Well this project still has a few months left in it.  Along with 7 world trade, I want to return to the original buildings and make a few updates.  I also have plans for a memorial version of the lot, so there is still a lot of work to do.  So don't stop visiting this thread yet, there is still alot to come.

Well I did a quick search and it seems as though most of the old images have been deleted or else I would point you to a different thread.  But here is a pic of the Sea-first center with a few other landmarks.

I'm not sure why they made it so small.  I think it was one of the biggest complaints with RH.  The Seafirst Tower is supposed to be 3/4 the heighth of the ESB but as you can see in that pic it's about 1/2 the size.

Well I haven't completely decided exactly what I want to do for the memorial version but I have a few ideas.  I'll probably be trying to include some design elements of the submitted designs that didn't end up being chosen.

I finally get around to reworking the loading dock.  I haven't added in all of the detail yet, but here is what I've done so far.

Well I might decide to do the WFC, but it's far down the line if I do.

Here's a few more updated shots of the entries on 7wt.  The overpasses aren't completely finished yet as they will be exported on their own, but the general shapes and textures are there.
    /idealbb/files/7WTCEntryFront925.jpg

The left entry which is pretty much done.  I will probably change the doors around a little though as I think they need to be full glass doors.
    /idealbb/files/7WTCEntryLeft925.jpg

The right entry is also pretty close to done, but again I need to redo the doors.  You can also see the finished loading dock complete with a semi-truck provided by G. W. Chapman at www.3dcafe.com .

Well I definately wouldn't say your's looks like crap.  It's just the difference between professional model, and a model created by someone still learning the ins and outs of the program.  GMax and it's counterparts take years to fully master, and after 5 years of working with rendering programs, I still am learning new things.  So don't feel too bad that mine might be better than yours, just try to look at what i did differently and try to learn from it.

FYI the lots have been updated on the STEX.  The reward and landmark lots only include an icon update, but the construction includes an update that fixes the overlay texture problem.  Make sure to update the texture pack as well.

Thanks Kenneth.  If you hadn't have said anything it would've remained the wrong link for years to come.

It's been a busy work week so I've had little time to work on seven.  But expect a few night time shots in the next couple of days.  Finalizing this project has been a little slow, but still expect it to make it into the Octoberfest schedule late in the month.

    Hey Rubik,

Just wondering if there has been any progress on this at all. Can't wait for the release!

Well if you look at it in zoom 5 it looks much better.  The night window textures are a nuesance as they tend to brighten up in further zooms.  I plan on gonig back and redoing the night lighting on the towers and the hotel much like the lighting on 4-6.

I finally found some time to work on 7 a little bit.  Here's a pic showing the progress on the night lighting.

7WTC is looking great, Rubik. I'm just curious what your plans are to connect it to the rest of the WTC lot. I know you had to take some liberties with the base to make it all work for SC4.

Odd question, but what is wrong with the one that is on the STEX?

I going to assume (even though I shouldn't, because everyone knows what happens when you assume) that dev's comment was directed at me. Perhaps I should have phrased my post a little better. I meant that Rubik had to take some liberties with the creation of the base of the WTC complex in order to make it work for SC4. In real life, about half of the complex was at ground level. Rubik had to change it and put everything on an elevated base since SC4 will not let you do that.

Just gorgeous! You are quite talented! I was at the site last weekend and every time I visit, I remember my memories and also seeing your lot on a daily basis helps me remember more as I try to place the original buildings in my mind in the empty space downtown. Your lot has really helped my ability to go downtown and just really see the WTC there in all its glory with all the plaza buildings. You and everyone else who contributed has done just a wonderful job. Thanks again (they really need a smiley with just one tear slowly coming down)

Well I'll have to do some testing to see how the overpasses will act on varied slopes, but my plan is to release at least 3 lots.  I'll probably do the same reward/landmark versions of the building, then I'll have two lots for the pedestrian overpasses.  Though with the overpasses there will probably be like 6 versions of each one to go over each kind of network peice.  Then I'll probably do yet another version of the overpasses because the ones connecting to the WTC lot will have to be offset and not centered over the road, which people may want so that they can use them elsewhere.

Odd question, but what is wrong with the one that is on the STEX?

If you are refering to the other Seven World Trade by NintendoMaster then I'll have to plead the fifth 2.gif.  I don't like downplaying other people's efforts so I'll just say that it's not quite up to my extreme attention to detail.  Also everyone has a different style to their buildings, even if it's a real life replica, and I felt that I needed to complete the complex with a version in my own style.

I'm glad I could help fill the void.  Looking at the skyline of Manhatten now it's pretty easy to tell where the towers used to stand, how could anyone forget that skyline?  But even after working on this project for so long I still find it hard to visualize the complex from looking at groundzero.  The shear scale of the complex still throughs me for a loop whenever I look at it in SC.

Here's another update for seven.  The lighting on the back is getting close to finished, but now that it is lit up I need to fill the void in the entry windows so I'll probably be adding in some interior furniture.
