Remember all that money we spent on these guys? Now where is General Montgomery when we need him? The western world has spend billions on Libya, a lot of it recently, and they can't even keep their ports out of rebel hands. Radicalization of Islam continues in spite of or in accordance with the Saudi regime's mood, apparently. Since Islam lacks a central authority, the number of schisms seems to be multiplying daily as each tinpot Mahdi sets up his own set of jihadists. Something has to be done by the Arabs themselves before the whole works becomes a giant anarchy. The Western states need to keep their hands in their pockets and their people at home.

This keeps getting hotter. This brouhaha has been on for over two years now, and it seems to be getting broader attention. The Israelis claim self-defence but is it really? There are too many toys in the middle east thanks to the "super powers" past and present. A plague on all their houses.

I felt this is getting to the point where it needs its own thread. Private armies and the Taliban? Pilgrimage has its risks. Private funeral held for rape victim. The Hind Peninsula is the second most populous area in the world after China. I don't think it can be ignored. It is in the news more and more. Both Pakistan and India are members of the nuclear club.

I think it is time to have a separate thread on this subject where we can collect things. First contribution Note that these embassies/consulates are simply closed, not withdrawn. Precautions like this should not be necessary, but with the "provocation", things have come to this. The lessons of freedom have not be learned by many people. We all know that freedom comes only from within.

I believe this hot topic deserves its own thread. Things seem to be coming to a head as the diplmats seem to be reachng an impasse. Our Russian and Chinese "friends" seem to desire unrest in the world and fail to get on board with the rest of the U.N. Today's developments. If the new opposition leader can get any kind of control over the various factions, it may help.
