SC4 Deluxe ed - help with big cities
Barker replied to 0rion79's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
ShortStraw: https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/view.asp?mode=viewtopic&topicID=48119 Im not sure if you saw this thread yet, but it covers the opera house bug. Here is the link for the mod, also on the modds and download page of this site: https://www.simtropolis.com/modding/index.cfm?p=details&id=339 I second ShortStraw's comment, GREAT THREAD, very informative, and refreshing to see very valid ideas/strategies/points from multiple angles, can we say STICKY?? I've been away from the game for a few months (bought a house, ugh), but this makes me wanna dive right in again, THANX!!! My wife will hate me again....oh well, cant live w/o sc4...lol And do lawns really need mowing? -
I've actually built full regions with 0 industry. I start 1 neighboring city with manufacturing, just to get the jobs growing, then slowly remove industry and add commercial jobs, if the sims are all educated enough, they move to the commercial jobs, making industry unnecessary. A region I have now has 0% indu and 100% CO ($$ and $$$) and is growing slow, but growing. Once new residents come in, it takes much longer to raise education than if you have industry. To speed things up, sometimes I just add a city tile of IM, and destroy later when education is maxed. Using this strategy, I find I don't need any other industry than manufacturing for a short period of time. These regions I built with industry are experimental, and extremely boring to build because the growth is very slow, but you can remove Industry, and it will work, and your city will continue to thrive.

Found this site looking for something unrelated, pretty sad state that some of our cities are in... ghettoamerica.blogspot.com Next time I'm near the ghetto (I think Bedford-Stuyvesant is the closest to me) I'll drive through and snap some pics to post here. Anyone else have any pics of their home town eye-sores? -Barker

The original SimCity, I loved it, how about you? I was 12 yrs old, it made me conscience of a lot of things. At that age you are really not taught about how the world works, and I know supply and demand might be something boring for a 12 year old, but I feel it taught me of a lot even though I had to install is on my moms packard bell computer. Things have changed a lot since 1989, there are a lot of games available, and my wife and I are expecting, so I wish the same kind of game for our daughter to grow up with (after the teething of course, lol). Just wanted to know what kind of influence Maxis and Will Wright has had on your gaming life through the years.

Make SC4, all the same aspects, but better; in the sense of improving the game, many aspects have already been discussed...no need for a new thread, we did this already, tired.... Why will anyone listen this time if they didn't on all the other threads>not just st, but many, many other sc4 sites, sorry, I'm getting pessimistic about money hungry gaming corporations.... my too scents -

Is there any way to reverse this affect? I tried the -w, which worked, but I did not like it. I took the -w out of the shortcut, and it still opens in windowed mode. It also opens like this through the original exe. I tried restarting my system to no avail. Anyone else have this problem, or a solution? Thanks. EDIT: Disregard this, -f works for full screen (when I tried this after finding another thread earlier it didn't work for some reason).
