Nights in Bedroom are always long and peaceful - as they should be. The wealthy, value silence and their own personnal space, so it is usually unlikely to witness any disturbance in the Resident capital which has plenty of demanding and wealthy citizens. This is probably why in the 28th Y.O.U.S many of Bedroom's citizens started to complain about loud music, blasting somewhere from beyond the town's South-Western border. This inconvenience started to appear at regular intervals and was usually most intense during warm, summer evenings. In time, it has been decided that the phenomenon needs to be investigated closer and a small team was selected to travel to the source of the noise. A group consisting of four police officers and a secretary of The Resident Tribal Council was put together. When the nighttime music was heard again, the team cast off the following morning to check what was going on. After clearing the Resident coastal waters, the investigators arrived to a shore outside their town and quickly noticed a number of yachts parked at a local beach. None of them looked like any of the boats that have been registered in Bedroom. After landing, The Residents have also noticed a large tent camp and smoldering bonfires nearby. It could seem as if there was nobody in the camp at all, if it wasn't for loud snoring coming from some tents. Lots of bottles and chips packages were also strewn around. It seemed that whomever stopped here were definitely having fun last night... The Residents were looking around the camp with visible disgust, their aesthetic sensibilities clearly offended. A few minutes later, they noticed three people coming over the beach towards the camp. The two groups soon approached each other and started a conversation. - Hiya... - said one of the strangers who was a young, shirtless and skinny man with black hair and a pleasant but mischevious smile - What are you guys doing in our camp? I think you're not from our "floating village", are you? The Resident policemen looked at the Tribal Council Secretary who was the person of the highest rank among the gathered. The Secretary took a deep breath and introduced himself and his colleagues in an elegant, solemn way. Then, continued to explain whom they were. - We belong to the tribe of Residents and live just Northeast from here. We are terribly sorry to interrupt you, but some of our citizens complain about the loud music and behavior that you seem to exercise in this camp... I was thus wondering if you could possibly be so kind to keep it down so our tribe can again enjoy peaceful and silent evenings? - Oh... yeah, I mean, sorry about that. We belong to a group of settlers who travelled to find a spot for a new city. This one is perfect and we simply held some parties to celebrate this precious find. - No worries though! - said a tall, black-haired girl, apparently the skinny guy's relative or partner - Once our tribe starts to build up, we'll move our parties indoors. That should help! The Residents' blood froze after these replies and the Secretary asked uneasily; - Excuse me... you plan to settle here...? - Indeed. But you'd better talk to Flin Gobias, our nominee mayor, for the details... I'm afraid he's still sleeping though. They had a rough night yesterday, you know. The Residents did not feel too happy to hear the news about a bunch of summertime, beach-hippies discovering a dream spot for a new city just next door from their refined capital. The Secretary decided, nonetheless, to keep asking questions to find out a bit more about their "guests". And soon-to-be neighbors... - You said 'once our tribe starts to build'... I believe you didn't tell us yet which tribe are you from? Did you? - Oh! Right! We are from The Slackers tribe! Two of the policeman let out an audible, worried groan being familiar with the tribe's shenanigans. The Secretary, however, kept up the discussion in order to try to learn as much as he could about the guests' intentions and plan for the new town. As an intelligent person, he knew that he had to gather as much information as possible to determine just how bad a neighbor like this could be for his aristocratic compatriots... In the afternoon, the delegation returned to Bedroom after exchanging contact information with some of the people in the Slacker bivouac grounds. The Council has received the report of the Secretary and it became clear that an intertribal contact was made. As a result, an urgent meeting of The Resident Tribal Council was ordered. During the meeting, a lively discussion ensued in the course of which, the officials tried to determine and convince each other how to manage this new, unexpected contact. Eventually, The Resident Tribal Council have decided to give the Slacker settlers the benefit of the doubt and voted to welcome the establishment of Dolittle. The Residents did not wish to run the new town jointly with The Slackers, despite being offered such an opportunity. They did, however, provide some funding for beautification of the new town, having a secret agenda to at least make Dolittle look and feel more expensive... Once everything was settled and builders from Cape Careless arrived, the construction of the new town began... Eyeing an opportunity to gain extra wealth and recuperate some of the costs of aid granted to their neighbors, The Residents have also cleverly offered to sell some of their plantations' products to The Slackers. A rail line from Bedroom has been extended as a result for the specific purpose of transporting plantation goods into Dolittle. And it was a crucial project given The Slackers' insanely poor roadwork...! The spontaneous meeting of Slacker settlers and a team of Residents have resulted in the formation of a new town and a chance for the latter to become a more dynamic tribe. Many though are wondering at what cost... This event have also caused The Slackers to become the best connected tribe in New Udanani, being diplomatically linked to The Residents, The Businesspeople and The Gridlayers... Comment replies: @Ke|is - Thank you for your vote and a nice comment! @whiteshark365 - Indeed. I guess time will tell how these two will get along with each other... and how the above two will! Thanks for the comment and for participating. @TogaMasterJohn - It's finally warm outside, no wonder you've been missing from the forums. Well, the Businesspeople could try to wire into the Slacker tourism sector but it will require patience and the nerves of steel. We'll see!
