  1. I've been seeing a lot of problems related to traffic. Some are related to bridges. I'm using NAM 31. In one town I had a road bridge used at max capacity. I destroy it and put an avenue bridge. Now, only 3 cars use it. Some businesses, especially those on the "island" don't have any workers. They indicate jobs, e.g. 31/37, but no commuters; the route query tool doesn't see anything. I have also seen some weird stuff with for example my big WTC complex. When it was built, it got an auto 15k/15k jobs. Went down to 0 and is now abandoned. But the route query tool shows commuters and paths (e.g. 5k subway, etc.) And those don't change even years after abandonment. Maybe this is related to the fact that my computer is rather slow.
  2. Stagnation, no clue what to do!

Thanks for your response. I understand how this works, but from my perspective, Simcity 4 is still in the dark ages of modding. I finally managed to get the BSC stuff. I had to register to two different websites (simtropolis and SC4devotion) to get all of the most popular content. Ideally, to make the modded game popular with new players, it would be better to have a single download installer, not behind a registration wall and providing the most functionality. For example, providing the fixes + NAM + popular BAT + popular dependencies. This might require some playtesting to make sure that everything works together and that would not be a bad thing too. This way players wouldn't have to slowly build and test their collection. It would be ready in a few clicks. Of course, this would require cooperation between modders and a big debugging effort. I'm not going to do it, and maybe there isn't much interest. It seems that the SC4 community is quite insular, with everyone protecting their content and trying to drive traffic to their website.
  3. Any news regarding providing the source?

Forget about getting the source. ID software is the only company that does this, as far as I know. I don't think EA has ever done this.
  4. Stagnation, no clue what to do!

Thanks. It would be amazing to have one package that combines all of the common packages. For newbies like me, it's a bit daunting to have to find out about all of these separate things and install them one by one. Why not integrate it as an optional part of the NAM install?
  5. Circular cities in SimCity 4

I was kind of hoping for a pic replicating the 2013 city shown in the first screenshot. Still neat.
  6. Stagnation, no clue what to do!

Is the Opera Fix included in NAM?
  7. Anyone here who DOESN'T use custom content?

Thanks for the links MandelSoft. Where can I find the download links at the SC4 devotion website? I can't see any download links. Edit: OK, I figured I just had to register on the SC4 devotion website.
  8. SC4 mac port?

There doesn't seem to be a tutorial for installing SC4 under Wine. Here's a quick one: Installing Wine 1) Install Macports (http://www.macports.org/install.php) 2) Install XQuartz (for Mountain Lion and beyond) (http://xquartz.macosforge.org/landing/) 3) Install wine by typing "sudo port install wine" or "sudo port install wine-devel" (more recent version) into a terminal Installing Simcity 4 (from http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=10515) 4) Insert Simcity 4 deluxe CD 5) Copy the contents of CD1 into a folder on your harddrive 6) Insert CD2 7) Open terminal and navigate to the folder you created. "ls" will list folders, "cd" will change directories, TAB will autocomplete Run "wine setup.exe" and wait for the game to install 9) Download NAM 31 at Simtropolis 10) Navigate to NAM and run "wine NetworkAddonMod_Setup.exe" to install NAM 11) Navigate to ".wine/drive_c/Program Files/ Maxis/Simcity 4 Deluxe/Apps" and run "wine simcity 4.exe" Note: by default the .wine folder is invisible in Finder
