Why? Is it because its better than yours? Or is it because I plopped everything there? (Not everything)

I think I mess with photoshop too much. The CBD of Bayview with a 3D cinematic feel, I kinda went and plopped the baseball stadium almost as soon as I downloaded it.3.gif I think it fits in very nice. At first I thought it would have been too big.

These make ME depressed too - Yes, because they ARE better than my cities, but that and the fact that I'm too new and inexperienced to make a very well-functioning city beyond that of 50,000 people before the map gets a bit congested.

I got a close up of my recent skyscraper district. Unlike most of the cities that I show in my CJ, this one is actually populated by people.

shadow_prophet your picture looks very cool. especially the taipei 101. But don't you think that it is a little bit strange to build an airport in the centre of a city?

The pictures below are from my largest cities right now. 4 cities. I'm not good in making nice pictures, so I hope this is enough. I try to make my cities look more realistic.

Exactly what i was thinking.I pity the planes landing here because in order to make it to the runway they actually make a 90 degree turn from the lowest level buildings before landing. But that was not the only airport. On the right side unseen in this pic is the large international airport, so in fact there is plenty of room for any plane too land. I am accumulating enough cash to do an entire urban redevelopment plan to rectify this.

But in light of this i want to post a question before i do anything.

Now that my entire City has developed a lot of high rise buildings filled with CS$$, CO$$, CS$$...etc Will taking away the airport permanently, cause a drop in commercial and residential demand and lead to major abandonment of my buildings and a sudden decrease in population?

Thanks for the help.

to answer shadowprophet it shouldn't.  The airport isn't functional, its eye candy.  Unless you have placed the airport tram the city doesn't even know there's an airport there.

Eyecandy? The ones in this city is the maxis default airports.

And just to know what is this airport tram you speak of. Is it a lot where it functions as an airport when placed?

Here are some pics of my biggest city. The buildings aren't tall but i think that the sheer number of them is okay. 550,000+ residential pop. 270,000+ Commercial pop. No industry

lol, exactly how would the planes land if this were a real city? Heh heh.quote>

I thought i explained that already... Well anyways there's a larger open space on the right side of the city not seen in this picture and where the international airport would be as well. Its large enoguh and wide enough for a plane to land "realistically" speaking, In fact what you see there is only half of the  area. And also the planes do in fact land from the eastern side so seems pretty realistic to me.

So yeah.... why is it a big deal? Don't pick on me TT_TT lol. j/k

This is Two Lakes City.  It is nowhere near my largest, with only 270,000 people or so, but the downtown is my favorite.  This is the first major city I built after beginning to download from Simtropolis.  Make no mistake, though, I never use ploppable RCIs.  Every non-civic building is 100% home-grown. 4.gif

A broad view of the downtown isthmus between the two lakes.

Welcome to downtown.  You'll notice an annoying proliferation of Kinzie Towers, but other than that, I'm quite pleased.  I intend to add walls along the waterfront, perhaps, and keep pushing for more large commercial towers.

The downtown of Two Lakes City started out further south, and the area is still relatively prosperous.

And finally, Lake Stadium, home of the Two Lakes Salmon, who regularly make journeys through the play-offs to reach the frigid waters upstream. Many will not complete the voyage.
Oh, and parking is on the mainland, with free buses and shuttles to transport the fans.

Well...That was probably my best one. I regret deleting it.26.gif

Im trying to get the perfect dense downtown that is somewhat real, and I didn't feel that was good enough.

Plus Im having a hell of a time terraforming with maxis tools and the terraformer doesn't work for me.
