  ending up on perfect 90 degree angles in perfect squares is too unrealistic. So I edit the pictures to make them more realistic, adding dirt stains on the roads near them and just get it looking more eye appealing overall.

Edit : I forgot to add. I have decided that starting on page 3, my new images posted will all be 640*480. This will be done so that a) The posts aren't to long sideways to read and b)Theres probably alot of 56kers out there, so I'm going to try and put less strain on your modems 18.gif

    The Plans

The crowd that attended was enormous. Not as big of an attendance as the very first announcement, but that was expected. The turnout however was much grater than expected. George straightened his tie and walked up onto the podium, and the crowd cheered. He was an icon, the public loved him. He was going to talk about the future of Hermoso, what was in store for the new world, and how it would be done. He started with a small speech congratulating everyone on their work and the success that Hermoso was going to be. He made the crowd right at home, and that

Sloppet-Right now 2.gif. I'm in eastern time so I'm uploading it before I go to school. I don't want to break stride with my CJ quite just yet. You will be seeing a regional view soon, but it's not quite ready yet.

jacqulina- Thanks. I've expanded the mine to almost 3 times its original size now, as you'll see.

A Look at Vita and the Progress on Hermoso...

Hermoso has been very busy lately in anticipation and preperation for the next landing of people. The railroad is about 75% done, with only a few more sectiosn of rail to lay and the completion of the stations.
    al1476lf.jpg

Moving Southeast from the mine, the new railroad crosses over highway 1, and passes through untouched forests and a few farms dotted along the way...
    al1462ac.jpg

From here, we take highway 1 and pass the Henderson's automobile manufacturing plant.
    al1418ge.jpg

We drive up the embankment over the Vita bridge and now vita is in sight.
    al1429io.jpg

Looking left, Vita isn't the prettiest town yet, as you're greeted by mostly dirty industry that runs the power for Hermoso.
    al1450gr.jpg

Looking right, down below this road however is Vita's nice port, slightly larger then Lexington's.
    al1449ra.jpg

Continuing down the main street we come to the end of Vita so far, where a brand new hospital has been made.
    al1432oe.jpg
