Traffic_Jam: Nice to see you again. And thank you! aleking: I like the NAM, too. Thank you for the comment. Rean2: Welcome to the village! And thank you for your nice words. Oh, and here is the link: Cycle Puppy's World . The eastern part of the new rail line First a closer shot of the station. It is really cute, isn't it? And here another picture of the bridge to the west of the station. This time from the other side. And as you can see, the rail line is already in use. This is the first overpass to the east of the station: And this is another bridge: Here we see the rail going through the forest and climbing up the hill: The main line is entering a tunnel here. The train is comming from a side line: And at last an overview of the eastern part of the newly constructed rail line: I hope you like it. Next update comming soon. So - stay tuned.

qurlix: Great job. I cant believe that you already have the NAM pieces! Keep it on please! And to explain why I think that the current textures are perfect, I show two images of typical german freeways (Autobahn): And here another one from Austria: And here are two spanish ones: You can clearly see, that the new textures match pretty much this freeways. But these are european ones. Perhaps it would be possible to do different textures for different needs.- 3,919 Replies

E.J.C: Thank you for your reply. I am glad that you like the elevated rail line. artemis: Thank you, too. Yes you are right, it would be great to have viaducts. But I suppose that would be hard to make. About the bushes: I use jeronij's Plopable Maxis props and Andreas Roth's Mayor Mode Tree Mod . I hope this helps. I will post some pictures soon. So have a look again later.

Hmm... I tried something new in my UK village. It is some kind of a 'half underpass'. And gurrgkud, thank you for the info. -
Oh, oh! Some many of you have left their comments! Thank you very much! Mikeaut1: Great to see you back here. And thank you for this reply. jbridgman: Was is that what you requested? I am glad you like it. 2ch.net simplayer: Thank you for visiting the village. And Swamper77 is right, of course. Swamper77: Welcome to the village! Thank you for clearing this up. I admire the work you transport modders are doing. PhilsCafe: Thank you for visiting again. And for this nice comment, too. Deathtoall: Thank you, too. Gryphonite: I am glad that you like it. Since I am not from the UK I am doing only guesswork here. It is all only my imagination. Good to hear that it is comming close to reality. Peng74: Thank for this reply. pikatchoum: Ah, now I understand. Thank you for answering. And nice to see you again. The completion of the western part of the rail line Do you remember this newly remodeled high tech park? Well, the construction of the railway caused it to be remodeled yet again. This is what it looked like just after the railway was build: And like this it is looking as of now: Now we will see the new tracks, entering the village from the west. The first bridge: The second bridge: The third bridge: And the surroundings of the station: The eastern part of the new local rail line isn't finished yet. Work is in progress. So - stay tuned. Good one?

Real Highway (RHW) - Development and Support

debussyman: I understand that. I hope you will be all right with it, nethertheless. About the lines: At least in europe it is like that, faster driving cars, longer lines. So the highways have really long lines, as I have explained in another post here. I think the ones used in this new textures are quite realistic. This long lines are a major difference between avenues and highways. Because of that I think that it is very important to have them that long. Because we all want to see the difference between those two in the game as well.- 3,919 Replies

debussyman: This texture looks just like a normal european highway/freeway/motorway. 2 lanes are quite common over here, especially in rural settings. I don't know how they look in Mexico, but I think the choosen texture is perfect. And the purpose of this whole project is to provide us with another, more rural highway. We allready have a 3 lane, concrete one in the game. Don't you agree? What exactly would be the difference between the one you suggested and the in-game one? Esto no es una ofensa, solo quer- 3,919 Replies

gurrgkud: Thank you for this comment. It is always a great pleasure to see you here. I hope you will like this one as well. Construction of the rail line The planning state is over. The local council agreed over a trace for the new rail that is going to pass the ground of the village. Unfortunately some houses have to be bulldozed, some people are very angry. But it is believed by the majority that the best compromise has been found. And construction allready has begun. Some trees had to be cut as well: This bridge is nearly finished: Another bridge that has to be build: And the one at the other side of the village is half finished, too: This is the main construction site where the station will be build: And here you can see how the whole town is full of ongoing work: The former restfull peace is gone. But hopefully soon the rail line will be completed. And many citizens are waiting eagerly for the first train to arrive at the local station. But that will be part of the next update. So - stay tuned. What do you think?

nooneatall: This is getting better and better. It is almost perfect by now. The colour is perfect, the lines are perfect now, too. But I agree with kujoe that those rumblepads do look a little bit odd. They are too eye catching, if you know what I mean. Perhaps you could make them less noticeable, tone the colour down, or something like that. Keep it on please. It is almost done!- 3,919 Replies

pikatchoum: Thank you very much for opening this page. And thank you for your nice words, too! But, ahem... What do you mean by 'error'? And I do not understand the word 'cabal'. What is that? Anyway. Thank you for your post. Merci beaucoup! There will be some new pictures soon.

nooneatall: This is looking much better! It is great! I like the colour. I think it is perfect by now. And the lines: Much better, too. I like them to be that long. But now the open spaces between them look too short. Hmm... Perhaps you could make those lines just a little bit shorter and show us how it lookes like? So that we could compare them? I love your work! This is going to be the best looking traffic network in the whole game!- 3,919 Replies

Real Highway (RHW) - Development and Support
barnatom replied to qurlix's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
nooneatall: This is really good looking! But I seccond the idea to make it a little bit brighter. And the stipes have different lenghs. And I would suggest to make them longer as well. At least here in Germany those stripes are much longer than a car, so that they don't seem to short, even viewed by the low angle of the drivers view point and the high speed he is moving at. (If I remember correctly, the combination of one stripe plus the hole between it and the next one is 50 meters long.) Great work. And I hope that it will be possible to build realistic entry and exit lanes, too.- 3,919 Replies

DuskTrooper: I am so glad that I never had such problems. gurrgkud: Thank you. I added the part about the tab key. And you have a good looking interchange there. May I ask how to get the exits that end in a single road only? I have seen them before, but I never found them in my menus. Perhaps I should go and look again. It always bothered me to get those 'little stubs' of roads on both sides of the exit. -
Jerebannus XVI: Thank you. I knew it was latin. And I suspected the NOMEN EST part. But I didn't know about EIUS. Thank you. Edit: And gurrgkud, I forgot to ask:
-
SimCityMafia4: You should find the new 'road' here: Euro road texture mod And the 'circle' is part of the new NAM (Network Addon Mod). If you don't have that, download it under essentials in the modding section.

Great title. What does JOANNES EST NOMEN EIUS mean?

Cjah: These pictures are great! But the railway that goes through the tunnel is supposed to be a high speed one, isn't it? Then you shouldn't cross it on level with a road. You will never see something in real world. It isn't allowed due to security concerns. DuskTrooper: I put together some images explaining how to build this intersection. A little tutorial on the use of the NAM puzzle pieces This is the basic layout of the intersection we are going to build: We start by raising the terrain and put an 'avenue on slope' piece: Then we lay down an 'avenue over avenue' and an 'avenue over road' piece: Now we fill the space in between with 'avenue over open ground' pieces. But leave a gap right in the middle: In this gap we put an 'avenue x road intersection' piece: Now we select the one-way-puzzle-pieces-sub-menu and build four one-way on-ramps. But make sure the arrows that appear while laying them down point in the right direction: Then we put the 'road/one-way t-intersection' pieces in their place. (This pieces can also be found in the one-way submenu.) And connect the on-ramps with the avenue and the road using the normal one-way tool: There we are! The intersection is ready. Side note: I noticed that the euro version of the 'road/one-way t-intersection' puzzle piece is quite ugly. The normal version does look better but a little bit strange, too. I hope this helps. Edit: As suggested by gurrgkud I add the following: You get the various puzzle pieces by selecting the corresponding menu and then pressing tab to cycle through all available pieces. To change the orientation press the 'home' and 'end' keys. I hope this helps, too. -

Thank you gurrgkud! I have seen these pics in your journal already and they are great. Very good use of this japanese Hiroshima station lots. I like them, too. But never had a city there they would fit in. Edit: DuskTrooper: Another time I have to edit my post for you. Lol. Ok, I will have a look at this city and post some illustrating pics later. -
First I want to thank everyone who has worked on this project so far. And I hope that it will continue. Unfortunately I have no idea of modding, making textures or anything helpful. I am sorry. I have a question. In the picture above, there are tunnel entrances. Around them there are some jagged black lines. I have never seen them before using the euro texture mod. Are those lines associated with this mod? And if so, is there hope to get rid of them? Thank you!

Hello dear visitors Thank you for viewing and replying! Traffic_Jam: Thank you. ketadream: I hope you will enjoy it this time, too. jbridgman: No, there is no rail line (yet). But read this update! And thank you for this nice comment. jacqulina: Great to see you back here! Yes, I know. Terraforming is hard to learn. But you are doing it so well already. I am glad that you like the mosaics. artemis: Thank you for your nice words. I am using jeronij's new version of the dirty street mod. It is working perfectly, and diagonal streets work as well. Have look at the Stex searching for 'dirt' and you will find it. PhilsCafe: I am glad that you like the details. Glad that you have found this CJ, too. Deathtoall: Yes, gascooker's BATs are great, aren't they? As I have said in my first post, this village came to live as a test with his buildings. GingerBlokey: Thank you for repying. See this update for your ideas. mteach2000: Thank you for this great post! I am sorry, since I am playing on a Mac the BAT nightlighting does not work. So night shots look rather dull. I am more relaxed now getting no replies sometimes. I was only wondering what was happening for the first time that occured. New developement in the village This high tech area has got some redevelopement. Before: And after: And at the same time a new sport park has opened its ground nearby. Here an overview of the area: And other news: Due to popular request, construction of a local rail line connecting two nearby cities has been approved. It will pass the grounds of our village and will get a station there, too. A commision has been set to work on the plans for the track. This is complicated work, since there are no undeveloped areas there the rail could go. Some parts of the village will have to be demolished. Of course, no one wants his house to get distructed. A discussion has started about it. But nothing is decided yet. So, stay tuned if you want to see how this will go along. Comments are welcome, as always.

debussyman This is outstanding! I love your central plaza and all those little mexican houses. Incredible that you are rebuilding your own town so detailed, that you even put the correct houses in place. And it does look so beautiful. Makes me want to start a new village, a mexican one. Would be a competition to my UK village. Es increible lo que has hecho.
