District of Wenzel | Update 116 - (Ouisconsin County) Morgan Town: Rival to the South

Your industrial areas and complexes in my opinion are some of the best looking in any CJ. It is a nice mix of parking, rail, warehousing and filler space. And that street map is awesome! -

I love this CJ. Thanks for including a little bit of Chicago with a nod to Garfield Blvd. Also Axelrod looks good! -

You got a great looking CJ! Well planned out and realistic. Just wondering if you ever have a problem with increased demand for office jobs in you suburban areas and how you deal with it? -
I haven't commented in a long while...but once again...outstanding work!

Great Update! I like the Old Kings Highway area. I now it's been awhile but I hope to see more!

Hello! I am still amazed everytime I read through your journals. Dubuque and your previous ones are always great. Being from the midwest I really enjoy touring them and the realism you captur! I have one quick question if I may? I know you plop all of your residential and after making them into different size lots. Everytime I try to plop a residential building it works for awhile then turns abandoned. How do you overcome that? Especially with such a vast region. Keep up the great work! Eric

I love your regions! Great retail areas and I like how you follow a road or highway. It feels like I'm out for a drive exploring the area!

Pedriana's Plants and her monopoly
sloppy182 replied to Dalewyn's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I had been using the mod for quite sometime and Pedriana never appeared. Recently in my region I have began focusing on the rural areas surrounding the city and Pedriana has started showing up again. I checked my plugins and I noticed that it was missing so I reinstalled it and now Pedriana is still being built. Does anyone know if this mod conflicts with anything else? -
The US's most pathetic highways
sloppy182 replied to Duke87's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
I think my favorite most pathetic highway is Illinois 137 in Waukegan,IL. Officially known as the Amstutz Expressway the 2.9 mile expressway goes virtually nowhere. I found this while out for a drive in Chicago's northern suburbs. Afterwards I looked up some information about it. Apparently it was built to serve the downtown Waukegan area connecting it to the suburb of North Chicago but it was never completed. It has four lanes and has very light traffic using the expressway. Apparently several movies including Batman Begins, The Blues Brothers and Groundhog Day were filmed on this expressway because of its light traffic volume. There are plans to remove it and revitalize Waukegan's downtown lake front. Another favorite in Chicago Area is the Elgin-O'Hare which goes to neither and I-180 near Hennepin,IL which was mentioned earlier by someone else. -
I was wondering if some could make a small 1x1 lot that is never been done on the STEX. I am currently working on a region possibly a CJ down the road. It is set in the midwest. I was wondering if someone could make a tornado siren. It would just be eye candy maybe just on a park lot but would help with the realism of my midwestern type region. Here is one example I found of such a siren... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunderbolt_siren. These sirens are common for early warning around the US and have switched over from air raid sirens, to now alert the public of severe weather and for volunteer fire departments to alert their crews for calls. Thanks in advance.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem that I have with my maxis buildings. All of the props and overlay textures from the maxis buildings have disappeared. All that shows up is the building on plain lot with no driveways, vehicles, all props and parking spaces. Has this ever happened to anyone else and is there anyway to correct this problem? Thanks!

Question about Maxis Buildings
sloppy182 replied to sloppy182's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Thanks for the help! When I went into my settings I had everything maxed out. I dropped everything to default and shut down the game. Then restarted and set everything back the way I had it and restarted the game again and everything was fixed. Thanks. -
Great work! I think that your regions are very realistic. And by far I feel that you have the best looking industrial areas.

I have been trying to find region census. But sawtooths page is no longer there and I could not find it on SCC/simphoni.net. Any help in finding it is much appreciated! Thanks

Could someone make a tornado siren on a 1x1 lot? I have two regions that have a midwestern US feel and tornados are known to ravage the region. It doesn't have to be functional. Just something to make my suburbs and towns a little more realistic! Thanks if anyone can help out!
