Here are two of mine, not as spectacular as the one above, but kinda....well......hm....Ok, I guess.

1. A train caught on fire when it got hit by a car

2. A small residential fire, someone fell asleep with a lit cigarette

It will go out right away if the building has fire coverage. Get rid of any fire departments that cover it and it will light right up!

I wish I could get fires like that in SC4...now with an adaquate fire deptartment nothing ever burns. I remember a lot of fun (and a great challenge) putting out fires in SC2K and SC3000...oh and remember riots....I've never had one in SC4. I also don't get strikes (threats, yea but no real strikes of teachers and healthcare), like I did in previous versions. Am I a better player, yes but those events and challenges were fun. Maybe I'll bulldoze a coupla fire stations in some cities that I'm not to happy with and see what happens...be more fun than destroying a city with the atomic bomb! That's my 2 pence on the subject.

mrbisonm: Why create a completly new thread, when this can be put into the show us your accomplishments thread, Simcity is not about fires or disasters, but trying to build a city!! HENCE THE NAME simCITY, not simDisaster! Think about this?!

My my my aren't we the purist. By your logic why start any show me threads? It can all be put in show us your accomplishments. Separate threads allow for specialization whereas the show us your accomplishments is a broad aggregate. People can enjoy a game in different ways and this a large community that takes in many people with different ways of playing and different goals. Let the people have their fun, they're not hurting anything and its a different idea that deserves a place. If you don't care for it, don't visit the thread (I note you've been here three times now so it can't be all that uninteresting).

A broad place is where you are supposed to put it, why create threads for something as specific as this......An analogy is Simcity : fires Sims2 : sinks... don't see anyone creating threads like that...... Think about what you said, If you wanted more examples of disasters, why didn't they start a thread "Show us your Disasters", I believe that the oppurtunity to get posts from that thread far exceeding the potential of this thread and also to elaborate, you would also get a plethora of fires with an assortment of many other disasters!!!!! THINK about what you said!

I didn't need to post pics, neither do you, but I'm not in here slamming the idea. Why a specific thread about fires? Specific is specialized. If I wanted to find pictures of fires I would go to a thread that shows pictures of them because that's where they're concentrated. Same applies for the other show me threads of which there are many (canals, transportation etc). If I'm just casually looking around then show us your accomplishments is fine, but who wants to hunt through all those pages if you want to find some specific types of images. Specialization is our friend. So if I wanted to find Sinks in the Sims 2, well a sinks thread would be welcome. Specialization isn't a problem because if a thread is too narrowly tailored, then it won't generate much interest and will die on its own... that is unless two people start arguing about whether or not it has merit

As for why not show us your disasters, it's not a bad idea. However, that's not what the thread posters started and its not what you offered as constructive criticism when you came here and rubished the topic. My point is that this topic doesn't hurt anyone and it does fill a niche that a broader thread, except for maybe show us your disasters, doesn't.

Bandwidth (if I remember right...) is something to the affect that for everytime someone loads up a page that is for example 24k, then it takes bandwidth away. As long as nobody visits the thread, no bandwidth will be, as you say, wasted .

Well, I saw this on the homepage, and thought it might to be fun to get involved.

This is an edited image from the latest update of my CJ, found on page 33.  A bombing occurs in Green Depra.  This is just one image of the horrible explosion and fire....
