Any way of turning off disasters?
ReverendBeel replied to TPMP's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I hear you, friend; For the first week, or so, the disasters seemed pretty innocuous (1-2 buildings destroyed per event, maximum). Lately, however, it seems that EA has cranked the dial to 11. My last city was hit by 'Oddzilla', 4 times, in quick succession. Each time destroying ~40 buildings, and plops, just as I was gathering Steam. Lost my university, and hospital both, last attack. -
DLC you would want to see for this game.

Don't get me started on 'Oddzilla'; She hit my last city 4 times, in quick succession, just as it was gathering steam. -
For those of you who speak french...

Plop: EA HQ......Oh, hang on, I see they already have that tower. Sp Corr: Vu It's hard to figure something like that out , without a working version of said 'game'. Truth be told, though, I've spent probably ~300h moar buggering around, and trying to figgur't out the busted stuff, than I would, had the game release been 'As Advertised' In the event, this topic is moot, for me, as I will never, knowingly give EA another red simoleon, ever. I'ma gonna head over to the ST/Ex, now; get me a fullmod SC4, put on some Hawkwind, and lose this attitude. -
Couldn't decide which free game to redeem
ReverendBeel replied to a topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I dunno what came over me; i think it was the fact that I had only one game, in my origin library, SIMCITY, and I felt that I had already reached my quota of tears at that point in the evening. In the event, I somehow ended up with NFS: "OK, EA, YOU WIN!" The first nano-second of the first load-screen brought the first Advert. My breaking point; finally. The amount of bald-faced hucksterism contained within NFS:Most Wanted, is astounding.I'm still bruised, and bleeding from my last night with SC, and the last thing I need is EA rubbing my face into the fact that not only am ! the owner(?) of a broken stream of ones-and-zeros, and two useless/punishment codes, but that they have rewarded my temerity with a piece of a game. At least they are consistent; I predict EA wins 'The Golden Poo', two years running. What game did you pick? -
Thanks To All who replied to my post; Just wanted to let you know that I'm not trying to be anti-social; It's that the regional play is so haphazard and frustrating, at this point in time, that I would probably end up coming across as an EArs***le. If you're still up to figuring out what's broke, and how, get ahold of me. I have to warn you that I have a strange sense of humour. I think that I'll be getting into SC4, soon, to get this taste out of my mouth.

City not processing correctly, rollback now it's gone
ReverendBeel replied to mastorofpuppetz's topic in SimCity (2013) Technical Help Q&A
Well, I'm sorry to say that even though 'The Raellian Cloisterforks' have reappeared, they no longer participate on a regional level. According to the animations, all is OK, but once you look at the numbers, and the available 'plops', it is clear that they are communing from the great beyond. And no, thank you, but I won't take the codes back. -

Thankee, moaku, I think. You may have my EA punishment codes, if you like. -

Like this? BTW That land now seems to be salted. Can't even start over, much to the detriment of the other cities in the region, -
Gee-Whillikers, Shall A 'New-Fellah' Finally Keep a Topic Alive, That Might Express Displeasure, Without A Warning? HMMM?
ReverendBeel replied to ReverendBeel's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I see what you are saying. I do apologise. In the event, let me just bow out, for now. Enough grief here without me adding to it. -
C'mon mods, Aren't the issues I'm concerned with, valid? It woulda been simple, and acceptable for you to change my asterisk into whatever euphemism you prefer on this forum. Why do you instead delete & recommend that I go elsewhere? I am part of the HUGE branch of your clan that is usually too busy playing to pee(Hope that's Umkay) and moan. One post, extant, Rep 8, 2 Warnings. Why is this so adversarial? I thought I was on your side.

EA disables 'non-critical' SimCity gameplay features to address server issues
ReverendBeel commented on Dirktator's article in News
'In response to the launch day trouble Hatam said " If you regrettably feel that we left you down, you can of course request a refund for your order at http://help.origin.com/contact-us , though we are currently still in the process of resolving this issue. "' After waiting hours, so far, to speak with a helpful hindu, I wish it was my heart that was bleeding. Unfortunately the part so afflicted is somewhat south. Give me my money (and self-respect) back. -
Had to hit ORIGIN>RELOAD MY GAMES. Started ~0110h, now at 19%
