Jacqulina is right; you are very consistant with updates and a short wait, deserves some patience from your dedicated fans. And with me thinking of going back to school. Whatever, am I thinking about? The homework would kill My SC time and ST time! Aaah, My favorite number; lucky 13!
  2. Grid secrets: a tutorial CJ

I know I keep saying I will post a large update. I just take on too many things at once, as usual so here goes a shorty to keep my CJ active. Keiran Halcyon: You are right; the best way would be to, create the inverted piece. Does the LOT Editor allow inverting or mirroring objects? Sproxxx: THis is short update is probably not what you expected, but it's personal non the less. I hope you like The Gate. Bones1: Wow, very interesting to know! I never thought about their trip home! Hmmm, Now I see, they could be useful space savers after all, 2000 vs 2500 I will try some one-ways again and see if I can find the secrets to those. Their has to be a key to them, a special function,... I have faith in the developers, at least to that degree. Thanks for the numbers Bones! Very VERY helpful for a lazy old fart like me. Tungston: I think I should take your advice; Break down and DL the Bridge MOD. I am getting tired of those, crazy, dirt ramps. Funny that you can stretch the highways out straight and not other forms of pavement. Thank you, Tungston. Voar Tok: You could be correct, but I am not quite finished with using One-ways. I might give them another chance. Of course looking back at all the SC versions; simplicity was the key to efficiency. MoneyMan2010n: Glad you liked it so much and welcome to ST and my experimental CJ! Keep coming by for a visit. We all at ST, love to meet new sitizens! Soldyne: Yes, I love your experiment Soldyne! That reminds me; I must check in on that again today, eh. Welcome back friend! Pheonix: Well no, that won't work. I am trying to actually invert the piece. I think Keiron has the only solution, or maybe the Author of this BAT could update it, or may have already. I will check on that. Thanks for dropping in Pheonix! Exhagaga: Thank you for the kind words and the dose of, enthusiastic encouragemnent! There are many ways to grid a city or not to grid, for that matter. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//3laygrin1.jpg align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Sprogat341.jpg align=baseline>
  3. simpeg-forum-threads Becca up to BAT

Great Thread title, Becca! Can I call you Becca? Anyways, I cannot resist catchy word play and it is worth it! Your already quite skilled at BATting and your first is not only a first, but very accurate! Homerun, your first time up!
  4. SC4 Startup Manager - manage your plugins!

JeanLucPicard2: Well, you went and did it now; Made my day and my game perform much more smoothly. Thank you JLP, for an amazing and efficient utility! Now I can do away with PLUG-ins2/3/4 and InOutPlugs folders and the hassle of, carefully re-naming them to Plug-Ins constantly.
  5. Burj Khalifa

AndisArt: All I can say is; this is one heck of a nice model! I am only just learning the BAT, playing with mesh editing right now, as I am thouroughly bored with the generic objects in gmax. How in the heck do you stretch an editable mesh, in just Z, but not X and Y? Wish I could afford MAX, but Bryce was much cheaper, so I ended up with it.
  6. Official BAT Request Thread

I see so many wonderful ideas, in this thread! Valiko87: BATters would be taking on a tremendous challenge with that request. Gargoyles, ornate stone carving, etc. High polygons for one and having to model a slew of new objects. It is hard to make a simple house, for me anyways. Same with your Cathedral Kiknos; you are asking for a Huge amount of objects to build the model with. And look at the Ornate carvings, Lions and multilayered archways! A massive challenge for any BATter! I have seen some great ones though,... so maybe.... BATters do look in here for inspiration and I am sure a few, would love to try all of these ideas. No matter how complicated. Holidays bring on RL issues and fall/winter season takes many of our BATters off to school for studies. Be sure and type your request in the STEX search window first, to see if it has already been created at some point. If nothing comes up, then make your requests here. Remember: Roads, streets, aves, etc, require modding the game files and traffic data. Which is more than a simple BAT request. Radio Towers: I believe Jeronij already made a set of those( don't quote me) Try typing that in the STEX search window, or similarly defined titles, such as, Antenna, TV tower, etc.
  7. Get Well Soon MsD

Hello MsD, Before I offend anyone; I will warn you Deb, this is just my way and I mean no offense. I will pray for you to get better. May God heal you 100%, In Jesus' name. Keep On Keepin' On, Frndo.
  8. Green Depra

Hello Choco, I have been playing catch-up. Trying to pick up where I left off last. How ever did you make the sims come out for a parade?? I am astonished, surprised and curious, all in one! Now all you need, is a large, floating SpongeBob Balloon and all will be complete. Really professional looking newpaper, you have here also! Keep On Keepin' On, Frndo.
  9. Introduce Yourself Here!

Hey there, Skakid. Welcome to Simtropolis. Cripes! No music scene?! I just visit my garage every so often. I rent it out to local bands, 3 times a week. There is usually something, kicking about in the garoj. Ska is okay, i make it a point to check out the latest releases, etc. My favorite music genres would have to be, BluesRock and Metal.
  10. TEXTURES: Official Thread

Wimmern, Bixel! Diese sind ausgezeichnet! Wow, Bix! These are excellent! Especially, Michaels webpage, from germany. Try sending them here instead for the Mayang textures. Thats the homepage and explains the rules for free downloading, etc. Definite must get textures at Mayangs! Your a real texture hound! Thanks again Bix! BrTim2: Please check Bixels links above. You may find more than you will ever need!
  11. newb with a demand question

Lord Kenneth: yes, you can have a residential city surrounded by industrial cities and or commercial ones. My way is; put industry around a large city tile and make the large central city res and comm both. You will find that there are dozens of ways to arrange zones. Heck, hundreds of ways even. Look at a few City Journals first and see what other ST members do. also check out the tutorials in the Omnibus Table Of Contents, to the left. You may find that getting involved with the forums and CJ's, actually helps tremendously.
  12. Simtropolis Has Been Hacked!?

I wasn't having any problems in the forums and then suddenly page load timed out. I could get to the home page though. I thought, maybe it was just holiday maintainence and logged off for a bit. EDIT: I should also mention, it gave me a set of 4 strange cookies, simply titled ST/ in capital letters. Trust me, I know what files and cookies are in my TI file, right this minute and every hour before the occurance. Unless that was a new set from here. I have been to no other websites today, except MSN and here.
  13. newb with a demand question

Mass Transit: subways, trains, EL's Lord Kenneth: Your city is only at 10,000. this means you must build OUT not up. The game will not allow you to build high rises or wealthier people, without certain conditions being met. Flower gardens are very well liked by wealthier sims and they dislike bus stops very close to them. To get highest wealth sims; build industry in another neighboring city. Stay away from all dirty industry near the wealthy folks. EDIT: you really shouldn't be worrying about wealth yet, instead keep building outward, in such a way as to continue making a profit. Things get triggered,in-game, right about 20,000, then at about 50,000. Second EDIT: You haven't gotten to stadium level yet, Wealthy sims like their sporting events, just as the richest romans, loved their Coloseums.
  14. Official BAT Request Thread

I agree, Micah. If any BATters are popping in here for a looksie; I have a very large request. PLEASE, help us finish up the Simmars Beta2 version? We need Modders mostly and BATters secondly, but heck, it is close to finished. All we really want is a great big hand in, cranking up the final release. Any takers? Octopus7? Maetoch? Rimac? Boris? Where have you all gone? Why have you all gone?
  15. MallowTheClouds Official Map Making Guide

Mystyx: I haven't found a good setting for jpg.'s, in PS. I ended up sticking with bmp.'s. Unfortunatly SC, seems to rag the edges of every mapp, I have ever made. Straight lines seem to be, impossible with PS/8bit GS bmp's. I really wish I could help out more than this, Mystyx. Sorry.
  16. Give a Nickname game

who can come up with an alias for Olly? Okay: O
  17. Soldyne: accidents happen sometimes. Glad you got things back on track. I will be looking for that update, friend.
  18. New Winter Banner

I love anything with shades of blue in it. The old banner was kewl and the new one is just plain, Cool. I thought of starting this same topic, but alas, phone number person beat me to it.
  19. The 2005 Trixies are being counted

Aah well. Okay then Screwball. I will wait patiently. At the very least, I am not a $%&^!, but not a veteran either. So what am I? hmmm. Noobie = green as in greenhorn Lurker = yellow as in scared to speak me = blue as in......? veteran = red as in sacrificed too much RL EDIT: active duty, maybe?
  20. newb with a demand question

Hmmm, I see some medium density zones developed, but of lowest wealth. What the sitizens in your town are saying is this: We love you mayor! But we are also poor people who do this loving. Avenues bring more traffic capacity, which in turn brings bigger buildings, but not necessarily wealthy buildings. Your advisors like your mayorial accomplishments, but from a small town, low wealth stand point. I see Gridding?! Grids require a larger capacity of MT. Avenues and busing are best for a gridded design. Grids, in early stages, cause those conflicting messages, you are having. I know grids. Probably better than anybody at ST. Check my tutorial CJ for massive amounts of information on gridding plans, HERE.
  21. are you a star wars fan?

N_O_Body: Yep! Errol Flynn, is still unmatched, in my book. I grew up with my grandmother(now 87 yrs old), watching old movies late at night and eating ice cream. Oh what memories! Still My favorites: James Cagney, Errol Flynn, Jimmy Stewart. I loved the gangster and swashbuckler movies, most of all. Nothing will replace the original, Cheaper by the Dozen movie. As for StarWars: I read the book, Splinter Of the Minds Eye. I saw the first SW movie, when it came to public Television, several years later.
  22. Show us your Accomplishment!!

Okay, I will show off a teaser. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//topprt18.jpg align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//bottprt18.jpg align=baseline> Green Griddle contains the majority of my populace, at 1,119,000 sitizens! My tutorial CJ is HERE
  23. newb with a demand question

Hello and welcome to Simtropolis, LordKenneth! What we will need is, a more precise description. One city image, usually opens our eyes, to what is going on in your city. Many different things can effect the growth. When I say many; I mean, many and in differing combinations.
  24. The 2005 Trixies are being counted

Well Videoman, I have an idea how you may fit in there; Cable goes just about anyplace. This is my first Trixie Event. After this ceremony, I will consider myself veteran status. Six month membership, a Trixies and an avid participant, should constitute enough status, IMO.
  25. Introduce Yourself Here!

Alynnyes: Glad to see a familiar comment. My wife is from Michigan City, Indiana. My Father in-law has lived in or about, Canada, Michigan and Indiana, so I know your area a bit. Anyways, Glad to see a veteran member, making some comments, Alynnyes. Welcome to Un-lurking your AKA!
