  1. Elevated Rail is technically meaningless

I use heavy rail exclusively for all my cities. Found that light rail is too hard to manage, too difficult to build stations for and difficult to integrate with streets/roads/highways. Im just not good at using light rail, so i build my cities out of subways, heavy rail, monorail and a few high speed rail stations. as for elevated rail i found it less flexible than monorail, harder to build around, and difficult to make intersections with streets/corners etc.
  2. I dont use hacks or plops just NAM and bug fix mods, current large tile city is 1.45m with about 40% of the space remaining. its mixed residential and commerical, could go all residential or all commerical but that would take hours of replanning the region.
  3. maybe you can help, my high speed elevated rails keep disconnecting between cities
  4. This thread is old i know, but the city has gone upto 1.5m residents (+350,000) thanks to the Private Schools fix, not sure about the Opera House fix. Commute time is through the roof at 90 minutes, so the commute time problem has gotten worse since last time. I believe the problem like other said is lack of jobs for R$$ and R$ residents, so i added jobs to neighboring cities however the "commute time is still an issue" i know it really doesnt matter what that says but it makes it seem like im not addressing the issue correctly. abandonment has gone way down to about 1/4th of what it used to be. the issue im having right now is weather to create outside residential cities or try and bottle up most residents in this city and leave it as a lone commercial center? the problem i run into with that is that it would require moving around many cities to make room for a central commercial city or should i try exporting residents to nearby cities? my goal is consolidation with cities each having different purposes as the city to the east of it is nothing but high tech jobs. IHT$$$ the city to the south is mostly IM$$ ID$, CS$$, and R$$ city to the west is IM$$ AND CS$ CS$$ my main city is mostly R$$, R$$$ CO$$ CO$$$ The highest 'demand' region-wide is CS$ and R$.where do i grow those zones?
  5. Maximillian is nothing but 4x4 blocks surrounded on all sides by opposing one way streets, designed to be a huge city....what could go wrong?? i added 3 cloverleafs highways straight down the middle. those came down about 50 years in. i built monorails on each side of the highways along with rails so my city looked like a bookcase with six huge rectangular slots after the highways came down the monorails stayed, so there are 3 big diamond shaped forms where the cloverleafs used to be outside the diamond forms came huge skyscrapers i never planned for like van proojien and cahalane. a pedriana pharmaceutials once stood between the north slots, now all that remains is a downgraded copy that employs 14,000 C$$ on the east side of town the dozens of roadside trains stations are gone, and the whole lower city went wild packing in residential zones the 3rd cloverleaf footprint is now the end of a ground level highway roundabout with Hogan Wallace and White on one side and Chong Inc on the other. some of the old 4x4 block slots still remain with 100 year old office buildings alongside the new traffic buildings along with random civic plots like my 2nd opera house that i had to demolish, a dusty courthouse, and some wary monorail stations made a couple videos to showcase Sahara and Maximillian 4. San Angeles 220k 107 commercial 68k industry 3. Sahara 2013 400k gone 2. Viren 2011 550k 313commercial 66k industry 1. Maximillian 1.15m 474k Commercial Jobs 15k high tech jobs / 200k neighboring high tech 133 years in.
  6. Medium Density is not appearing

not sure what size large tile is but if its the biggest tile size or even the second biggest tile size 21k population isnt nearly enough to see higher density.
  7. Railroad - Power Line Crossing at Map Edge

i dont know, probably not. you can find out by testing, a power line probably wont drag across rail if theres nothing on the other side. you may have to start the connection from the other city then run rail line underneath it. doesnt seem worth all that hassle for just a power line.
  8. Medium Density is not appearing

have you rezoned the areas as medium density?
  9. applied both dat fixes for opera house and i-ht, not sure if those helped or the fact that the high speed rail line into high tech tile was severed somehow so commute time decreased 15% income is still low, 25k still getting high demand for r$$$ r$$ but the job losses seemed to have stopped for now. going to try zoning more manufacturing jobs in a different tile because my high wealth commercial office demand has stalled.
  10. commute time keeps moving up and up while nothing seems to work to fix it. do i need to rework the region in some way? commute time has increased twenty minutes over the past ten years from fifty one to seventy+ minutes. im starting to get abandonment again on the south side of town
  11. NAM General Support

im having an issue that just cropped up. NAM seemed to be working fine for 13ish years into the game. then something happened, not sure what, but now the avenue scemes keep rotating between 3 different 'styles'. when i turn 'night' mode on, you can see the street lights flashing on and off up and down the entire avenues. some of the avenues have light rail installed. ive been having issues with the light rail/avenue stations. right now they are 'invisible' and show they are being utlized, however i dont see any light rail trains on the streets even when i used a downloadable station that was visible.
