As i know there has been a petition but whether EA will listen to the "offline mode" petition is anyones guess :/

I have just purchased Simcity today in the UK and like everyone else i was really excited to get home and install it to unleash disaster after disaster on animated people. But i am extremely disappointed with how Simcity has turned out and with the always-online rule i feel i've been robbed of my money. After 1 and a half hours of waiting to get into a server I found myself unable to create a region. And its not that i don't want to play with complete strangers :/ but i would have liked to just sit back and create my city in my own time with nobody watching me constantly and feeling rushed to build before the EA servers go down for the millionth time. So my question is can EA just patch an offline mode into the game or will everyone have to live with being always-online? And hope that when the next simcity comes out in another 10-15 years EA learns from this awful mistake and puts and offline mode in.
