Show us your armed forces and military installations!  There are a few grossly obselete threads similar to this, but, they are woefully outdated; thus, warranting the creation of this new thread!

Here is a "spy satellite photo" of a military installation in Montaukshire:

No, the photo is a "spy satellite pic" taken by an enemy satellite.

But, yeah, cime on, people, show off your forces!

I think what they are trying to say is, thats one terrible satellite! Most modern satellites take full color high definition images. Anyway, I don't have any army bases as of yet, because there are no army base sets on the STEX (Not even bad ones)...

Do you think we could see an unedited picture of your base DT? I am interested in what it looks like.

I think there was once a project about creating army stuff in a similar way to the common airport packs, so you could plop a large military base like you want.

But I think it's senseless, since there is no military stuff in the Stex (at least I don't know any...)

lol, now after we got mature stuff on the Stex, we need gunz ppl xD

and even if dev starts to complain about it again.....

This Fort Floyd in Floyd Mesa, Colorado (NOT A REAL PLACE). This Milliary base is build mostly on the famous Floyd Mesa named after Floyd E. Alexanders. His father James D. Alexanders was a milliary general during World War I and he named it after his son in 1940 when it was build.James D. Alexander Died from serve brain damage after he had a stoke. Floyd E. Alexanders became the head of operations at the fort and fought in World War II as a air force pilot. He end up dying in combat when he was shot down in the pacific ocean. He left a dearing wife and two little boys who grewn up to be stock brokers in New York. Fort Floyd is still a active base. Its been active from 1940 to present day.

I give you: STRATTON CITADEL MILITARY BASE  (which is basically a page out of my CJ lol)

    strattoncitadeloct15812uo4.jpg

The Entrance to the Maximum security facility is not as rigid as one might expect, but the ramparts of the tremendous security wall, in addition to various guns pointing about, are imposing enough to frighten the weak or heart.

    strattoncitadeloct30581rj9.jpg

The first area inside the base is not the testament to power that one might think. The relatively laid back area is for the small time employees that do the bureaucratic grunt work for the base, along with medical workers and National Guard members. Basicly everyone who dosn't need to know what is going on.

    strattoncitadelnov35812nn6.jpg

One of the most imposing aspects of the base is the massive security wall put in place to fend off any ground attack and to keep out prying eyes. The top is wide enough to drive two lanes of heavy armor and is ocasionally used for transport along with patrols.

    strattoncitadelaug18601io4.jpg

The defense also includes various gun implacements and mobile PATRIOT missiles to fend off any attack.

    strattoncitadeldec10581nm7.jpg

The base's radar and satellite array is one of the largest and most advanced around.

    strattoncitadelsep12591pd0.jpg

    strattoncitadelsep15591cr4.jpg

Remember kids, you cant blow stuff up if you don't have any ammo 39.gifAnd it is stored thusly: With a hole in the ground next to a quad-cannon!

    strattoncitadeldec26591zc1.jpg

The most secure, defended, and sensitive area is both where the main HQ is and the place where things are stored... things of a nuclear nature... and the top brass's cookie stash (SHHHH!!!!! NOBODY TELL).

    strattoncitadeldec28591db6.jpg

    strattoncitadeljan56012wo7.jpg

    Is it HOT in here?

    strattoncitadeljan2missfi4.jpg

Next on our tour of places things are stored, the place where they store solders!!! In other words, here is the main barracks and the  facilities to support the men.

    strattoncitadelsep19591vt4.jpg

    strattoncitadeloct28591mv3.jpg

Officer's quarters and the camp alarm clock.

    strattoncitadeljan27601kk8.jpg

Next we have (one of) the biggest parking lots around, the storage and support facilities for all the big guns rolling around the Citadel.

    strattoncitadelnov15912an5.jpg

    Fuel Depot. 3.gif

    strattoncitadeldec75912hv9.jpg

    THE Fuel Depot.

    strattoncitadelnov14591rt7.jpg

    Support vehicle storage.

    strattoncitadelnov16591ug2.jpg

    FUN vehicle storage.

    strattoncitadelnov10591ig4.jpg

The APC department is the most used, after all, you don't usually need a MBT to get your mail.

    strattoncitadelnov75912ey3.jpg

The supply depot and the on-base refinery.

    strattoncitadeljan25601zy9.jpg

The supplies usually come through either by rail or by sea via the supply port. (forgive the mayor menu, now you know what my map looks like 6.gif6.gif6.gif

    strattoncitadeljun86012kc4.jpg

Every train, going in and out, must get through tight security.

    strattoncitadeljun26601rg1.jpg

And on that note, we turn to the deteriorating situation in the Middle East.

Tension continues to grow as each side grows weary of conflict, tempers are flaring, and rational thought is deminishing. IT can only culminate into one thing...

    strattoncitadelfeb25conya9.jpg

An urban training area!!! Not to mention the other training facilities to keep the solders sharp. (I fooled ya' good!)

    trainingoverem2.jpg

Detail of forest training zone. This area is mostly used for vehicle training, but infantry scenarios are set up ocasionally.

    strattoncitadelmar23601oe8.jpg

    strattoncitadelmar13601zl5.jpg

Hoped you liked my clog-the-thread-with-pictures post. Its the least I can do 44.gif

Mayby I'll post the airforce base some time.

    HI military-experts 21.gif

I just wanted to show some pics of a Military Base I lotted recently (I think I will need it in future), because the US-style of the ingame-lot doesn't fit in most of my cities.

I hope to get some suggestions over here to increase the look of it.

So here's a overview of the "testing" area. Added some houses, commercial and finally checkpoints on both ends of the street (closed, with barriers on the left, open on the right)overviewtest.jpg

A zoom-in to the closed checkpoints:

    checkpoint.jpg

And finally a zoom-in of the base itself:

    baseu.jpg

I wanted it to look a bit like a military base from around where I come from. Just to compare:

    reallife.jpg

    The things I know:

    • There are still some glitches I have to put work in, like the strange square at the checkpoints.
    • The size is way to small. But it's meant to be put on a medium tile. I might work on a bigger additional lot for vehicles though.

I'd appreciate suggestions that help me improving the lot(s). Don't tell me to bat some new buildings, cause that's far off my skills yet.3.gif

Go with the SNM lots over on SC4 Devotion. The props and lots are simpy amazing, all military styled. Also the plane props from tabi, also on that site, are perfect for custom Air force bases.

Sorry for the advertising. Please don't ban me all powerful moderators.

Mmmm zombie thread. I doubt I had even 100 posts when I made that base 3.gif

trainguy4449: Lol, Advertising? No one would ever ban you for something like that. Sharing knowledge about how to improve SC4 is encouraged, not punished. But yes, SNM lots are a must have if you want to make military bases, just the base props are enough to fill your time in LE (just look at my example).

By the way, Tabi's stuff can be found here: http://homepage2.nifty.com/tabinohito/

and other air force jets here: http://nonred.exblog.jp/
