In case you didn't know Intel's graphics cards don't get a long very well with older video games and SC4 is another victim. Unfortunately its as simple as adding -availablevidmem 8 -nomemrestrict -norestrictions to the end of the target on a shortcut for SC4. I have problems like roads that go North-East and other roads that don't go directly left to right and up and down they are invisibal same with intersections. When placing buildings you only get the base texture (ex if building in on concrete you only see the concrete) until the building refreshes/updates, also black boxes randomly appear over objects and when bulldozing lines with textures from the side of the land (you know stone dirt textures on side of map) flash and move around quickly and violently on your screen. How do you fix this? I would love to Play SC4 again!

SC4 Graphics bug/glitch (Intel HD 4000)
David Buddy replied to David Buddy's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Yeah, that can work too but the downside is you can't use HD props in Software rendering mode. (HD props and textures are ones that don't look pixelated on the closest zoom level) That's a shame because the tree controller I use (Cascadia tree controller) has seasonal deciduous trees in HD, so I wouldn't be able to use it in Software-rendering mode. Accualy I'm running Win7. But I didn't have this issue before intel updated their graphics drivers to be compatible with Win8. I tryed to downgrade the driver but couldn't find an older version . I'm not so sure if this is a Win8 compatibility thing or just a bug with the drivers. But I had problems with other Video games too as I mentioned. -

I figered it out, in options you need to change the colour depth from 16bit to 32bit and change the "renderer" from Hardware to Software -

Graphical Gitches in SC4 which makes the game impossible to play. INTEL GRAPHICS CARD!
David Buddy posted a topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
I've read many stories about graphical glitches in SimCity 4, but they all seemed to be graphic's card related, but no one complaned about graphical glitches with an Intel graphics card. I started having these black lines going through my cities (especially when bulldozing stuff) after a patch with 'better touch support.' And really that screwed my fun because before I updated my SimCIty 2013 was not working correctly and when I updated SC2013 was working fine but SC4 wasn't. Can anyone help I maxed out on regions on SC2013 and would like to go back to SC4. My system (What you'll need to know): 3rd Gen Intel Core i5 clocked at 2.5Ghz (3.10 with Turbobost 2.0) Intel HD Graphics 4000 Windows 7 64-bit And yes it is a Laptop !EDIT! It seems that I need an older Driver but I can't seem to find it I know it has to be Pre March 2013 patch for the Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver. Also it has to be a .exe file and genuine. -
Graphical Gitches in SC4 which makes the game impossible to play. INTEL GRAPHICS CARD!
David Buddy replied to David Buddy's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
I checked the oldest version for my driver they have is 15.31.17.64.3257 (9.18.10.3257) while I have 9.18.10.3071 and the last working version was 8.15.XX.XXXX (Sorry that only what I could remember) It also has to be a .exe, as I saw some website had the driver but it was a .cab file and when I snooped around in the .cab it looks like its useless. -
