I discussed with somebody today. However, although I was going to make a point of saying it aloud when the time came, I found myself listening to the assistant DA in my county tell us about how he stepped in somebody's b-...um...well, it was a deadly accident, and it was all over the road...and with this story the thought of telling the time simply escaped my mind.

The trouble is that the numbers don't really line up in this format. Youd need to have the units go from smallest to largest or largest to smallest.

So It would have to be 3:02:01 AM (the AM part is important, since at PM it's really 15:02:01) on the fourth of April of 06. Of course, even then the argument is useless since it isn't 06, it's 2006. So the last time something like this could actually have been said to happen would have been at 10:09:08 AM on December eleventh of 13 AD. And it will never happen again!

Next truly interesting time moment: 11:11:11 AM, November 11th, 11111 AD. No such thing can happen in 2222  since there's no 22nd month. In 3333, 4444, and 5555, we also overfow the days and hours values (no month with more than 31 days, only 24 hours in a day) as well, and in 6666, 7777, 8888, and 9999, we overflow the minutes and seconds values on top of that.

I believe that, by the Japanese calendar, the year is 17 now.  But I'm not 100% certain about that.  It's around that.

And yes, the year 17 and just 17. 

The news there said that the bullet train's automatic ticketing system was overloaded at that time because so many people decided to buy a ticket at 11:11 am 11/11/11.

ISO8601 states that the proper, standard way of telling time is YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss. So, our "123456" is really a 2006-04-05 01:02:03 or 645123. Our 123456 was really 1-02-03 04:05:06, or six seconds after the fifth minute of the fourth hour on the third day of February, 1CE. Jesus would have been around to witness it, but since we technically didn't use this calender (the Gregorian Calender) then, it wasn't really official. Unless we start a new common era, it won't happen again.

And Duke, as an outspoken athiest, you should stop using AD (Anno Domini, marking the birth of Jesus Christ) and BC (before the birth of Christ) and start using BCE (before the common era) and CE (common era). It would make you less hypocritical?

Anno Domini actually means "In The Year Of Our Lord"...the era in which Christ will return.

It's the way it's been done for years...get over it...What if Christians decided to change the year just so 6/6/2006 couldn't happen? It's dumb.

vid: Athiest or not, I absolutely hate political correctness. And that's the only reason that this "BCE and "CE" notation was thought up. So I think it's stupid.

cjah and Micah: Apparently you two missed or are ignoring my other post. A lining up of sixes occured at 6:06:06 AM on June 6th, 6 AD. And it will never happen again. 06:06:06 on 06/06/2006 doesn't work. And we can't say include all digits since 66:66:66 on 66/66/6666 doesn't work either.

So if satan is paying attention to the calendar, whatever significance due to it ocuured 2000 years ago, and will not be occuring again.

True lining ups of numbers in time are exceedingly rare. As stated before, the next lining up will occur at 11:11:11 AM on November 11th of the year 11111. The last one was at 12:12:12 PM on December 12th, 1212.

You underestimate the power of good ol' political correctness dev. I tell you...those people really have too many "oppressed minorities" to look out for. The western calender is based upon the birth of Jesus Christ (even from a strictly non-religious point of view), the western world's greatest figure.

Well, personally, I don't include all of '2006'... I abbrev. it all so that it turns out like the following: 06/06/06 06:06:06am or pm.

Also, historians agree that Jesus' birthday was actually in mid-March. Just imagine Christmas (Jesus' birthday) in mid-March!

Yeah, I've heard that the calendar is supposedly 4 years off. But then again, I don't really mind or care. After all, it's the fact that His birth (whenever it was) actually occured in the first place that interests me more. 

Btw, I didn't meant that the calender is based on the year of His birth and not necessarily His birthday. Besides, Christmas and New Year's Day is 7 days apart.  It's close enough. =P

True; if you go into that you will find that Christmas is was the day of a popular celebration, Saturnalia, which often involved unsavory things. So the 25th was chosen to basically change the celebration from what it was to the celebration of Christ's birth. Not to say I dislike Saturnalia; but I like celebrating Christ better
