  1. EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE REQUIRED

This is really, really bad advice .. especially since you didnt go into details, you could wreck the guys installation. That's all I've got to say to you, MC19. Muttonnoir, Wrecking your installation isn't such a big deal .. you'd just have to reinstall it from the origin client. Assuming you didn't do that: every file in "SimCityData" that begins "SimCity..." or "version..." or is a directory should be official. Everything else is a mod. under "SimCityUserData\Packages" there may be two files that begin "SimCity..." and anything else is likely from a mod. If they aren't there, don't worry (I think the main install directory for them is different, and they are just copied there for some mods, but I'm not positive that is always the case).
  2. Building requests - Discussion

some various improvement ideas: these are in addition to how the buildings already act for tourism and land value modify the Empire State Building, Willis Tower to act as a high density medium wealth commercial. modify Kolner Dom, St. Basil's Cathedral to act as a church for the religion dynamic modify Rundertårn to act like the library for education, and the Zamek Królewski w Warszawie to work like the Museum extension (which I think is just a library on steriods) modify the Stockholm City Hall to act as a complete city hall (with the extension wings ploppable attaching to the street) - so you can demo your original city hall and just keep the landmark
  3. req: Guide for how to make a landmark.

the thing is, I'm not a student, and they actually require you to be a student to use that. But if I could, I'd give it a try
  4. req: Guide for how to make a landmark.

hmm, how hard would it be to modify that for use in a free tool, like Blender?
  5. We need this. I imagine it would be 5 parts: 1. Build the model in Blender/etc and export 2. Build the basic attributes key in a package, handling model import, bounding, etc. 3. How to add it to the menu 4. How to configure lights 5. Costs/stats/services or effects
  6. I have a city with very little traffic .. additionally, I have as many streetcars as I have stops, so my light rail network looks pretty crowded. the trams are moving ridiculously slowly, despite the lack of traffic. I have a city of 12,000 sims (w/ real pop mod), and already my trams are bogged down .. if there was traffic, I would know what to do. but without any reason like this, Im confused. how can I diagnose this issue?
  7. this is just a sketch of an idea for a mod to build a university school of ecology. Id appreciate comments, especially about how to accomplish parts of this. steps: find a nice school of ecology model or building to model (I like glass buildings with lots of green in them, personally) do not modify number of schools the university can house. we'll have to forego 2 now steal the clean coal and oil power generator projects for the new school. modify solar and wind batteries to require the new school. enable them in the game menu. the school reduces pollution from at least industry (would be nice to add processor/electronics too) unlocks new parks: §§ water park (snaps to water, based on Zhangjiagang River reconstruction ) §§ landfill conversion (like Mount Trashmore, Virginia Beach, USA) accessible through garbage modify menu. plops only on heaps, replacing them. Ideally, remains after garbage dump is demo'd (like roads .. but can be demo'd separately).
  8. the freight train uses only a single entry: "Freight Train" 0x00b1b104-0x40e1c600-0x2111280f - so any change will only swap out the passenger compartments for a custom freight model. There is apparently room for up to 4 different cars (vehicle models), but they only use one. It could be that there are 4 different views for different viewing environments .. not sure. Got a model of a freight train handy?
  9. Merge two conflicting mods

    that does it thank you
  10. pipe overlay for freight?

heh yeah that just about does it .. I just cant see which commerce buildings are lacking freight. Im used to using the combination: per building data and the details tab .. but I guess I can still see which industry have freight piled up.
  11. I often find FREIGHT is the hardest thing for me to manage. I can figure out labor issues with the details tab and the but there's no equivalent section for commerce's demands on freight. But I thought I heard you can pipe overlay anything like freight, crime, etc .. so - is there already a freight pipe overlay mod (like for the commerce data layer)? or ... can anyone give me a hand rigging up a pipe overlay?
  12. looking forward to the rest - but a wikia page would be more suited to this sort of thing
  13. Merge two conflicting mods

hey thanks the rail bridge mod says "Improved Railroad and Streetcar tracks". I want the railroad bridge from it, but the streetcar bridge from the tram mod. I need to merge them together and resolve conflicts .. I am hopeful that the way the mods work is different enough that merging them together will fix the issue. Here's what I hope is happening: 1. simcity starts 2. oppie's bridge tram mod loads and modifies streetcar bridges 3. takouma's mod loads and modifies rails, rail bridges and streetcar bridges (overriding oppie's mod by load order)
  14. [UPDATED] (Offline Only) Plop Modules Farther Away Mod

How involved is it to do this? I'd like to change city hall modules so they can be stand alone .. at least (at first) the finance department.   do I only need to change ecoUnitSnapstoUnitSide to ecoUnitSnapstoFrontage or do I need to add more? (the entries in these pak files are basically illegible just using SimCityPAK and locale data - do you use a better tool?)
  15. How do I merge two mods? I love the Takouma (the Shinkansen version), but for trams I prefer Oppie's Unfortunately, Oppie's mod doesn't show up if you use both. So, I think that I need to merge the two.
