All the advice was helpful, Thanks guys. I built a "sandbox city" which was the best way to learn. I found the pieces I needed by flipping further through the list with the tab key. (There's a lot of them) Turns out, a avenue station cost $230 a month versus $30 for an El rail over road so I switched to that. The trick was using the proper corner piece to be able to "drag" El rail away from the road. Thanks again, I'll post future questions to the NAM forum.

What's the file path? (Steam game) -
Thanks for letting me know there were issues with your first video. Using Youtube's CC function is a good suggestion, thanks for that. I think if you truly enjoy producing videos, like to teach, and feel you have something to offer, you should keep at it.

I tried viewing your vids and they look promising but the audio is horrible. At least for someone with a slight hearing loss. Just thought you might like to know.

Super relevant video. Thank you Lucario Now to see if I can make the pieces do the same things. Sometimes it's difficult.

What was your approach to learning SC4?
RobVG replied to RobVG's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I have a "sandbox" city but only use it for experiments so no money worries. -
I find the learning curve steep. I'm an older player who started with (and haven't played since) SC2K. I've asked a few questions in the forum and you guys have been helpful- thank you. I've downloaded and installed the NAM and have gone to youtube for tutorials. Some are helpful but most are really long and the cursor zooms around so much it's often just a blur. It's hard to tell what they are clicking on. And I've found more than one manual on the NAM as well as the Wiki. There's a lot of info to click through. I wish there was a manual in book form so I could flip through the pages and find what I'm looking for (like I said, I'm older). Anyway, I'm getting frustrated trying to learn how the new pieces work. So how did you guys go about learning? Are there NAM video tutorials you would "highly" recommend? What reading material did you find most helpful? What other strategies did you have for learning. Thanks in advance.

... Thanks for the walkthrough. It does say "puzzle pieces". Should I be looking for flex pieces instead?

I've been trying to build overhead light rail over an avenue but haven't used puzzle pieces yet. I found the Rail/Ave puzzle piece and it builds one section per click. I can't add anything to the end except for another Rail/Ave piece. To shorten my question, how am I supposed to add a station or turn the rail in a direction that takes it away from the avenue? Thanks

Thanks for the help. Long story short, I replaced the RHW with light rail.

A Noob trying out the NAM. I had an avenue running the length of city to an outside industrial zone and I wanted to cut the commute time. I split the ave by adding two opposing one-way road segments and then attached RHW. Also added one-way roads to the industry ends of the highway just to be safe. One side of the highway gets about 2000 cars and the other gets "Traffic (None)". I can see cars on that stretch of RHW and it shows green on the data view overlay. What could be going on?

That's frigging awesome. Love how much thought is put into this game.

Thanks. That makes it easy

TLDR; How do I find the "Traffic Simulation Configuration Tool"? I'm not great with computers but I ran the NAM from the plugin folder in the steam game file. It installed and I'm using it. It appears it installed one folder named NAM in my documents but the config tool isn't in there. Where should I look for it? If someone could give me the path for it in your computer- it might help me find it. Thanks in advance.
