Kcidmil:Gridded cities will solve the simulation and I agree that is too easy. Try building more for realism, with a storyline in place and attempt to make your city follow the story. Example: Sci-fi based city about space travel. Look in the City Journals forum and you will begin to see what I mean. there are some truly enjoyable stories being told in the CJ's!

Art is expression after all. Expression of a personal nature, applies as well. If a person designs their dream Home, to be an expression of them or their wealth; It has become a form of Art. If my dream home is, straight lines, single pane windows and less decorative trim; It also has become, a work of Art. Yes, I did say that, But I agree Kwakelaar; I wouldn't want 20 or so of my nearest neighbors, having exactly the same design as mine. Even in differing colors. That is not architecture to me either. Kwaelaar: I read your current post twice; I am sure that I mostly agree with it. Although the restored Victorian residences, in my area look okay; they are inefficient, to say the least and murder on heating/cooling costs. Not my cup of tea. Art is expression after all. Over all; I would have to agree with BlackBeard. Ignore what doesn't fit to your design and concept. City Building is actually, an all new, and unique art medium. This fact is due directly to Simtrop simmunity and it's artistic members. Yes! we are artists and the game is our canvas. CJ's are our gallery and allow us to post our creations in art form.

Woah! I get that mayor rating plunge. Have always ignored it, because once you build what sims demand in the ticker; it reverses. The rating climbs again. Didn't know that was a bug. I thought it was the game telling me, something needed building soon. My rating plunges if schools are not up to snuff, or I build dirty industry too close to residence, etc. Itespecially plunges if I haven't enough trees/parks around.

Edited by author: I decided all these pictures are not very beneficial and just a plain, waste of space. so I deleted a couple. All tutorials do work. Just use the Omnibus table of contents, in the left side bar. You will find all the knowledge you need there, to get a comfortable start in the BAT. I know it is not My business to know who you mean, Ash. Man! I feel for the teams. I want to learn the BAT, but tut links do not work properly and no one really answers my ignorant questions. The sad part is; I understood the functions in BAT/Gmax, at first execute. I had no problem building a model and getting the different views rendering. Just cannot get an answer as to why, it slows down and eventually stops functioning. I fake the bump maps by making them in Bryce and then importing my new texture to the BAT. Fake ray trace? I make it a real one with Bryce. No need for PhotoShop gradients, but can still use it for enhancement. I can work and re-work a texture into anything, by importing and exporting it back and forth, several times. images below may make it a bit more clear. I normally host images, but thought the visual would inspire someone to aid me? I know I am asking too much, but please someone show me the step by step, or point me to exactly the right links. Since my MACs are not powerful enough to run SC4; I can only say on my PC. I had to set all graphics to highest setting to see the little details, such as, swings, gazebos, etc. even on mediumset, I could only see green squares also.

phew! You are making a move. I am glad that my moving daze are over(I hope anyways). The house I have now, was condemned and I got it for 10,000 U.S. rebuilt it to 95,000 value. It took almost 2 years to finish. 3car garage is still empty, so the bands have a place for practice sessions. R&R4ever! I have before and after images, all over the net, if ever you want to see it. Hmmm, I never have played a thing on-line, not even cards. But the idea and concept are interesting enough, I may give it a go. So I vote yeah, I would play it.

I agree with that Samflash. Pmiller and BarbW; top notch farm developers. They look great in-game! What I need is a bee keepers farm (BAT Alert) for my latest city. just some plain white boxes stacked in rows, etc. added to small corner of a soybean farm or the like. Honey Hills Ranch sounds nice.
