Your plan is fundamentally flawed. 1. It is impossible to create a site of this size in 2 months or even a year, taking into consideration that you (probably) do not know anything about building websites. 2. Even if you somehow managed to buy or rent servers, host the completed website, and manage to have at least 100 active users at any given time; I seriously doubt that you would be qualified to even be a moderator of any decent website, let alone have the linguistic, cultural, and technical knowledge to maintain a user base potentially well into the tens of thousands from dozens of different countries. You may not pay much attention to countries outside of Europe, but there exists very large SC4 communities in China, S. Korea, and Japan. 3. Etc., etc., etc.; Your plan is far-fetched. Something similar to your idea was attempted a year ago in the form of a network as illustrated below: Although some ties remain strong to this day, the network gradually fell apart because 1. the trilingual, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic member (2ch) that launched this network idea left the SC4 "universe" presumably permanently, and because 2. There was no real need for such an endeavor, besides bringing the communities closer together.

What you could do is either 1. erase a different hard drive, or 2. buy another (cheap) hard drive and install Windows XP by replacing the hard drive currently in your computer. Then you could connect your messed up hard drive to your computer by plugging it into your PATA (ATA) slave connector (and changing jumper pins) or by connecting another SATA cable to the motherboard and hard drive. Then you'd be able to try accessing your files or try recovering them using utilities. These utilities are most often payware but they are pretty darn useful. Alternatively, instead of replacing the messed-up hard drive, you could connect the said hard drive to another computer by above methods. If you're running a notebook computer, taking out the hard drive should be possible but putting in a second one wouldn't be, so you should invest in a cheap dongle that connects hard drives to the computer via USB. These hard drives are smaller and require a different connector (in the case of PATA hard drives), so you should be careful when picking out dongles. EDIT: yes, it's confusing, but there are a ton of tutorials for it on the web. EDIT 2: OR, you could create another partition and install XP there, but only if you have the space left, and if you don't know what you're doing you could wipe the entire hard drive at the press of a key. I dislike this method because it is very confusing and very hard to troubleshoot in case something goes wrong.

I don't think there needs to be a capital. Back when nations were centered around them, the capital served as the seat of power and thus was the economical and informational center of the country, or vice versa. In this highly globalized age, there need not be a capital as most people in developed countries have access to instant news and news travels to almost all parts of this globe in less than a week. As for the politics, the UN is in an autonomous patch of land "in" NYC. Economy? This isn't the great depression, this is the modern world. We already have an increasingly decentralizing global economy dependent on imports and exports. We don't need a capital, the capital won't benefit in any significant way and it'll only be the cause for more arguments. Really, does anyone read these?

Speaking as a Japanese who has had the (very) occasional whale, I don't think whaling is more cruel than killing any other mammal, and that killing 1000 whales isn't going to upset the whale population (at least in the long run). More facts (forgive me if I'm wrong, haven't googled them) about Japanese whaling and whaling in general: The oldest record of whaling in Japan is from the oldest surviving book in Japan. Commodore Perry of the USA, who opened Japan to the world in 1854, did that because a whaling base was needed. Around that time period, western nations without whaling traditions started hunting many whales for the sole purpose of obtaining easy blubber. As a result, the whale population went into a decline. After Japan lost WWII, Gen. MacArthur formed the school lunch system during Japan's occupation and recommended whale meat for its nutritional content. In the eighties, when beef was abundant and whale meat was considered unfavorable by the public (due to the way schools prepared it!), the government decided to ban whaling, because of protests and international pressure. Of course, the whaling industry fell apart and many people lost their jobs. It is widely accepted in Japan that whaling for whale meat due to "scientific reasons" is because it's the only way to whale while the ban is in effect. Whale meat tastes a lot like beef if prepared properly.

Well, some main lines here in Japan still use single-track because of the rural and mountainous terrain in between cities, and the punctual schedule that doesn't make trains late because of another train late to arrive at the siding. I am thinking of making something similar to swiss mountain railroads by BATing a single-track viaduct offset vertically and sideways so that only the tracks at the top would show at level terrain and the viaduct itself would show only on slopes to the left or right. Of course, I don't have the ability to BAT such an object...

BTW, I was born in Funabashi-shi, a city 30 minutes away from Tokyo (by commuter train) in Chiba (prefecture, adjacent to Tokyo Metropolitan District). I'll be going to Tokyo in a week or so, will bring back lots of pics.

Switch to underground mode (subway/water pipe view) and back. If that doesn't work, try switching to fire/water coverage view and back.
