January 22, Year 7. Population is 25,631 - down from a Year 5 peak of about 27,500. The balance has shifted from 95%+ R$ to about 80% R$ - still much too high. EQ is about 110 and life expectancy has improved to 64 years. Once the EQ hits 120, I raise dirty and manufacturing industry tax to 20% and zone for high tech industry. Also enclosed is a picture from July 3, Year 4 with several blocks of identical apartments. What's with that specific apartment design and young cities?

February 19, Year 2. Kuzcek has grown to 23,420 people, although the vast majority (about 21,000) are R$. I have a feeling that this population will not be sustained and the city will settle down to something more like 18-20k at equilibrium. EQ is up to about 38 and life expectancy is up to about 56. I extended the dirty industry section (can these people work in any job that doesn't have a smoke stack), built a new water pump, but the biggest news was the September 27 opening of Kuzcek U, placed near the northern commercial district (so shops selling secondhand sorority shirts spring-up)

It is January 26 of Year 1. The population of Kuzcek is now 11,099. The dirty industrial district sprung up almost overnight; the commercial district is still very underdeveloped. An elementary and a high school were opened in August. Education is around 30 EQ and life expectancy is about 55 years. Overall, a typical city in its infancy. The city is still unprofitable - about $4,200 income per month and $5,700 expenses - but income is increasing much faster than expenses and the city will probably be profitable by the end of Year 2.

Welcome to Kuzcek! Named for the town in the movie Borat where the titular character is from, Kuzcek is a great place to raise your kids, retire, start a new life, or just live in! Complete government services include a hospital, a museum, schools (coming soon), full police coverage, 26 community gardens and roads paved with only the finest asphalt. I've developed the city much like I do my other cities, with an avenue grid and roads within, with residential "districts". It's nothing like the city in Borat... yet. Little do Kuzcek's future Sims know, they're part of an experiment. Once the city meets a certain set of criteria and holds it for five years, the government's going to pull the plug, everything except power and water will have its funding set to zero overnight. Before that happens, the city must: -Have an EQ of 180, a life expectancy of 90 years, a university, and an advanced research center. The reason schools are coming soon is that I know that this city will hit the required 4,000 and 6,000 population within in game months for the bigger schools so I just wait.

I've never filled a region completely, I like to make my regions with varied terrain (water, mountains, etc), and I don't like my cities to be totally square like a region but instead to have a more "organic" shape. I've probably filled a region (16x16 "tile units", a tile unit being the size of the small city tile with a midsize city being 2x2 and large 4x4) 60% of the way though, over 2.5 million people. I could probably fit 44 million people in a region if I tried really, really hard and saved at the exact right points but it would be crap.
